who knows where they come from but right now I've got some. They are jumping to get out. I'm definitely going to get them recorded soon.
Anyway, in the meantime I am looking for some great fun places to play in the beautiful Northwest US. If anyone can recommend some venues, it would be much appreciated.
to be continued....
happy December! Kirsten

Current mood:baffled by it
Call me old school, but just when I finally got use to myspace, I am suppose to have a facebook and a twitter account? WHY? All of the people I like already know how to get ahold of me. I already post my whereabouts to hundreds of people I don't know. I love playing music for people who want to hear it...that is for sure. But why do strangers need to know at what point in the day I walk my dog or what music I am listening to on my IPOD? I hardly use my IPOD anyway.
the fact is, it is a beautiful day outside, I want to play! There are things to do and people to see and I couldn't imagine my phone buzzing at me anymore than it already does. I refuse to be a slave to this technological age!!
My label, musician friends, and family keep insisting that I NEED a facebook.... OK, fine. They could all be right but I will sacrifice the 12 records I might sell for a little extra peace.
is anyone with me? am I the ONLY one?
While I'm at it, does anyone know a funky, cool photog in the Eugene area of Oregon? get back to me if so....
PEACE and more peace.... Kirsten

it wasn't the most productive season ever but it has been a loving, fulfilling time in other ways. I'm sad to let some things go but lovin' being in the present, aware of people and things happening around me and taking time to appreciate. now, can somebody please design me a t-shirt? we are having a contest. I have all the info below. Please have a safe, fun, romantic, sexy, relaxing, long, last weekend of summer 2009! Do you have the need to express yourself but just can't seem to find a way to do it? Have you considered graffiti, finger paint or ice sculpting?Maybe you are a compulsive doodler and need an outlet. I can help............ I'm having a design contest for a new T shirt!
Send in your coolest KP design (as many as you want) by October 1, and me and my team will pick the winner. It can be anything you want - but must be an original design* - and whatever my music moves you to create! Put some soul into it
Winner will have their design printed and available on my website and widget store, and the shirt will be named after you! Plus, the winner will receive an autographed CD, free T shirt (of course), poster, and free admission to my next show in your town.
For the design, here are the specs:
Maximum print size is 3600px x 3000px (height x width). We'd like to print at 300 dpi. Using higher resolution images will result in higher quality finished printing. The best digital technology processes available are used. Note that images can usually be reduced without loss of quality, but will typically degrade when enlarged, so please send the exact print size. Please send in .jpeg, .gif or .png file formats. If you want a transparent image, please send a .png file.
*Also please remember not to send any text or images that would infringe on someone else's intellectual property rights.

funny how dependent we become.. I have been totally out of touch with the world since I moved a few weeks ago.. my internet connection could not be made. I feel like I'm in some kind of time warp. I'm just getting back to the decade now and I don't feel as isolated. How sad, but it is just progress at work.
I have some things to share that I am posting in a bulletin shortly. I am back, connected and feeling like I have been locked out of a special room where everyone sits around and communicates!
The gods of the comcast company had my fate in their hands, and weild their power in cruel ways.
talk to me! I need to know you are there in my cyber-presence! :-)

I know I haven't taken the time I should to let you know about the 3 boys I depend on to me sound good. I am going to tell you a little about each one.. Steve (aka Steven, or Berns) has been playing guitar with me for a few years now. It didn't always work out as beautifully as it does now but it has been worth the work. He is such a sweetheart, originally from New Haven, CT. That's far. Sometimes he acts a little east-coast ish. I like it. I can't say that I have ever played with any other person who has put up with more from me. Yes, with the Goattee, some say he looks a little like Tom Green, but I don't see that. I think secretly Steve wishes we were more like Black Sabbath. Don't all boys wish that? His guitar tones are great and he is ever changing in his approach, mostly based on my whim. poor guy. I am greatful forever for him Ron Pack, or Tron as he is known, is a really cool, easy going drummer we met somehow in this whole LA music thing. A good, even tempered, non-diva, smart drummer is hard to find in this town. Sometimes, Ron is so even keel that we can't tell if he is happy or sad. If you see a slight upturn in the corners of the lips, you know all is well. He is really fun to travel with and I like playing with his hair. He rocks, and has totally melded into this music. I love when he plays Cajon and other percussion instruments but he probably wishes we were a little more like black sabbath too. Jeremy Christiansen (I think that is the right spelling) is pretty knew to the group. It takes me a while to warm up and as many of you know, I was very attached to Bruce Witkin who played with me for some time. I am loyal, it was hard for me to move on! (Bruce now runs Unison Music and is very busy with a bunch of stuff, still beloved!) I gotta tell you, this one is tall! Cute face, great bass player. He really rounds out the group and his personality is fabulous. He has a band called Olivia Nuetron Bomb, which gets him points right there. I am excited to see where this goes...I think we have a bright future together. Unfortunately, Jeremy, when said after Ron, makes Ron-Jeremy. We make a meal of that. He, too, is a Sabbath fan. there is a little about the band. I am growing to love them and I hope you will love them with me. K

Current mood: cultured
i say this because this past week was such a blur of human activity..i was impressed by the kindness of so many people crammed into one convention center.. i went to the NAMM show in Anaheim to be a judge in the Fender Guitar booth (i say booth, yet it was more of it's own country) for the int'l band jam...a bunch of great musicians from all over the place all of whom are Fender employees. i met the coolest people and caught up with some old friends. the band played in Santa Ana on friday night and at the Fret Fest in Anaheim on Saturday and i must say, we rocked it. So many people (you know who you are) i haven't seen forever showed up to my surprise..thank you guys. it really means a lot to us. At the convention center this week, there was a flurry of crazy hairdo's and don'ts, very sexy clothing, lot's of rock gods walking the streets of OC. Great people watching stuff. i don't know what is in the air these days, but everyone was so f-ing cool and happy to be there it was just a great overall vibe. thank you, humans.....for restoring some faith this weekend. xoxoxoxoxox

I am so looking forward to coming to So Cal this week. I am leaving tonight, gonna drive. It takes 9 hours. I will probably stop in Fresno and sleep. Being up here in Northern Nevada, I have learned that the little world of LA is quite the bubble. The thing is, while you are in the bubble, it feels like a universe. It seems like the rest of the world is on display for us and we are at the center of everyone's universe. I have enjoyed the lack of high speed races to the next red light, the smiles on the street from strangers, and the long walks on the Truckee River with my crazy dog. Mostly, I love turning on the radio to hear the morning local news and not having to hear one report of any celebrity dui during the night, nobody's body gaurd is suing anyone, and Paris Hilton is not even on our radar. Who can imagine a world without Paris!? Having said that, I miss LA, Orange County and the good old IE. I miss my friends and I hope to see many of you later this week. If any of you read this and you are around, I have some shows, 2 open to the public in santa ana and anaheim (see the schedule) Miss you.

Why am I still seeing this man's face on my computer, tv and newspaper? What ever happened to the good old days when Richard Nixon stepped down with his tail between his legs knowing full well he had dissapointed a nation? Is it that important for him to still think he is the Governor of IL? What good does he think he is serving? what a joke. I think I am ready for anarchy now. Can we vote on that?

It seems like at the end of each year I feel like something more should have happened in the prior 12 months. I hate that feeling. I mean, isn't it good enough to just be healthy, have good friends and family and be able to do the things we want to do? One thing I am going to resolve to do next year is appreciate the every day things..you with me on that? have a happy december and try to keep the road rage to a minimum
peace and more peace,
Kirsten
