Hey - thanks for reading.

We've just finished our second EP and we're really happy with it even before the mixing. We recorded it in Sankeys Soap again with Dave Thomas and battered through four tracks in one and a half days. Most versions we chose are either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd take.....so no over working the medicine.....as we've been playing some of these tracks for a few gigs now it really paid off and we belted through things....same as the first EP we hope that energy translates into excitment coming through the speakers.

The tracks we did were :
1. Back off Man I'm A Scientist. This is a track we've tended to open live shows with....it has a super ambient start and it's a good way of clearing the air and 'resetting' before we begin to do our thing....the recorded version is just as unhinged as the live version - so hooray
2. Leave UR Mind Where UWant 2 Pick It Up. Anthemic but not in a Bono way - it's the one with the chorus that goes "Sometimes you've got to sin a little bit"
3. Blowin Up Tryin 2B Somebody. This is a little juggernaught peppered with acapella and plenty of grind....it has that ride in a stolen car feel like Kick THis Habit and we might make a vid for it.
4. Vigilante Man. A proper noir urban tale of Manchester with a deliciously crafted bassline setting the mood among the unease. If this one isn't in the next big Hollywood horror movie then we just don't know what's happening with the world.

We arrived around Lunch to meet Dave Thomas our recording engineer for this and our last EP. Here's our stuff... it's a mixture of old and new gear, digital and analogue, basically anything we like the sound of we try to balance all the different sounds.

Once set up we do a few run throughs for Dave to get the feel for the tracks properly. We mic'd up the kit in the dead room and all played live from outside. Once that was done we generally overdubbed the vocals or any other guitar parts we wanted to get a second shot at...

Recording went fairly smoothly with few hiccups and constant banter between us lot and Dave, he loves it.... see

So - it was a blast - the medicine factory doesn't look like it's going to run dry anytime soon and we hope that this puppy moves us forward the way  'No. 1' did.

If you're reading this we thank you - leave a little comment, come to a gig, say hello....dip your toe this summer.

More gigs - bigger stages - and a little piece of those radio waves.

Hello readers and thanks for reading! We do quite enjoy reading these reviews and we'll keep posting every single one we can find, good or bad. We're just happy to be raisng a few eyebrows and agitating a few village folk. If you are a critic actually doing some research on the bands you're writing about then thankyou and congratulations, you're doing your job. We'd like to remind you that we are a 3-piece from Manchester. We've extracted a few bum nuggets from these reviews to dump on our front page without context, but here are the full reviews.... enjoy and please feel free to comment! TGH

Hi everyone and thanks to everyone thats reading this, it means your paying attention, which is good. The gigs are always getting better for us and we hope theres a few of you out there starting to notice us now. We're gigging super hard to secure an aggressive takeover of Manchesters ears and to form some sort of steady fanbase round these parts. A fanbase upon which dreams are built! Here is a bit of news for the arse end of May:

You mean you still haven't seen us?

17 May 2007 8:00
Electric set @ Uluru, Chorlton Manchester
Our plans to rock the Chorlton boat.

23 May 2007 20:00
Blue Cat Cafe Stockport, Northwest
Stockport missionaries.

25 May 2007 9:30
Hide and Seek festival @ Dry Manchester
3 days and like a million bands, we're playing on the Friday and this event will be amazing make no mistake.

28 May 2007 20:30
@ Eurocultured festival, Manchester
This is the mini festival that takes over the road where space and font and thirsty scholar etc it. Loads of amazing 'street art' (what a crap label), and we'll be rocking out in there somewhere. Follow your ears.

Also we are now booked in for the recording of our not so long awaited 2nd EP with Dave Thomas.
We'll be recording another 4 tracks: 'Leave yr mind' our sure fire hit of the summer, 'Blowing up' our finest moment of accapella psychosis to date, be warned, 'Back off man I'm a scientist' if you've seen us live this is usually our opener where we proper wind you up with the synths and finally 'Vigilante man' a tale of St. Anger and stoving burglars skulls in with steam irons.

Hope you are all well wherever you are. Hope to be in the same room as you soon, Drongomala, Sinik and Tree aka The Good Hurt.

Aye aye....

Thought I'd drop a blog on an upcoming event we've got coming up which is a little outside the norm of our usual gigging ... (you can always get the latest info from our MySpace)

FRIDAY 11TH MAY 2007 5:30pm THE KOFFEE POT
FUTURESONIC 2007
21 Hilton Street, Northern Quarter M1 1JJ, Manchester
just off Oldham Street
admission - free

It's an acoustic gig with some guest spots by our musician buddies as part of the Futuresonic Festival 2007. (Drongomala played it last year as part of ElectroRaga). The Koffee Pot is a little bohemia den in the form of a cafe and it's a bring your own booze affair but to help you get 'started' we will provide a paper cup of punch to all entrants. That's right - the bloody summers cummininnit? ;)

Guests hopefully appearing on the day alongside TGH are : TheWhatSupreme (rapper), Brother Ghazi (rap), and Annette (vocalist) and more. Our idea is to have a bunch of friends we know come down and play with us and swell our normal electropunkrock 3 piece into a bigger acoustic crew for the evening. We'll have a VJ there too visually pulsing on a secret primitive theme - he'll be broadcasting directly on us and our new clobber.

Things begin early at 5:30pm and we've managed to get the place to stay open a little later so things finish off at around 8:30pm. Dig It.

We'll be promoting the night with a live session on All FM with Caroline on her TeaTime Sessions show on Wednesday 9th May from 5:30.

This is a one off for The Good Hurt - like some sun solstice shit- don't miss it.

So we got round to editing this audio from the session we had in January with Caroline from All FM. It was effectively our second gig - she saw us play our first one @ Shuffled Club. We also shot some video of us doing this radio spot and one day we'll get round to putting that up;)
