so...
during the course of spring break, we worked on a new song. it sounds quite wonderful. we recorded a demo of it without vocals and keys, but those will be added soon hopefully. we will not release the demo to the public though just yet. charlie couldn't make it to the practices because of food poisoning. so far i have 3 short mini songs recorded and mixed for the new I Cry Fire cd. it is yet to be titled. i have several other mini songs that i am going to finish up. not much more than those though. i have already started writing a new full length song. hopefully we can all work on it together soon. i am really excited about our line-up. i truly am. i am also glad that charlie is finally back with us, being that he used to be one of our original singers. he has done a fine job on bass so far. all the instruments are sounding good. we just need a little fine tuning and equipment upgrading.

about our show...
we had a great time playing it. we practiced long and hard for it, and i think it went very well. MJ will be on keys for our upcoming shows. we didn't get to play our last song which is probably one of our strongest songs, "Pulling the Pin," due to being in a hurry in order to get everyone out of the building before they shut us down. we cut all of our intros, outros and interludes in and between our songs. sorry about that. but we gave it our all for the show and that's what i believe counts. thanks to those who were singing along and thanks to those who helped us load and unload, and a very special thanks to two important people. thank you Jas Dudley for doing a great light show for us during our set and thank you Fransisco for being there for support and the words of encouragement. thanks to everyone.

we will try to make this return something special. so please be on the lookout for us.

ha ha, at last.  i cry fire is mine, they all quit you saw it.  i own i cry fire.  no.  just kidding.  this is donny by the way.  so unless mj takes it for some reason or another i suspect i cry fire is truely gone.  here is how i feel about it.
some people consider i cry fire to be nothing but a waste of time.  they think that it could have been better spent.  i have not heard anyone in the band say that, but others have.  i hope that no one will truely believe that.  i was here for most of the time, and i saw people grow.  we had some great times, and great music, i will never consider anything about this a waste.  tons of chinese food, power drankin tha' green tea, and making the most pointless, most of the time painfull games.  now i have 8 great friends to show for the time we worked together.

I used to have alot of fun, Eventhough I always felt really out of place, I always had Fun, and now it seems to me the heart is gone, and the fire has gone out, it no longer seems that anyone is having fun with the band anymore, and if that is the case, then why drag it out any longer. I have decided to leave the band because my heart isnt in it anymore. I just dont feel it anymore, and I honestly dont see the point to go on if my whole heart is not in it anymore. I still hold the highest regards for everyone else left in the band, but I cannot continue. I wish everyone else the best and I know everyone else will get along just fine in whatever endeavors they encounter. I hope everyone tries to understand what I am doing. I am not doing it for attention or for blame, but I am doing it out of an act of compassion. The fire has grown cold in this band and it seems at a stalemate. That may be just me feeling that way, but I will stick to my guns. As the founder of this band, I have seen it go through many changes and have seen it grow, but now it grows no longer. We have weathered many hardships and have grown strong, but my place is no longer with the band. After playing many shows in different places and making many new friends and connections, I have no doubt that I will continue to do the same and to keep my existing ones. I want to thank 8-Bit Kienan and Chris Tiger for always supporting me and my endeavors with I Cry Fire. They will always hold a place in my heart as one of the major reasons that kept me going with this band. I would like to thank all of our fans for coming out to the shows and watching us through our best and worst of times. This band has changed a lot, straying away from what it was intended to be and I dont want to be apart of it, if it cant represent a part of my heart any longer. I wish the best to Donny, MJ, Tucker, James, and Phil, not too mention our past members, Justin, Charlie and Kalem. Good luck.

Hi everyone. We have just parted ways with Kalem our bassist, it was a mutual understanding and we wish him well with his endeavors. He is still with The Seraph Terror, so check them out HERE
We have someone in mind for bass at this moment, but if you would like to try out, LET US KNOW. we would be more than glad to see what you can bring to the band.
ok. here is the deal. we are looking for a 7th member to join. they need to
-be able to play bass WELL.
-be very flexible.
-it is preferrable that you can learn music by ear, but if not, we will work with you.
-be easy going.
-be at least 15 yrs old or older
-be from around the angleton, lake jackson area or any surrounding town
-be able to get transportation to practice in Angleton

also, we prefer a non drinking, non smoking member. but if you do, then we will try to work with it.

another note to remember is, we have our own bass rig, but if you want to use yours, that would be great also.

Well...here is an update...
1. Jeff comes back down to Angleton on May 9th.
2. Jeff, Tucker, Phil, James, and Justin (ex. I Cry Fire, who is now in ENCORE which can be heard HERE) have a new side project now, called, xSTAYxTRUEx. they are a straight edge band and if you want to listen to their music, you can do so HERE.
3. Phil is cutting his hair. Kinda like a medium mohawk???
4. MJ is at Disneyland.
5. Kalem is busy with THE SERAPH TERROR which can be heard HERE.
6. Jeff is in the process of taking college finals.
7. James is doing stuff??? Like being in his other side project, called THE LOCAL SHOW which you can listen to HERE.
8. Tucker is at Cara's house all the time.
9. Donny is still working at Buccee's in Angleton.
10. Jeff, Tucker, Phil, and Sean (from WHAT LIES IN RUINS which can be heard HERE), have started another side project band called, THE ARK ABLAZE which can be reached HERE.

so...i have been working on new material. our new stuff is going to be alot more challenging to play. our sound is going to change some. but i think for the better. our sound is maturing. we want to go alot heavier but we want to go very melodic as well. so expect alot of melodies underlining breakdowns and such. so yeah...imagine these bands for our new sound???

...at least these are the bands that have influenced me so far.so i dunno.

1. so far i have written this rad keyboard intro song for our new album in the works. it has kinda a classical feel to it. but it is also written in the style of my guitar playing. so it kinda resembles a weird kinda classical guitar feel to it but on a keyboard.

2. when i was home, the whole band was working on a new song. i think i pretty much have it finished in my mind. so far the songs is about 7 minutes.i think its going to end up being 10 minutes. the beginning is in 3/4 time. so its kinda weird. because we usually play the straight 4/4 time. but make the transition in this song everynow and then. this song is very epic and explores many melodies. a really moving bass line and guitar lines. and i am hoping to have a moving keyboard line into it. i have no doubt donny will do a great job on the drums for it. also this song is alot heavier too. so.. yeah..it also explores the realms of classical guitar as well with a slight hint of a renaissance type sound.

3. i am also working on a new song as of right now. i dunno how to describe it. its very melodic very very melodic. but with kind of a tech feel behind it. the breakdown is one that is fueled by melody and is in 3/4 time as well. and some weird chord arrangements. i guess you would have to imagine Fall of Troy, to get the gist of what i am saying. the beginning of this song has a really neat disney-esque fingertap melody to it. so i am curious to see how it turns out.so far this song is really heavy and has alot of melody.

4. i also finished another keyboard piece. its very 80's sounding with and 8 bit 8 beat drum sequence in the back with an occassional 16 beat and waltz exchange to it.
