Underground Sound section of the D.A. posted Feb 6,2007

"Though not a full-length album, Treasure Cat has provided a teaser demo of things to come, and boy does the future look good.  In just five tracks, Treasure Cat lays out a solid metal sound with such technical prowess and a sound that would make Rush blush.  The three-piece from right here in Morgantown is an excellent band, and this demo is an early testament to the members' status as rock icons.  The album has no vocals, which may turn off the average listener, but upon further listening you can hear each instrument do the singing.  All three band members take on the role of rhythm and lead, producing a sound that would be very difficult for a vocalist to keep up with.  The final product is superb and leaves you wanting more.  Hopefully they'll put out a full-length soon, but for now the demo complements their style quite well.  Pick this up at one of the band's upcoming shows." Wow, man thanks a lot. TC

A big thank you to Michael Witherel for the following article posted 1/22/07.

"As a first-timer for seeing the bands I was a bit skeptic, as I am with all new acts that I see for the first time.  That quickly went away and any questions I had were answered immediately when Treasure Cat stormed the stage.  I had heard nothing but good things about T.C., but I wondered how an instrumental act could pull it off and win the crowd.  I should have been slapped for thinking like that.  Everyone was instantly captivated by the stage presence, and the musical artistry displayed was unrivaled.  I haven't heard that cohesive of a sound in a long time.  It just sounded right.  And what a sound it was, completely unique and unlike anything I have ever experienced live. Bravo.

The following is an excerpt of a review that we received from Stonerrock.com (thanks Fanny):

In reference to Karma to Burn,"For those who want to revisit the instrumental goodness and only that, guitarist Will Mecum has a new three-piece-Treasure Cat.  Their five song demo has Karma's distinct sound although hewing closer to the more open production of Wild, Wonderful Purgatory that the thicker, meaner Almost Heathen.  Whether going full bore("Captain Smirk") or pulling back and letting some melody creep in ("On a Clear Day"), there's plenty to like about this band. Worth your time.
