We made the top 12 in the contest "Hometown for the Holidays" put on by 93.3 KTCL. There were over 190 submissions and we made the top 12! You'll be able to hear our song "Where I Want To Be" on 93.3 starting Dec 10th.

Now we need everyone's help to win the contest. Here's how it works:
1. Sign up for music surveys by DEC 10th here. You DON'T have to be a Colorado resident to vote.
2. Within the next week you'll receive a survey in your email.
3. Take the survey and vote for The Heyday. That's it!

What happens if we win?
If we make the Top 3, then we'll play a show at Andrew's on Lincoln Dec 18th. If we place 1st in the music survey, then we get 3 days recording at the Blasting Room studios, a $250 Best Buy Musical instruments gift card, and we'll be invited to play Not So Silent Night 2010! If we have the best crowd at the show on Dec 18th, then we win $1,000!

Please help spread the word about this contest by telling all of your friends. We can't win this contest on our own, we need YOUR help. Let 93.3 know how much you love The Heyday by signing up for surveys and voting for us.

Hey everyone,

We’re currently enjoying a day off here in St. Louis and thought we’d share some pictures and video from our busy day in St. Louis yesterday. We started the day off bright and early and headed to the KMOV studio to appear on “Great Day St. Louis.” Check out the acoustic version of “Come In or Stay Out” from the show HERE.

We spent a little time checking out the book and record stores at the Del Mar loop before visiting UMSL to do an interview and play acoustic for "The U: UMSL Student Radio".

How’s everyone doing!? As you may can see, we’ve just launched our new Myspace page, complete with a fresh design, new photos, Twitter boxes for each of the band members, and our video for “Come In or Stay Out.” We also have posted a short blog video update with information on our newly-announced headlining concert at the Gothic Theater on September 19! Pretty exciting for a Monday!

To help promote the “Come In or Stay Out” video, we are going to give away autographed drum heads to FIVE lucky fans who post the music video on their
Facebook page. Out of those five, the one who gets the most “Likes” on their posting will receive a bass drum head that is very special to us- one with lots of drawings on it from a far away land that we’ve had hanging around for quite a while. Suggest to your friends that they become fans as well, and they will get updates about Heyday news/shows/etc.

Here’s how to post!

Watch the video at this link: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=246485695569

and then click the “Share” button below the video box. Pretty simple, right? Good luck to anyone who wants a signed drumhead!

Here are a couple of other ways you can help us promote our new video/myspace/whatever.

  1. ON FACEBOOK: Hit the “Suggest to Friends” link below our Page picture and click on your Facebook friends to suggest they become fans of the Heyday.
  2. ON FACEBOOK: Hit the “Add a Fan Box to your site” link in the same column and learn how to add a Heyday “widget” of sorts to any html-capable site.
  3. Tell your friends to text “fan theheyday” to FBOOK (32665), which Facebook claims automatically adds them as a Heyday fan.
  4. Tell your friends to follow us on Twitter: visit http://twitter.com/theheyday
  5. Tell your friends to visit our new Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/theheyday
  6. Tell your friends to visit our Youtube page: http://www.youtube.com/theheyday
  7. Go out in the street and scream “Heyday!” over and over again.

GOTHIC SHOW

Pretty much same details as we put in the blog video. We are headlining the Gothic Theater on September 19, as I mentioned before. Amazing lineup- the Rouge, the Alan Baird Project, and Jonathan Stark. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, August 8 at 10am. The first 200 tickets will be sold for $5, and after that they go for $8 advance and $10 day of. Please visit http://www.gothictheatre.com/ for tickets and information.

As always, you guys make all of these things possible, and thanks for your continued support. Hope you all enjoy the videos, pictures, etc. Later!

Love,

Pete and the Heyday

We're finally finishing up some new tunes, getting ready to go into the studio next week, and we couldn't be more excited! We really believe the new material is some of the best stuff we've ever written and we can't wait to get it out there, so keep checking back for studio blogs, pictures, stories, and eventually some new tunage! And Enjoy the summertime!

New Music Video and Layout coming very very soon as well!

Tuesday, The 8th of June, 12:34 am... Driving away from Kearney Nebraska towards Lincoln, The Heyday and Friends have just finished playing a fun show for an excited group of young'ins at The Roman and are wearily making their way to their far away hotel room.
With Alec Crawford behind the wheel and French house music filling the cabin, all was calm and all was good in the Heyday cruising machine, when out of nowhere, BANG!
CRAWFORD SLIGHTLY TURNS THE WHEEL, NARROWLY ESCAPING A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH THE BIGGEST DEER THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN! THE COLLISION CAUSING THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT TO FLY OFF THE VAN AND THE DEER TO MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEAR...
This being the Heyday's first encounter with a deer and the headlights... (hehe) The group was needless to say, shaken up. A few of our heros decide to bravely walk down the foggy dark highway in pursuit of their missing headlight, while an even braver few guard the van in case of the deer coming back for revenge.
After walking nearly a mile down the Highway our hero's find the missing headlight and yet find no sign of the deer in the dark. Wishing the poor creature well our hero's make haste back to the now very beaten up van and wait for the local police to bring them some kind of accident report for insurance boringness.
Hopefully being the last encounter The Heyday will ever have with a deer in the highway, They pull away from the side of the road and depart once again for their hotel room in Lincoln. As they pull away Peter swears he sees the red glowing eyes of the deer in the forest waiting for his revenge...

To Be Continued...

I can't think of the last time I was up before 7:30, let alone the last time waking up that early was even worth it at all. Waking up that early to start shooting our music video, however, was a piece of cake.  Who knew lip syncing a song 20 times in a row under blazing hot lights could be so much fun!? Anyway, thanks to everybody who came out today, all your enthusiasm is really going to make this video amazing! Day 2 of the video shoot is scheduled for Sunday, keep your eyes peeled for a "Making Of" Video (aka mostly us screwing around.) Thats all for now, check back soon!
