Just a quick note to all that THE SECRET GAME are set to perform their last show for the year as part of the Launch for the Foghorn Records presents Grow Your Own: Upload Vol.3 Compilation CD.

The band wish to thank all for their help and interest during the year and look forward to a big fun 2010!

Hey peeps, after a few months traveling to various places interstate and overseas The Secret Game are back to where they began in SA later this week for 2 Youth-style Events.

Thursday 22 October
Salisbury Youth Council is holding a youth event at the Salisbury Interchange.  The afternoon will include interactive stalls, info, fun activities, live music by The Secret Game and Partners in Rhyme, + DJ and sausage sizzle, all FREE!
3pm - 7pm

Doco....

Crafty has been painstakingly slaving away at his computer (like the true geek that he is) and he’s whipped up a “Making Of…” doco of the band’s recording experience in Bali.  His work’s paid off, it looks great, and I’m not just saying (typing) that.   I think you’ll have to judge yourself though.  The vids (Part 1/Part 2 and Trailer Version) are up on YouTube but it’ll be easier viewing them on the myspace here.....

After recently launching their debut EP Ayo! Lets Go! in Adelaide and Darwin with great success, 3-piece SA band The Secret Game are returning home for one show at the Crown & Anchor Hotel on Friday July 10 with local legends Quiet Child and Melbourne’s The Red Tree. ....

 ....

The youthful enthusiasm for travelling is immediately apparent with the band as their six track EP Ayo! Lets Go! was recorded all the way over in Bali, Indonesia, and mixed in Brisbane's Blackbox Studio by ARIA-winning producer Magoo (Spiderbait, Regurgitator, End of Fashion, Midnight Oil, Pnau, Butterfingers).....

 ....

So due to this personality trait, once the CD had been launched in Adelaide (earlier this year in March), the guys set their sights for spreading their music to Darwin, Northern Territory.  This resulted in 2 successful launches (1 All-Ages & 1 Over 18s) and even a slot supporting Jimmy Barnes and The Presets at the huge V8s Race Festival (Darwin equivalent to the SA Clipsal Race).....

 ....

Now if that wasn’t enough excitement for these 3 lads, a publishing deal with JL Music Publishing was signed during the Fuse Festival which resulted in a song from the EP Sacred Scratch being included in successful Adelaide Film Festival movie "Offside".....

 ....

During their quick visit home the guys are also devoting their time to help out some young upcoming musicians by giving some Music Workshops.  A Songwriting and Percussion Workshop will be held at Twelve25 Youth Enterprise Centre on Thursday July 9, and a Recording and Music Industry Workshop at the Northern Sound System on Friday July 10.  All 12 - 18 year olds looking to get that next step up in the music industry are urged to attend the relevant workshop best suited to them, or go to all!....

The Secret Game are busy preparing for the imminent release of their debut EP ‘Ayo! Let’s Go!’ at the Crown & Anchor Hotel on Friday March 20 with Double Handed and Booster. Considering the six track EP was recorded in tropical Bali, and mixed by Magoo (Spiderbait, Regurgitator, Pnau, End of Fashion) at his Blackbox Studio in Brisbane, it’s fair to say these well travelled guys are more than a little excited about setting it free!

Let’s set the scene… In 2005, Close Call guitarist/vocalist Crafty performed his band’s last show at the Crown & Anchor Hotel. Bags packed, he travelled to Darwin to temporarily fill the vacant drummer position in the NT band NEO. There he met Jol, a great bass guitarist who shared Crafty’s love for all things Devo and Regurgitator. Jol was also planning on a move to Adelaide. A new band was created and the search for a drummer began.

This took some time, so the guys ran Open Mic Jam Nights and played as an acoustic duo in the meantime. Ben came on board in 2007, and the band performed a few low-key gigs, but the general feeling was to wait until a recording was ready before gigging around the city of Adelaide. However, they did pop up around SA as winners of the 2008 BOBfest and also sharing the mainstage of the inagural Elizapalooza Festival with the Funkoars + The Getaway Plan.

The Secret Game really wanted to make their first recording unique, and what a better way to do it than record in a studio in a non-English speaking country! Crafty hadn’t even been overseas before, so the band’s first significant recording experience in Bali was an extra special one. Whilst there, they were invited to perform amongst Indonesia’s top acts at the ‘Global Warming Benefit Festival’ at Kuta Beach to an audience of 5,000 people.

Ayo! Lets Go! was mixed in Brisbane's Blackbox Studio by Magoo - the producer behind Spiderbait, Regurgitator, Midnight Oil, Butterfingers, Pnau, End Of Fashion etc.

Now if that wasn’t enough excitement for these 3 lads, even before this CD has been launched a song from the EP Sacred Scratch has already been included in successful Adelaide Film Festival movie "Offside".

Ayo! Lets Go! is now ready to be heard, sold, and thrown at anyone trying to leave during The Secret Game’s set! Come and celebrate this new beginning with them at the same place where Crafty’s old band left off + other legendary SA acts Double Handed and Booster are gonna rock out too!

There's a big All-Ages gig on at Brown's Mart Theatre this Saturday November 29th.  It's called VET 'N' WILD and there'll be heaps of bands starting around 7pm til around midnight-ish.


Come along and join the madness as it quite possibly will be the last show for THE SECRET GAME in 2008.  Hope to see ya there!

Hey SA peeps!

Just letting you know that this Saturday will be the last time you can see THE SECRET GAME perform live in concert.  Many thanks to everyone making it a good year for the band, you just wait til 2009 is here though.  Wow.  A new CD to release - exciting stuff...

Oh yeah anyway (sorry got sidetracked there) come to the Crown & Anchor Hotel on Grenfell St, Adelaide this Saturday November 8, 2008.  THE SECRET GAME hits the stage at 11pm after Candida 10pm + Crash Tragic (NSW) midnight.  FREE ENTRY.

After months away from home, escaping the cold SA winter, THE SECRET GAME return for a mainstage slot at the 'Elizapalooza Festival' Sat, October 25.  The boys will hit the stage around 5pm.  Other bands include The Getaway Plan (Vic) and The Funkoars.  All-Ages - tickets through VenueTix.

That's not the only chance to see them though, an over 18+ gig is organised for Sat, Nov 8 at The Crown & Anchor Hotel w/ Crash Tragic (NSW) + Candida.

Hope to see you guys there - yeah? YEAH?!  :)

Hi everyone,

There are 4 new songs by THE SECRET GAME up (unmastered versions for now...). These songs were recorded in Bali and have been mixed by one of the band's fav producers 'Magoo'. Please comment on which ones you love/hate etc.

Oh and in case you're wondering, these songs will hopefully be released sometime before the year that Marty McFly goes to save his son from being arrested in Back To The Future II...

Come and support the dudes from THE SECRET GAME in an effort to win a Battle Of The Bands event at The ICE ARENA in Adelaide, SA on Sat, Sept 8th. THE SECRET GAME is the only band playing on the night, however, as every band that competes plays on a seperate night.  Then, the bands with most votes will get into the final later in the year.

So come along! Have a ski/skate and listen to a band at the same time. It's gonna be coooool, and you can help THE SECRET GAME by coming along and voting.
