i probably should have wrote this a few weeks ago, but i've been somewhat busy and haven't gotten around to it.
anyway, to the point.
you may or may have not noticed a few different people playing bass for us lately. i guess i just want to talk a little bit about what is going out with our bass situation. mike is no longer playing with us, it was somewhat of a mutual agreement on all of our parts, including his. i don't really think i need to go into details as to what the reasons were that lead up to this decision making, but i would like to go into detail, and take a second just to say thanks to mike for playing music with us for so long, being such a great friend, and for all the great times we all had together. i met mike by joining this band, he was such a good person to meet, and good friend to obtain. truth. i feel like this thanks is somewhat overdue, as i/we don't see as much of him anymore due to all of our busy schedules and whatever else. ya'll know what it's like, but with that said, i just miss having the guy around sometimes. straight up. i mean, besides the fact that now i have to go to the bar to get quarters for the pool table ( mike used to keep at least $20 in quarters in his harley jacket ), you don't know how much of a bummer that is. in closing, we all love you mike, we all miss you, we all love you.
i also wanted to take a second and thank our good friend steve, who has been doing a wonderful job at most of our recent live shows, filling in for our lack of bassist. you've been so solid for us, keeping our live sound in tact, and i hope you know how thankful we all are that you are saving our asses. see you this week?
finally, we've been working with our new bass player keith, who's been coming along, and you should be meeting him soon enough.
so. even though reading the above makes it sound like shit is hectic... it's really not. we're still rocking, i just wanted to thank everyone that has helped us do so in the past, and everyone helping in the present.
-carl and the rest of the party

Howdy kids...we just put up three new tracks, "The Plan", "Falling Down", and "Far From Gone". These are rough mixes featuring only acoustic, electric rhythm organ, vocals and drums....the bass and lead guitar tracks have yet to be recorded. So these aren't quite the finished product but you get the idea. Love, Necktie Party

"Necktie Party's music has a soulful undertow, integrating enchanting harmonies and bluesy song stylings into a hypnotic mix. At its most soulful, especially when songstress Kate takes the lead on songs like "Lost and Found," the band can evoke the swirling emotional resonance of The Cowboy Junkies. Other songs, such as "We're All Waiting," have more of a pop edge to them, but the overall result is still an affecting and stirring blues number, a cold beer in hot, dark bar."
