..Head down to LA's New Beverly Cinema at midnight on Friday, December 4th, for a very special screening of a brand new 35mm print of Brian Trenchard-Smith's amazing STUNT ROCK! Not only will we have a beautiful new print of the film, never before screened, but we will also have some very special guests introducing the film and doing a Q&A afterwards. Currently scheduled are: Director Brian Trenchard-Smith; Margaret Gerard, who plays the reporter in the film; Dick Blackburn, who plays Monique van de Ven's agent (and who's best known as the director of the Rainbeaux Smith film LEMORA); and Sorcery members Perry Morris (drums) and Richie King (bass).

Take the thrill of insane stuntwork, the excitement of rock'n'roll, fuse them together and you get STUNT ROCK! The madness starts when real-life Australian stuntman Grant Page (MAD MAX, PATRICK, MAD DOG MORGAN) goes to Los Angeles to work on a TV show and meets up with a theatrical rock band called Sorcery. Page impresses the rockers so much with his daredevil antics that they hire him as well. While his first stunt lands him in the hospital, the reckless Page defies doctors orders and escapes out of the ward's fifth floor window to get back into the action. Page also finds himself the focus of the ladies, attracting both a newspaper reporter (Margaret Gerard) and the star of the television program he was hired to do stunts for (Monique van de Ven)... much to the annoyance of her manager (Dick Blackburn).

Featuring non-stop action, a killer late-70's hard rock soundtrack, and pedal-to-the-metal direction by Brian Trenchard-Smith (ESCAPE 2000, THE MAN FROM HONG KONG), STUNT ROCK is 92 minutes of adrenaline-fueled thrills that will blow your mind. A true cult film, STUNT ROCK is the perfect way to end a booze and chemicals fueled Friday night in LA. Grab a seat in the front row, fasten your seatbelt, and prepare to be under the spell of mind-boggling action and music pushed to the danger zone!

It's a deathwish at 120 decibels!

It's superhuman, super music, super magic and super amazing!

It's..... STUNT ROCK!!!!!!

Any big collectors of horror/cult/exploitation film zines out there? I've got an amazing 17 year collection of zines from around the world for sale, preferably as a set. Full runs of US titles like Psychotronic and Video Watchdog, very rare French zines like Cine Zine Zone and Monster Bis, full runs of UK titles like Uncut and Flesh & Blood, a bunch of Italian zines including complete early runs of Amarcord and Nocturno, and a lot more. If you missed out on years of collecting these now out of print and very hard to find zines, here's your chance to instantly have an amazing set. And, it'll be cheaper than if you had bought them individually over the years, and you won't have wasted all of the time it took me to put this collection together. If you're interested write for more info and I can send a complete inventory.

-------------------------------

Any VHS collectors located in the NYC/Long Island area? I have a bunch of cult/classic/horror/exploitaton tapes stored back in NY that I'd be willing to part with cheap. Hell, some of it (dupes from other collectors) I'd be willing to give away for free if they'll find a good home. Hit me up if you're in the NY area and have any interest, and next time I'm in NY we'll work something out.

Since we've added a lot of new people to our audience over the last couple of years, we're thinking of bringing back some of the films we screened between 3 - 5 years ago for a second showing. These will either be paired with a new title we haven't shown yet for one of our regular monthly events, or we'll add a second event each month that consists of two previously screened titles being brought back for a "greatest hits" night.

Here are some of the titles we screened at least three years ago and are thinking of bringing back. Let us know which ones you'd come down to see and that will help us decide and start planning some additional upcoming events.

Blood Feast
2000 Maniacs
Wizard of Gore
Dr. Butcher M.D.
I Drink Your Blood (note this print is cut and missing gore)
The Big Doll House
Barn of the Naked Dead
Gates of Hell
Raw Force
Welcome to Arrow Beach
Mantis in Lace
Mondo Teeno
Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires
We're Going To Eat You
The Thrill Killers
Satan's Cheerleaders
Night of the Bloody Apes
Blood Diner
Pieces
Nightmare
The Child
The Children
Invasion of the Blood Farmers
Scream Bloody Murder
The Black Gestapo

Since the last request blog has gotten unwieldy and hard to follow with well over 100 comments, here's a new one.

We're currently putting together our schedule for the next few months, so if there's something you'd like to see now's the time to let us know.

We don't have access to 35mm prints of every bizarre, sick, twisted, sleazy movie ever made, but feel free to request a fave and we'll see if we can find it in any of the private collections we have access to. Your best bet is to request something more generalized, by genre or director or star. Do you want more Italian zombie films, or more sexy cheerleaders? More violent bikers, or gut-munching cannibals? Laughable, so-bad-it's-good dreck, or well made obscurities that will blow your mind? More blaxploitation, or maybe a few dubbed kung fu flicks for a change?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated (we certainly don't do this for the money!) and who knows, maybe we'll screen one of your requests.
