The venue is the Pulse bar in Barnsley (
www.myspace.com/barnsleypulse ) and the night is run by B.O.M (Barnsley Original Music). We are a community group of volunteers who's aim is to promote live music in Barnsley. Unfortunately we do not have the means to cover expenses or to pay bands as we are all volunteers and we do not charge on the door to get in. We also run a massive music festival called BOM FEST. (

www.bomfest.com ) which is now in its 6th year and this year was listed as one of the top 100 festivals in the U.K. Over the years we have had the pleasure of hosting and bringing to Barnsley such acts as TOM HINGLEY (ex in-spiral carpets) NICK TURNER (ex hawkwind) the mighty SENSER and NICK HARPER. We also use our Thursday nights as a way for bands to showcase their talents for a possible place on B.O.M FEST and or any other events that the B.O.M team do. B.O.M fest is also run by volunteers. We also have our own community studio and rehearsal room which is priced at community rates.

BIGSOUND PROMOTION ARE DEDICATED TO GIVING BANDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY AND BUILD THE BANDS FANBASE IN THE LOCAL MUSIC SCENE.
WE WILL CONSIDER ALL TYPES OF ORIGINAL MUSIC.
BIGSOUND UK WAS SET UP IN 2006 BY SEASONED MUSICIANS WHO HAVE A INTIMATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE AREA AND THE BAND SCENE IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND. THE FIRST VENUE WE WORKED AT WAS THE ARCHES IN BARNSLEY. SINCE THOSE EARLY TIMES WE HAVE BOOKED BANDS AND PROMOTED "UNDER THE BOARDWALK" IN SHEFFIELD WHICH PROMOTED LIVE BANDS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK.
WE LEFT THE U.T.B. IN JANUARY 2008 DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL AND HAVE NOW TAKEN RESIDENCE AT THE PULSE BAR IN BARNSLEY WHERE WE ADMINISTER THE THURSDAY NIGHT BOM NIGHT IN ASSOCIATION WITH BOMFEST (www.bomfest.com - www.myspace.com/bomfest)
