CHRONOLOGICAL DISORDER REVIEWS
With Dead-Kennedys-style punk rock sensibilities, these guys throw a nonstop, powerful, and delightfully snotty assault at you. It's the sound that truly defines rebellion, and they blow up everything in sight with their ultrafast, hypersonic smart bombs. They have been around forever and opened for the timeless greats. Can't go wrong if you like your punk to give you the middle finger at blazing speeds

Holy moley, the kids are all right… at first I swore that this was a re-issue of some band from the early '80s that somehow I had never heard of. It's fast and biting, with a snotty sense of humor and tunes that, instead of getting old, get better with every listen (even if some of the riffs are markedly similar to riffs that I have on other records, but when you're working with only four or five chords, tops, you'll wind up covering some old ground: cf. Big Drill Car's almost note-for-note reworking of a Brigade song on Album Type Thing). The titles may have made me groan at first ("Vicious Killer," "Don't Belong," "My Neighbor Hates Me," "McAnarchy," et al.) and wonder what kind of rehashed crap-trap I had found myself in, but dang it all if they didn't pull it off. This certainly isn't the record of the year, but I doff my cap to Narcoleptic Youth for making me feel fifteen again.

Certified punk since '92, Narcoleptic Youth has been pissing people off for over a decade with their brand of old school punk. Yes that's right this isn't your MTV version of punk. It's raw with plenty of attitude in its '77 glory with one hand on the throat of the Dead Kennedys and The Damned. Most of the tunes on this particular disc is comprised of their singles, B-Sides, and rarities with several tunes totally out of print. If you're in the mood for some real punk rock, than look no further.

Snot nose punk rock that has been around in the scene for over 12 years or so. I've heard of their name before but never listened to the music. Seems like a pattern in these reviews huh? Come on, I'll admit I'm not a professional and claim to know all. This band, to me, sounds like how punk was back in the 80's and I like that a lot! The Cd is a mixture of new songs with rare b sides, and early material. There's plenty of tracks on here too! If I had to compare Narcoleptic Youth to any bands, I'd compare them to The Business, Hugh Beaumont Experience, and Misfits and other bands from the 80's. This was a good CD to listen to, and it makes me reminiscent of the past.
Bottom Line: Old school styled punk rock that's got some dope ass songs yo!
Notable Tracks: "Barbi in Bondage" "86 the Crap" "Politically Incorrect"
Overall Rating: THREE out of four STARS!

The record/Cd covers some previous recordings put together by the on-stage mayhem called Narcoleptic Youth. I highly recommend this CD for two reasons: For the love of rock'n Roll, and For the Need of something different in music today. These songs pave their own road, and give the listener life. The band blends new tunes, fun, speed, and humor all together. This collection is better than good, and the price is cheaper than breakfast. FIVE out of five stars!

As you might guess from its name, "Chronological Disorder" is a collection of acclaimed punk band Narcoleptic Youth's singles dating from 1997 - 2002. Everything has been re-mastered and, for the most part, sounds great, although there are some tunes that are so roughly produced one can imagine the band in a garage somewhere with a handheld cassette deck. Okay, maybe not that bad, but you get the point.
If you're unfamiliar with the band, this is a great collection to introduce you their humorous slant on politics and life in general. Unlike too many other bands out there, Narcoleptic Youth realize that politics can be a joke and should be treated as such even when it's a life and death situation. Make sense to you? Then this CD may just be the soundtrack you've been looking for in the background of your life.
But be warned: Narcoleptic Youth is authentic punk. It's loose, it's rowdy and it lives on attitude. If you're looking for radio-friendly pop punk here, you'd best look somewhere else. THREE out of four STARS!

More than a decade of performance experience has allowed Narcoleptic Youth to create a distinctive appearance and sound. This is how they stand out in my mind after seeing them almost a year ago in Southern California. They sing and scream about "Barbi in Bondage" and your "Mini Van Soccer Mom," yet they still fall under the category of punk rock. These guys are so out there that they fit right in.
Chronological Disorder includes songs that, after making your heart race, leave you with a smirk on your face wondering how this eclectic compilation made its way to CD. Songs include every subject from anarchy to crayons and back again. It is hard to imagine that it could be done, then again if you have missed the chance to hear or see Narcoleptic Youth their style is hard to understand.
Songs avoid violating innocence but stick to the basic roots of punk rock throughout fast songs and intense vocals. If you are into entertainment while you listen to music, then give Narcoleptic Youth a chance.

This is more my style. It got me hype and made me want to destroy shit. The cd is packed with 22 songs (most of which range from 54 seconds to over 3 minutes), but it doesn't really matter how long the songs are, I like them and I think you'd enjoy them too. I didn't get a bio so there's nothing really else to say. Check out their site and see what mp3's you can download to hear em. FOUR out of four STARS! – Forget the phone bill! Buy this at any cost!
