We are back home in Austin after 3 weeks of Festivals and shows in France and Norway.  We had a great time and met lots of music fans and really friendly cool folks but it is good to be home.  And there's no better homecoming than a Saturday night show at one of the Lonestar State's most famous venues- Luckenbach Dancehall in Luckenbach TX.   We start at 8:00 pm but get there early to have some dinner,grab a cold one in the shade of an Oak tree, or just stroll around and check out the historic little town. There is live music from songwriters and pickers going all day, plus it is FREE to get in.  This is a real Texas Dancehall so bring your boots and your dancing partner and come on out.  Now that's Country!

"BEND IN THE ROAD"    is the new cd from Mark Stuart & the Bastard Sons.  Scheduled for release September 22nd on Texacali Records and distributed worlwide through partnership with Dualtone Music Nashville.    Why the name change you ask?   Well, after 10 years and 3 cd's I feel it is appropriate now that Mr. Cash has passed on to no longer use the name.  It is out of respect for his legacy, his family, and his friendship, thatI felt compelled to make the change now.  Also, there are many Johnny Cash tribute bands popping up all over the world, and I don't wish to be confused or identified with being a tribute band.  I have, and always will be, an original songwriter and touring artist with my own voice and my own songs to sing.  I hope you will continue to support me and my music as you did the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash.  Check out new songs from the cd on the Myspace page and give me your feedback.  I look forward to hearing from you and bringing my new cd "Bend in the Road" to your town soon.  I hope you enjoy the tunes and truly appreciate all your support.  Sincerely,   Mark Stuart
