Vultures of Venus are the latest greatest rock band to come out of the Melbourne underground, the premier rock n’ roll city in Australia.

Vultures of Venus write songs spanning many genres combining their love of all things psychedelic. They are glam-punk-electro at its finest.

“Vultures of Venus are pop. Vultures of Venus are Art. If you gave the Marquis de Sade a guitar and Andy Warhol  a synthesizer the howling lovechild spawned from such an unholy union would be Vultures of Venus” (Beat Band Bible 6th October 2009)

Enhancing the presence of their electro-tinged garage glitz glam rock the Vultures have recently released their debut album to a stunning reception in Fitzroy thanks to the allegiance of the inner-north Melbourne warehouse party scene.

Their first single debuted at number 9 on the Syn Fm charts and their album launch was sold out with a cue down the street. With their recent television appearance on Channel 31's 1700 show and radio interviews on Syn Fm the Vultures are definitely on the way up.

This is glam-punk-electro at its finest.

Vultures of Venus have just released their debut album in Melbourne , Australia. The Music rocks and the Art Work is pretty cool if we do say so ourselves.

The individual tracks are in the process of being posted on I-Tunes and this looks like it's gonna be uploaded in around 2 weeks.

There are a lot of songs that we haven't posted on the internet, so the Cd is a real bargain.

If you want a copy of the CD send us a message on my space and we'll give you the relevent banking details and send you a copy.

Cd's $15 (AU) plus postage (dependent on where you are in the world).

Get in quick because the price will rise soon as we have a distribution deal in the works.

Yours in the independent spirit, Vultures of Venus.

The Vultures of Venus have just finished their first self titled album and have been playing the Melbourne music circuit for just over a year.
The Vultures have been cultivating a pop, rock sound that heavily influenced by  80s and 90s dance culture but still focuses on the definitive characteristics of 60s garage & 70s  glam rock.
With a driving electro beat, brit pop melodies and rock guitar riffs and hooks the band have been creating a sound that sets itself apart from any other act in the Melbourne music scene.
The Vultures have a sound that is a result of revelling in the drama of music by indulging in the characteristics of 60s beatles melodies, 70s glam rock, 80s electronica and 90s brit pop. The main writers of the music Jefferson Morrow & Simon Quinn are serious about their music but write in a style that is both tongue in cheek and to a certain extent ironic creating a parodie of pop rock but persuing the serious agenda of celebrating all that is camp and cool about modern music.
