Current mood: accomplished
I'm writing to plug an excellent play I saw last night at the Walnut Theater called "Sidewalk Cafe". It was written and directed by Philadelphia's own Darnelle Radford and was presented by the Represented Theatre Company. www.represented.org/
It really was one of the best plays I've seen in Philadelphia so far, so I'm suggesting that all of my mypsace friends should attend it, if you're within driving distance of Philadelphia. I'm going for a second performance tonight. "Sidewalk Cafe" is funny dramatic, emotional, and excellently acted.
The play is running Thursday-Sunday from 4-21 December, 2008. I'd suggest that you buy tickets soon, because seating is limited in the Studio 5 at the Walnut Street Theater. The show is at 8 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and at 2 PM on Sundays.
The Walnut Theatre's address is:
Walnut Street Theatre 825 Walnut St (9th St and Walnut) Philadelphia, PA 19107
More information at: www.represented.org/
The cast includes:
1. Daniel Stroiman............ Emery 2. Erikka Walsh................. Hilly 3. Nicholas Troy................... Alan 4. Ken Sandberg............... Edwin 5. Jeremy Hagan............... Leon 6. Mary Arden................... Sarah 7. Ryan Walter.................. Starr Steven
Enjoy!!! Heath

Current mood: energetic
I was witness to an amazing musical event at the Village Vanguard in New York City two weeks ago when Cecil Taylor and Tony Oxley took the stage for two Saturday night sets that made me wish I'd been there for every set they did all week.
Words cannot describe how great this show was, so I won't try to do so. I noticed that there were microphones recording the performance; I hope someone releases this duo's work.
Our second Leo Records release was slightly delayed but we'll be finishing it soon, and it should be available in March or April 2009. We will have an excellent bassist joining us on this recording.

Current mood:hopeful, but concerned about America’s future
Category: News and Politics
My best friend has been doing some excellent, thoroughly researched political blogging. This is an important election for issues like health care, social security, a woman's right to choose, the war in Iraq, funding for the arts and music, the economy, and many other issues that are important to me. I would imagine that many of these issues are important to many of you as artists, as well. I was going to start blogging myself, but my friend is doing such a great and thoughtful blog, that I am choosing to ask that you direct your attention to his work at: www.hotfreepress.com
He is doing some excellent work with statistical analysis (he's a scientist) and showing what the polls are actually saying and is giving some great information about the lies that McCain and Palin are telling the American people--the same lies that Bush has been telling us for eight years. So again, please visit: www.hotfreepress.com
If you're interested in your country's future, I hope you'll pass this information onto other interested people.
