If you're messaging us about singer tryouts, here are some guidlines. We can't respond to you if you're not our friend and have that particular setting on your account. Please send us links to hear and see who you are in your initial message... saves us time. We get pages of singer messages a day and we can't respond to them all. So if we never responded its not cuz we don't care or you suck; we're just looking for something in particular. And understand that we're not some gigantic band with a tour bus parked outside our mansion. We're regular dudes stuck in the shit economy just like you, and CIty Sleeps (part 2) is gonna take time and effort to relaunch.
To tell you the truth we have 2 projects in the works. We need a singer with a pretty, distinct, melodic voice who can pick up an acoustic guitar and work on songs with us... thats City Sleeps. We are also breaking from that and working on a new alter ego project with heavier material. Think ACDC meets the Used. For that project we're looking for someone with a raspy, dirty, higher range voice who can scream if need be. We have tons of material and no singers... so keep sending us messages and links. Hello all!!! Tis the season to be... broke? Whatever your winter solstice celebratory preference may be, we want to wish you a Happy Holiday! And by the way, City Sleeps has a new bass player and possibly... a new singer. Those updates will come soon into the new year. Its gonna be gradual, but worth the wait! We have some nice surprises for you all: more City Sleeps material, unreleased video, and a New Secret Project! So stay tuned, and be Excellent to each other.

We haven't forgotten about you all waiting or wondering what's next for us. We're honestly taking a bit of a break to pick up the pieces from what's been destroyed, to relax for a minute, watch the election etc etc. Its been a hard road traveled thus far. But we have some tricks up our sleeves and new music being brewed up. Oh, and we're not breaking up. It started with John (London) and I, and will end that way I'm sure.

I also want to take this opportunity to wish Steve (Milo) the very best in his future endeavors. Bless his heart for all the time he spent down here in the dirty south with us for so long. And also, best of luck to our former singer Elliott Sharp in getting the help he needs.

We have had a wonderful response so far from our fans and friends in regard to finding a new singer. We have a few guys in our scope, but keep sending us your links and input. We are also looking for a bassplayer, but you must be local. Much love...

City Sleeps

Ok, so we've all seen the American Idol tryouts, so please excuse the honest brutality of the auditioning situation. City Sleeps is looking for a dude 21-31 years old with an original voice, must be able to write lyrics and music, must have knowledge on how melody works and not be a whining "emo" singer, must have a good look and be in decent shape. You must have a positive attitude and a lot of drive. Previous touring experience would be nice. We aren't looking for a copy of our last singer, just someone compelling. You must be willing to move if necessary, spend your own money on things, and work hard... being in a band can be hard work. Its not a hobby, its a lifestyle.

If you think you meet the correct criteria then please send us a myspace message with your info, links to previous band pages, youtube videos, etc. Fans... if you know anyone that you think would be good for us feel free to bug them and send them our way. Just think, you could be responsible for putting together the greatest band in the whole world ever!

City Sleeps is parting ways with our singer Elliott Sharp "Ely Dye". This has been a really difficult decision to finally come to. For some of you this may come as a shock. And for those of you who have attended shows or ever met us it probably isn't a shock at all. It has been a long and difficult journey while in this incarnation of City Sleeps. Lots of great memories, and really bad ones as well. So that being said its pretty obvious that the band will be on hold for a minute while in search of a new singer/frontman. We don't expect this change to be an easy one. But we also don't give up on anything.
We appreciate all the support throughout the years and all of our friends and loved ones who have been there every step of the way behind the scenes. You have all helped us to be confident in our decisions and aspirations. To the fans... in which we are indebted to and aim to please, we are writing tons of new material and hope to relaunch this thing all over again as soon as the universe permits so.

So, Saliva has been gracious enough to take us out with them for a second time... and we're stoked to see all our fans, and make new ones along the way. There are more dates, yes including West Coast, to follow shortly. It will take us to LA to shoot our new video for Not an Angel... so keep on the lookout for that. Also, to our UK fans... we are planning to come back in a couple months so get ready for round 2!!! We will be posting some video blogs from the road for your entertainment.... and make sure you register to vote! Peace out!

I guess its time we finally say something about this... City Sleeps parted with Brady Allen in early January and we're now a 4 piece. With Milo switching to bass, there's a whole new energy from the stage. I guess you'll just have to come see for yourself!
