We are at it again. The USA Cheerleaders are moving into the Country Music Capital of Nashville TN.


Sonette Brown, the New Director of the USA Cheerleaders: Missouri Show Team will also be the Director of the USA Cheerleaders: Nashville Show Team. Sonette was a former Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders and Nashville Kats Cheerleader. Taking on double duty is nothing new for this Director!!!

The USA Cheerleaders are very excited about our new expansion team in Missouri.

We would like to welcome: Sonette Brown

Sonette is a former Tennessee Titans Cheerleader where she cheered for 5 years with 3 of those years as a captain. Sonette was also cheered for the  AFL1 Nashville Kats, where she cheered for 3 season and was captain and choreographer, and in 2006 she was chosen to represent the Nashville Kats on the AFL Dream Team that performed in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Registration begins: 2:00 pm

Tryout material taught: 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Tryouts begin: 4:00 pm

The Tryout process starts at 2:00 pm, DO NOT BE LATE. First impressions are everything.


What to wear to tryouts:


2 - piece attire

Top: Athletic/Dance Bra Top                    tryout1   

Bottoms: Hot Pants(shorts)

No tank tops or bike shorts(spandex) allowed

Skin colored dance tights(not shimmer)

Any type of dance shoe


How you should look for tryouts:


Full hair & makeup

Make sure your hair and makeup compliment your skin type and your facial features. Hair must be worn down. (no pony tails, bows)


Eligibility:


Must be 18 years old. No Exceptions. Current HS Seniors may tryout, as long as they meet the age requirements by May 13, 2009.

There is no Height or Weight requirement, but you must be able to wear our uniform, and look presentable in it at all times.


What you will be judged on at tryouts:


Dance/Cheer Ability

Overall Appearance

Figure

Poise

Showmanship/Enthusiasm


You will learn a 3 to 5 count dance segment.

You will be judged on a toe touch

You will have an optional trick to perform, IE; leaps, turns, tumbling pass, a technical series, etc. Make sure it is your best trick to be judged on.


Important Information to know:


You must be available on May 13 - 17 for the USA Cheerleaders annual Swimsuit Photo Shoot. If you cannot attend these dates, please do not tryout. All USA Cheerleaders are required to attend the photo shoot.


If chosen for the program, you will have financial obligations that you must fulfill to the program. There will be fundraising opportunities as well as personal sponsorships opportunities to help cover/reduce your cost.

There is a registration fee, uniform fees (uniform,warm-up, boots, etc.)


You must obtain a Passport immediately if you are chosen to be a part of the program.


What to bring to tryouts:


A completed application that includes a non returnable head and body shot photograph*

$20.00 Tryout Fee (non-refundable)

Driver’s License or Passport for Identification purposes (required)

Other attire (in case you need, IE; tights, shorts,tops)

Water & snacks

Personal items you may need, like curling irons, hairspray, makeup, etc..

A pen

Time commitment needed to be a USA Cheerleader:


Rehearsals are one day a week, usually a Sunday, (more practices may be added at the Directors discretion)

Directions to Elite Gym:






(From Jacksonville) Take 95 North to exit 373- A1A (Amelia Island/ Fernandina Beach and Callahan). Make a right at the bottom of the ramp. Continue on A1A for about 8 miles. Pass the Lowes on the left. Make a left hand U-turn at the next light. Get in the right hand turn lane immediately. Turn right into the shopping complex with Petland, Woody’s and Dick’s Wings. The gym will be on the left.
Tuesday, January 20, 2009 
The USA Cheerleaders are headed up to New York City, on Wednesday January 21, 2009, to film an episode of the Rachael Ray Talk Show.
Members of the USA Cheerleaders: Maryland Show Team & Florida Show team will be in attendance. USA Cheer Directors Jeni and Becky, along with Kourtney, Kenesha, Kahla, and Amy W will appear on the episode along with some of the top NFL players in the country.
Stay tuned for more information on when the show will air. Pictures from the trip will be posted as soon as we return home.
Monday, December 15, 2008 

The USA Cheerleaders have been requested by Major Whyte of the US Armed Forces to be apart of the Block Leave for Aberdeen Proving Grounds and Ft. Lee on December 20, 2008.

This will be the USA Cheerleaders second year to take part in this event. The USA Cheerleaders will play host to over 3000 troop members that will be headed home for the holiday season. The USA Cheerleaders will arrive at BWI Airport at 4:30 am and will meet and greet all troops headed home to visit with their families for much needed rest & relaxation.

Members of the USA Cheerleaders, Maryland and Richmond team will be on hand for this appearance.

The troops will start arriving at 5:00 am and continue to 10:00 am. The USA Cheerleaders will be signing autographs, taking pictures and mingling with the troops in the USO Lounge and throughout the terminal. Please stop by and thank a soldier!!!!
