I learnt guitar by trying to play pieces by Paul Simon, Bert Jansch and John Renbourne, I have been a performing guitarist since 1973 when I formed my first rock band, a power trio called GONDOLIN.

Between 1976-78 I backed numerous U.K. and U.S. artists at the Nitespot Cabaret Club Bedford. Some of the highlights were working with Matt Monroe, Diane Solomon and Georgie Fame. I then gained a chance to audition for The New Dakotas backing 60's legend Billy J Kramer. I toured with the band for two years and managed to survive the gigs and the digs. There were some great players in the band over this time. Kit Morgan (Guitar) Dave Hammond (Keyboards) Jeff Taylor (Bass Guitar) Martin Wild on Drums (who went on to tour with The Monkees/ Alan Price Band).

During the 80's I joined the premier Soul/Funk band from Bedford OCEAN playing all over the UK working with bands like The Real Thing, The Foundations and Jimmy James and the Vagabonds. Stevie V of Dirty Cash fame.

Then followed countless sessions in the U.K. Olympic Studios,Townhouse, Battery, Battle and New York (Midi City , Madonna's studio 1987) and working at the Guitar Institute, Acton, London from 1999. All of which continue today.

I also play guitar for Ceejay, a fantastic young R&B singer, check out the Jeff Buckley song Evereybody Wants You at www.myspace.com/ceejayuk1

For transcriptions and free guitar lessons check out www.maxsguitarschool.co.uk and there are my first R&B and acoustic guitar lessons at www.alloutguitar.com

I am always busy composing incidental music for T.V & film companies, songwriting, teaching guitar at The Guitar Institute, London, The Music Centre Bedford and Bedford Modern School. Over the years I have taught some very talented musicians, teaching is something I really enjoy.
Next year I will be running Acoustic Guitar Weekends with John Goldie. Checkout....
