By Alan Kelly.
1) Charles Bukowski said “Some people never go crazy. What truly
horrible lives they must live.” How often do you slip in and out of
sanity?
I’m bi-polar and suffer from Aspergers and drink like a fish. This can
lead to interesting situations. Other than I’m just a regular guy.
2) “Funny how gentle people get with you once you’re dead” is a quote from Sunset Boulevard. How would you like readers to treat you and your work, once you’re dead?
I would like them to house my canon of work in a temple and worship my writing as a deity.
3) What is the longest stretch of time you’ve spent writing without stopping?
Seventy two hours. I was on a speed crack and alcohol combo. I finished 50,000 words, the basis of my first novel, The Drifter. It will never be published. Its my opinion that drugs do not aid creativity and my first novel is stunning proof.
4) What is the strangest thing that has ever happened to you?
Being born.
5) Name one period of history where you’d liked to have been present and one person you’d liked to have had at your side.
Mexico, Aztec era, at the arrival of the conquistadors. I would’ve had
the treacherous Dona Marina at my side and ideally I would have been
Montezuma. I would’ve done a Rambo on Cortes and Mexican history would
be completely different.

Got bored and set up a new website. In Search of the Lost ElationEventually, envisage just using this as my online communication portal, as one site seems more dignified than four five or six that I have now. Too Much. joe r

This Friday, 25th September at the Betsy Trotwood I will be reading from my debut novel, Last Days of the Cross published by Grievous Jones Press , alongside fellow GJ Press stablemates Melissa Mann and Lara Konesky who will be reading from their respective debut collections of poetry, Baby I'm Ready to Go and Next to Guns!
There will be book signings, tee-shirt signings, tit signings, raffles for free copies of the books, and then general partying until chucking out time. For all you 24hr party people, there's an all dayer at the very same venue the following day, so if like me you plan to stay out for the duration, you will be able to party on down well into the early hours of Sunday morning. Just be prepared to rock and roll right to the very bitter end!
Adios
