Current mood:  thoughtful
Well in keeping with the tradition...not really...I was looking thru the ol' site and ended up reading an old post by our former singer Joel Vissia. It was "A year in retrospect", looking back on that 1st year as band and what we all have accomplished, the shows we've played, the venues as well as the friends & fans we made, family...is how we looked at it and felt it was & still is.  That was Nov 26th 2007...now Nov 1st 2009 still pressing on but now as most of you know or may not have known Joel has parted ways with Caesura. Kind of a mutual agreement from both ends, don't want to list out all the details but if you pass by us and feel compelled to ask we'll fill you in. But my main reason to sit down and type was to again look back on all we have accomplished in the past 2 years, not to brag or stoke our ego but to reflect & remember.

In the beginning I posted an ad to find some musicians to start a band, nothing fancy or big but to meet some guys to get together & hang out to write music & basically JAM! 3yrs later...look what we've done! Countless shows in some of the coolest venues, from playing just about every club in K.C. to traveling to surrounding area's, Columbia to Witchita, Manhattan to Lawrence. By all means many bands have traveled & played in the same places but for me this is the first band that I have been able to be a part of that has done this, for me...exciting. We have made many new friends as well as many new fans along the way, in all the places we have been.

I look back at accomplishments we've made together...

2007 voted 'Best New Band' by Heavy Frequency Magazine.
Bands Across Kansas City ' Local Music Play Off' Final's (Nov 20th 2007)
Appeared on 'KC Live' shortly after performing on live T.V.
We released our first full length album 'Abstract Clarity'. (Nov 21st 2008)
Vans Warped Tour @ Sandstone! (Aug 4th 2009)

I know it's not a big impressive list but for me, very proud!

I look back & think holy shit this is more than I've ever done with music in my life & wonder how the Fuck am I going to top all that shit? Well...I don't have to...getting together ever other day to practice & write & to enjoy doing it is all I have to do. Don't get me wrong if the challenge arises I'm going after it but in the mean time I'm stickin to my roots...music, family fun!

November seems to be the month something happens, big or small, I'm looking forward to seeing what this November brings us. A whole new direction is on the horizon for 'Caesura' keep your eyes open...this is going to be FUN!

Jack & Brent...let the games begin!

Current mood:  thankful

Well, it is hard to believe that we will have been a band a year coming up in early December. Looking back on everything that is happened I can honestly say this has been a year I will not soon forget. It is amazing all the things that can take place in just one revolution around the sun. As I sit hear typing this I can't help but think how fortunate we have been to do the things we have done in only a year. We have made some great strides as a band. Recording our first demo, playing the Beaumont club 3 times, playing the Blue Note three times, and not to mention meeting all of the great bands we have played with along the way.. And the bands that have helped us out on the way.. But by far the most important the fans that have helped us out along the way!! We have also witnessed very personal things in our family (I refer to it as that because it sure feels like one). I, myself got married this year, that to me was VERY important and was shared by my year old family... But the biggest thing to come out of this year was a child.. Made up from our bass players genes, we know that years down the road he will be a force to be reckoned with. So looking back in this year, I can only imagine what the next year will have in store for us, the good times and the bad. We are truly blessed to have have found our way into the music world, and we hope everyone enjoys what we are doing, for all of the music we present is a journey inside four very different individuals.. But I can rest assure that me, and the rest of my year old family will continue to vie toward making the best music we possibly can. In closing I would like to thank everyone again that has impacted us in any way over the past year. In saying that I would like to extend an invitation to our December 7th show at Davey's Uptown W/ Seeking Surreal.. This will kind of be our 1 year anniversary show.. So thanks again!! We hope to see everyone there.. and if not, I am sure we will see you sometime.. Happy Holidays..Joel
