Last night I did sound for Baby Asprin for the 5th or 6th time. This band is for sure one of the best bands to come out of Baltimore in a long time.

They are no frills, high impact, and extremely viceral. Its like watching a leopard rip a big chunk of muscle and tendons off a fallen gazelle. Great songs also. They use alot of these sort of old fashioned sexy beats. For a second it sounds like a throwback, then you feel dumb for letting it go out of style.

Anyway, check for them.

Thanks everyone who made our release show at the Metro Gallery so fun! We were thrilled that so many friends, old and new, showed up, and we hope you all had as good a time as we did.

Summer is here! Hope you all are enjoying it.

Now. You have all been very patient. Our debut album, begun last May, is nearing completion. We spent three arduous but satisfying days in spacious and air-conditioned Lord Baltimore studios with Rob Girardi. We have known senator Girardi for years, and are big fans of his work. So, basically, he mixed the album. It sounds killer.

And we can't wait for you to hear it. Once the mastering is finished and the artwork taken care of, we hope to have it in your hands by September. Stay tuned for more, and check us out this Saturday, July 12th, at the Floristree space opening for Half Japanese (featuring David Fair and Mark Jickling!!)

Baby Aspirin

Hey there friends..we are working on putting out our first record in the very near future...this has taken almost four years and so we are very excited! Also, after many missed opportunities and crossed fingers we are playing a couple shows out of town...first in Philly then in NYC thanks to our friends On Mono and Harlot....but we will be playing more shows at home here in Baltimore this spring as well..like at Pow-wow and at the opening of a new theater on Charles Street called The Strand...we will keep you posted on these events and hopefully we will be seeing you around!!! xoxoxoxoxo

hey there...well it's our one year anniversary with Rob Girardi! He is probably unaware so there's no pressure for a card or presents..but I think I will send him a little gift or card..he recorded our first ep called Rabbit Heart...and is just one of the sweetest/most talented gents we have ever met!! So now we are thinking about doing some more recording with our own talented Yuri(he plays a mean face melting bass!) and we'll get back to you once it's ready. We have already played some really amazingly fun shows right here in B'more..and we have some more coming up soon in the next couple of weeks. Mostly we are just thankful that we have so many interesting and awesome friends that rock out and know how to enjoy themselves!

Are you doing well folks? We are. We are all under the impression that spring--blogging is making everybody else feel magical too! Right?! We can't help but look forward to the warm nights and burning days that are headed our way...here in baltimore we will gather our courage and meet in dark places by moonlight and listen to music played by our friends and drink and be kind to one another as if we are connected....sounds like a dream but we know we have all seen it happen.....so excited to play with Thrushes at the end of May (right before Selena's birthday)...so excited to play at Housewerks outside....and very much looking forward to playing with In Minature and The Goldbug in June at Colin's house party! be well..be seeing you....xoxoxo Baby Aspirin xoxoxoxo

So I am new to this--so what? Well here it goes guys..if you are in fact out there...I want to say thank you to everyone's kind words and pictures and catcalls...more please...on behalf of allof the babies in the Baby Aspirin. We love to see our friends and to play music with our friends and continue to make more as we play. We are now over that hump of being a band for 1 year--a small yet triumphant anniversary that keeps us truckin. Anyway, I guess mostly we would not be playing shows if it were not for the good people that have helped along the way! By the way for anyone who is interested we do have eps for sale for $5....and we recently recorded at MICA with some friends so there is a chance of another lil disc coming out in the future. baby aspirin is doing just fine....we are takin a break until April 10....however lori and selena are taking their side project graceskull/greyskull out on the town tomorrow nite at the H&H building for some art/drinks/dancing/music/did I mention that its to promote a fundraiser to help get parks built in our city for kids!!!! awesome! the address is 405 franklin and it all takes place at 7.....on the 3rd floor(we plan to [play 1st at 9). be there yall its fun for a good cause!

the aspirins

Hey gang.  Enjoying my motorcycle trip around the country so far.  Thinking alot about new songs and playing lots of shows when I get home in October.  Chilling out in Phillpsburg MT with my friend Signe.  We went swimming in a mountain lake this afternoon.  It was beautiful, but very very cold.  Maybe my balls will come out of my abdomen sometime tomorrow.  Well, I'm off to dinner then bed.  Tomorrow I'll be heading to Seattle, then down the west coast, then back East from Sacramento around the end of September or so.  I miss you and love you all very much.  Looking foreward to making more great music when I get home.  xoxoxoxoxoxo C7

We just recorded five songs with Rob G. (sorry, don't know how to spell Garardi, or whatever) at Brooks' (Avec) studio.  It was hot as fucking hell, but we had so much fun hanging by the baby pool in the bamboo lined back yard in between takes.  Many thanks to Rob and Brooks who were both very patient and gracious hosts, as well as consumate work horses during the crunch time.  We are currently sorting  the details (art, photos, etc.) and will hopefully have this sweet little pill on the streets by the fall.  We don't want to give too much away, but the e.p. contains some spirited versions of classic live favorites, as well as a newer bundle of joy entitled Telephone Attacks!  We are all very happy with the outcome, and are very much looking foreward to sharing it with our friends.  Hugs and kisses.
