Been a long time since we rock n'rolled. Playing this Friday October 16th at a new spot in Hell's Kitchen, Bar 9, booked by our friend Lee from Magnetic Field. Also playing are The Live Ones, one of the best punk rock AND ROLL bands in the city. Should be intimate and fun and FREE PIZZA from 9 - 9:30. Hope you can come down. Ben.

Sunday August 16th will be guitar day for Brought Low album #3.

The following equipment will be used and abused:

1976 Gibson Les Paul Standard
Recent CIJ Telecaster ’62 Custom Reissue
Gibson SJ 200
80s Marshall JCM 800 50W head
70s Fender Super Reverb
70s Orange pics only head
Various Marshall slant cabs
70s Music Man twin
Fulltone Fat Boost
Fulltone 70s Pedal’
MXR Phase 90
Maxon AD9 Analog Delay

So far these are some of the best guitar sounds I’ve ever gotten on record (Orange + Marshall + Les Paul = the sound of Christ returning to crush Gog and Magog and usher in the new times of eternal joy and salvation) so I am very  psyched to get busy with the Schneid.

Started recording the new Brought Low full-length with the esteemed Mr. Andrew Schneider whose production talents have graced the likes of Cave-In, Pelican and Unsane among others.  So far got drums and bass done on all songs which are fierce and bombastic and the few guitars we've cut are already sounding huge and mean.  We am psyched.

Hey all,
I just posted 2 new pre-production demos for Brought Low album number three on our profile here.  We cut these completely live in our practice space so the sound quality is a bit wanting but we thought the performances and songs were good enough to share so hopefully these will tide you over until the end of the year when the new record comes out.

The songs are
"Time Will Come" and "Mattie Groves".  Any resemblance to any other similarly-titled songs is entirely intentional yet well within applicable copyright laws and statutes.

Special thanks to Chris Peifer of Garageland NYC who manned the laptop.  Chris also plays bass in the wonderful Another Saturday Night who we're playing with Saturday April 25th @ Trash Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn along with Federale, Mighty High and Cleveland's Suede Brothers.  Should be a sick show and we hope you can make it down.

THE BROUGHT LOW are very proud to be sharing the stage this Friday with Detroit's mighty EASY ACTION, featuring the paint-peeling vocals of John Brannon, singer for hardcore legends Negative Approach and the equally great Laughing Hyenas.   Also appearing are fellow New Yorkers A BUNCH OF GIRLS

In other news, we're now over halfway done with in the writing of the new full-length, due out this year on Small Stone Records, so expect to hear us play lots of new songs.

Until next time...

Did this interview with Mr. Gideon Smith of The Dixie Damned for Cosmic Lava webzine a while back but guess it only just got posted.  Everything is still pretty much up to date though we currently have 6 songs finished and more a comin' for Brought Low record # 3 which, God willing, we'll record and release this year.

Anyhows, you can read me talk a bunch
here:

In other news we're very excited to be playing with Detroit's mighty Easy Action next month here in NYC at Rehab and saddened by the passing of Detroit's mighty Ron Asheton.  Heaven just got a little dirtier or something like that.  Rock on brother Ron.
