Howdy Folks, You've probably heard us talking about the record that we've been working on recently. After a good deal of time spent crossing the T's, dotting the I's, and getting the artwork to live up to everyone's standards, we're just waiting for the UPS man to drop a big box of 'em on Phil's porch!
It's called Long Way From Sunset, and in celebration of all the effort that's gone into getting it done we're gonna have a serious (and I do mean oh so serious) party on Saturday, December 6th at the soon-to-be openend Blinkin' Lincoln (6080 Ridge Ave, 19128) to mark it's official release.
The idea is that we're gonna mix it up with a whole laundry list of the great philly musicians who've fired and inspired us in this effort. We'll play a set first, then we'll have our friends get down with us, truthfully it's anyone's guess just who or what you might see...
What I can't provide in details (I'd could tell ya but then I'd have to kill ya) I can promise in overall quality. If you'll come party with us on 12/6 I verily guarantee you'll enjoy yourself...and anyone who knows me will tell you I don't sell snake oil
So mark it on your calendar and tell your brothers and sisters...plan to come down early and get down all night in the very grandest of chickenshack style!

With a little help from our friends at RTW Mobile, we've devised a plan to keep our friends posted regarding album releases, live appearances and family outings.
From your mobile phone, text "WCS" to 73914 and when something exciting happens we'll let you know!

Word in the barnyard is that all good things must come to an end. I don't know whether this true, but I do know for a fact that Ludwig's Garten (affectionately known to yours truly as Dirty Ludwig's) has sadly enough gone the way of the grape street pub, tyrannasaurus rex and the free lunch. Whether this represents a good thing coming to an end or a bad thing that took too long to happen is completely subjective...this isn't color-by-number. From what we understand, it was sold to another restauranteur and will be reopened at some unspecified point in the future. I'm sure it'll be just dandy, but it's definitely not going to be the place where we've regularly roosted over the last two years....the egg that hatched the Chicken Shack....home sweet home. Who am I to eulogize such a particularly....um, particular establishment? No one really. In such dark times, I rely on the pros.... Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.
As if the loss of an Optimator tap from our fair city wasn't painful enough, where else are we going to get Kasespaetzle? And we never did get that $300! CSJ

CHICKENSHACK GENESIS
First there were seven. Each a finely tuned fork, each sounding a lone frequency in the dark wilderness.
And one day the fates smiled on the seven, and determined that it might be an enterprising venture to bring them together that the resonance might be increased for the benefit of all, and brought into the light to add to the love in the big city.
A muse directed one of the seven to post upon the list of Craig a request that there be a meeting of the minds, a gathering of the gonzo. The muse's instructions were faithfully carried out, even Craig smiled.
Neighbors were annoyed, hair was raised, and an instant and durable bond was established between the seven when they met on the date specified. Few words were spoken, but much common ground was established, many smiles were shared, and the vibration increased exponentially at this first meeting.
Fashioned of peace, love, dedication and keen sense of the absurd, a common structure was built for the good of all:
the Wissahickon Chickenshack
Keep the rain out and the vibe in....get the roof over your head!
