Current mood:  intense
You might have already enjoyed listening to the top song on my playlist:  "Medusa's Revenge."  I was delighted to learn that Beltane used my lyrics for their track, "Medusa's Revenge," on their D A R K H O V S E cd which was just recently released.  To learn more about the band Beltane and to order a copy of the entire album, visit http://www.myspace.com/darkgodbeltane and click on the D A R K H O V S E cover.

Here are the lyrics:

“Medusa’s Revenge: The Formerly Unsung Story”

(Keep in mind that my lyrics reflect a great deal of poetic license; to read even more about the incredible band Beltane, visit: http://www.angelfire.com/band2/beltane)

Formerly mighty God Poseidon~~~

Raped Medusa and spread his poison.

Poseidon damned Medusa with his seed,

And as a virgin, she did bleed.

Forced out of Athena’s temple forever more,

Treated worse than a common whore~~~

Chorus:  Medusa made sure the Olympians would harm no more;

As her serpent’s hair and corpse-like face froze them as egregores.

Intelligent Athena, you were no better than him:

Blaming Medusa for her bloody rape by Poseidon,

Choosing your corrupt family over your Maiden.

Chorus:  Medusa made sure the Olympians would harm no more;

As her serpent’s hair and corpse-like face froze them as egregores.

Unjust Athena, you turned Medusa

Into a monster, as you took all of her

Beauty, which had caused your temple’s defilement

Never caring at all for her human predicament.

Chorus:  Medusa made sure the Olympians would harm no more;

As her serpent’s hair and corpse-like face froze them as egregores.

Medusa’s gorgon head was removed by Perseus’ blade

That much is true; however, Athena’s & Poseidon’s fate

Was eternal:  they were only given their fair due

When they were made no longer physical;

Their former lives taken from them,

Much as hers was raped from her:  the wronged Medusa.

Chorus:  Medusa made sure the Olympians would harm no more;

As her serpent’s hair and corpse-like face froze them as egregores.

Now, the Gods, Poseidon and Athena no longer physically exist

In what was once tangible, their ego-perches on ....Mount.. ..Olympus.....

Chorus:  Medusa made sure the Olympians would harm no more;

As her serpent’s hair and corpse-like face froze them as egregores.

In-deed, Poseidon and Athena no longer know physicality

In this moment, they’re mere thought-form memories.

Chorus:  Medusa made sure the Olympians would harm no more;

As her serpent’s hair and corpse-like face froze them as egregores.
