Wow, this was a busy weekend.
Friday, Brittany, our oldest Grand daughter had her 13th birthday party at the swimming pool with a cookout, which was followed by an overnight with a few of her close friends. She shared her swimming party with a younger friend that the family has known for years. It was a good turn out. Lots of food and then off to the swimming pool. Fun was had by all, even those of us that did not get wet, on purpose. LOL Her birthday is actually on the same day as her Great Grand Dad, but when you get to a certain age, you get to start having separate birthday parties. LOL Brittany shared her parties with her Great Grand Dad for many years. Up until he went into the nursing home, they shared every birthday together. Now Great Grand Dad can not get to all the parties, but we always get him a party, too!
This year, Daddy, Grand Dad, Great Grand Dad, turned 90 years old. We girls called and emailed family and friends to come help him celebrate. So on Sat. June 21, 2008, we celebrated his birthday with his family and friends. There were 45 plus folks that came to wish him well. Even a few of his buddies that live there with him in the Veterarns, came in an shared cake and laughs with us all.
After the party, Bruce & I met our friends, Charlotte & Lee, in Paoli and we all went down to Thackerville. Ray Stephens was in concert there. Lee & Charlotte got tickets and invited us. It was great. We were laughing most of the time that he was on stage. He did a couple of serious partiotic numbers that brought most everyone to their feet. He is a very good performer. I bought his DVD of his old hits.
Bruce and I went to the Windstar Casino that was there and ate. We gambled a little, but it was such a huge place and they were very expensive so we left. We got $10.00 free play, because we went to the concert, but that is pretty much all they got from us. The Buffett was wonderful though.
Sunday our niece, Rhonda, called and asked if we would come have dinner with her and Kerry, her hubby, to celebrate her birthday and their anniversary. We went to Applebees. For the first time in a long time, I enjoyed their food.
So all in all, we had a very busy weekend. Go Go Go Go, that was us and everyone else in the family. A big family is the only way to go. We can fill up an activity calendar pretty darned quick. LOL
This coming weekend, there will be the Relay for Life in Lindsay. RoRo will be running some of that. We are going to try and get down there to help. Then on Sat. we have Bruces 40th class reunion from Southeast High School. I hope that it will be fun. Next month, I have mine. ? Wow, we are getting old.
I guess activity is what will help keep us young. LOL
I love my family! I am so glad that we are as close as we are.

It was a good day, all around.
We got up and got our day started at 8:00 a.m. By 9:45 a.m. we had made my run to drive Miss Doris to work, sold all those bags of cans that I had been saving. ($13.65) LOL
Then we had breakfast and spent some time at home before the birthday party for our youngest grandbaby, Whitley, she is now ONE Year old.
The party started at 1:00 with a little hitch because we had to change locations, but that was ok. Whitley was all dressed up in her Princess Hat and Sash. It was pretty hot, but most seemed to far pretty well. Whitley sure perked up when she got into her play clothes. Pretty party clothes can really hold a girl back. LOL
Aunts, Uncles,Cousins, Grandparents, Great Grandparents and even some Great Aunts & Friends, and oh yes, even a squirl, but I miss getting its picture, it was faster than my camera. LOL I took lots of pictures like mommy Reba had asked and some of those can be seen on my myspace pics of my grands. There were over a hundred of them, so I did not post them all. I know, what kind of Grammie am I if I don't post them all. I will just have to change them out a few at a time. I finally got a picture of all eight of my grandchildren together. I just love it. Usually, someone is missing or just does not want to be in a picture.
I have to save room for pictures from Brittany birthday party this coming weekend and Grand Dad's party, also this coming weekend. June is full of parties. Rhonda's birthday in also this month, but she has not told us what she is doing for her birthday. Just because it is also her wedding anniversary, she will probably want to spend it with Kerry...LOL
Well, it is Father's Day already, so I will wish all my men folks a Happy Father's Day with Love!
Mom~Cheryl

Current mood: mellow
Well, it is a gloomy, rainy and muggy day. I sure am glad we got the yard mowed yesterday. Bruce called me this morning and told me this rain is all my fault, because I washed both cars yesterday....LOL..I guess he is right.
We went to have dinner with Daddy Sunday afternoon. When we got there Jana & RoRo (my sisters) were already there. We found them in the cafeteria just where Jana said they would be when we talked earlier on the phone. Daddy had to go to his room for a little bit, so we finished out meals and took his to him. There is a very nice sitting area just outside of his room with tables, sofa and a TV. Daddy finished his dinner and we all talked for a while. Daddy had to go back to his room so we all said our good byes, got our hugs & kisses & went our own ways.
Daddy is really looking forward to his birthday party. He thinks all the great grandchildren are all grown up. I told him they were growing, but they were still young and living at home. LOL
Welll, it is time to fix lunch for my girls. Jessica & Jordan are ready right now , but Whitley is content right now since she had a few swiggs off her bottle. LOL

