WILL COLBY/ KILLINGBOXX

“Kelly succeeds in moving outside the box. The realistic concept made the film more personal prone to its frightening grip. A Far Cry From Home achieves goals crucial to producing quality gay cinema - definitely a cinematic step in the right direction.”
DOOR Q

“One of the best horror thrillers I've seen in a very long time, if not ever…Truly flawless horror.”
DUANE L. MARTIN/ ROGUE CINEMA

“This gory tale will scare you fine! Kelly’s persuasive performance and bloody last gasp are certain to become a cult favorIte.”
ON TOP MAGAZINE

“A Far Cry From Home beautifully takes the stereotypes of backwoods horror and gives it a violent social and political thrust, giving this mini-opus a true subtlety of purpose.”
BRIAN KIRST/ HORROR SOCIETY

“…extremely dark, fast-paced, gory, and well made. The courageous plotline is indicative of Kelly's mindfulness of the changing nature of horror movies and touching the modern minds of his audience.”

Nice article- thanks Duane Martin

Interview
Friday, February 27, 2009
Alan Rowe Kelly's controversial short horror tale, A FAR CRY FROM HOME, is about a young urban gay couple (Kelly & Don Money) traveling through the NJ wilderness and stop at a rural antique hex store. What they don’t realize is that the backwoods storeowners (Katherine O'Sullivan, Jerry Murdock & Benzy) are a religious sect of homophobic, crazed killers who - under the local rule of the Preacher Man (Terry West) - have ‘extended’ plans for our vacationing couple by doing the ‘Lord’s work’. A horror film in every sense by using ‘hate’ as the ultimate killer. The rest of the cast includes Robb Leigh Davis and Susan Adriensen in a cameo appearance.
Cinematography by Bart Mastronardi. Edited by Stolis Hadjicharalambous. Special FX by Benzy, Michael Todd Schneider & Brian Spears. Music and sound design by Tom Burns. Written & Directed by Alan Rowe Kelly. Executive Producer Ian Reinhard.

GALLERY OF FEAR will be available in 2009!
