CHUCK BERRY 80TH BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE CONCERT FEATURING NORTH AMERICA'S ONLY CHUCK BERRY TRIBUTE ACT - MONKEY BUSINESS.
Monkey Business, the 6-piece rock and roll outfit, will perform an entire night of Chuck Berry's classic songs at Cadillac Lounge, 1296 Queen St West in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday, October 14, 2006. It will be a Las Vegas-style tribute to Berry who has almost single-handedly pioneered rock and roll music and will mark the legend's 80th birthday.
The event also coincides with the recent release of Berry's classic 1986 birthday tribute concert featuring Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt, Etta James, and Robert Cray concert on DVD. The band has performed yearly tribute shows in the spirit of this popular film for several years often inviting special guest singers and even encouraging audience members to sing alongside the band onstage in what the band calls "Chuck Berry-oke".
Monkey Business is the only Chuck Berry tribute act that North America has ever seen. Lead singer and guitarist and Chuck Berry look-a-like /sound-a-like - David Callender, has studied the music and mannerisms of Chuck Berry for several years. When he assumes the role of "Chuck", every riff, duckwalk and sequined shirt is authentic. David is the featured entertainment in various "Legends Of Rock and Roll" -shows that pay tribute to the rock and roll stars of the 50's and 60's. "I thought it was time that musicians honored Chuck the same way we do Elvis", says David. "The music of Chuck Berry is truly timeless and can get any room of people of any age up on their feet dancing"
The concert will begin October 14, 2006 at 9:30 p.m. at Cadillac Lounge, 1296 Queen St West,
(416) 536-7717.
Admission will be $5