Wow, it is getting hotter and hotter out there.
I woke up with cleaning of our car and truck on my mind. By 8:30 a.m. I was on the go. First, the truck. I went and washed it nice and clean. Then the explorer was next. After about an hour and a half, both were shinny on the out side. Uck, now there was the inside and the windows. Yes, I do windows....LOL The dash boards and mirrors were the easiest.
I have been in the house cooling off for about 20 minutes so I thought I would kill some more time on the computer...lol
All I have left to do to both vehicles is the carpets and floor pads.
My dearly beloved is mowing the yard and when he gets done with that, we are going to just flat take the rest of the day off to ourselves. Yep, if it doesn't have to be done right now, it can wait until Monday. lol
Bruce came in for a break and we are talking about going to have dinner with my Dad. The foods not great but it put a smile on Dad's face when any of us walk in the cafeteria. Of course then he has to introduce each of us to all the gentle people that are eating with him. Some yarns get told while they are at the dinner table...each trying to out do the other one

I knew that my grand daughters that stay with me while their parents work were going to be bored most of the time this summer. Their ages are so different that they do not do a lot of the same things. Well, J & J do, because they are closer in age. W is not yet a year old and not walking, so she is getting left out a little. I got a little swimming pool. I blew it up and filled it with water yesterday. J & J got all ready and I slicked them down with sun screen and out in the yard they went. Well, that went over like a Lead Balloon with Miss Whitley . She is used to having Jordan in the house with her all day and then when Jessica would get here from school, she had both of them. When they both went outside to play, she went into a crying fit. That was about twenty minutes ago and Whitley is still mad! lol Her daddy said she could not go in the water, so we are having to watch through the window.
Ok, the girls came in for a moment and Whitley is happy as a lark. They played with her for a little bit and back outside they went. This time was not so tragic. Whitley is just sitting and watching the front door.
It is going to be a long summer! LOL J & J are going to have a blast. Whitley will get used to them coming and going in and out. She lights up so when they come in, that is so sweet.

Well, we have had a busy couple of days.
Sunday morning at 2:11 a.m. Angela called to tell me that Danny was being trasported from Lindsay Hospital to Norman Hospital with chest pains and heaviness. >YES< we beat them all to the Norman Hospital. Of course, we live closer, too.
Danny was held over through Monday (today) and took a stress treadmill test. He just contacted me a little earlier to let us know that he is on his way home and the test was negative. "Praise God"
I have been having some issures with my heart for a few months now and I was already scheduled for a Chemical Stress Test, today at 1:00 p.m. , so I could not be there with my son. Well, I can tell you this much, I DID NOT LIKE THE TEST I HAD. IT HURT LIKE THE REAL THING, I WILL TELL YOU THAT. WOW WEE. I have not heard from my doctor as yet and probably will not for a few days. Unless he sees something in the test when he reads them tonight that concerns him. Then she said he would be calling me as soon as possible. I am claiming everything is fine. Praise God.

"My Big Sister" is one of the finest people that I know!
Her name is Rhoda Lynn, nicknamed (RoRo) by my oldest child, Danny when he was only two.
We have lived close and we have been far apart in miles, but even when we disagreed on something, we are always sisters. We love, we hurt and forgive. That is family.
No matter what life throws at RoRo, she takes it in her teeth and she deals with it. My sister is a strong Christian Lady. She loves God and her family. I am so proud to be RoRo’s sister.
We have had lots of fun & some heart ache in our years as sisters, also lots of up and downs, but even though we each handle these things differently, we have always known that the other was as close as a phone call.
RoRo is going to have her 60th Birthday on March 31, 2008 and I am so proud and honored to have shared 58 of those years with her. We are going to share in her celebration with her family and friends on Sunday March 30th.
I Love You RoRo.

EASTER is upon us again. I have seen children running through the stores yelling I saw the easter bunny, mommy I want that easter bunny. I want that chocolate candy. I want that spiderman or that princess easter basket. HEY, what happened to the Jesus part of Easter? Don’t get me wrong, I am in the bunch that does the eggs, for the children, but where is the story of Jesus. I don’t hear that from children anymore WHAT IS EVEN WORSE, I DON’T HEAR IT FROM THE ADULTS, EITHER. That breaks my heart. There was a LITTLE BIDDY END CAP in Wal Mart the other day for the JESUS part of Easter. There were Four Long Isles of Junk for the easter bunny. I did not even find that much in the drug store or Target. The Dollar Tree is just as bad. LET’S PUT JESUS BACK IN EASTER! HE DID DIE FOR US!
