The Great Climate Change Debate Heats Up!

Or is it cooling down?

Last month was the hottest month on record for this discussion.
This month, the debate is taking a backseat to other "hot button" items.
Next month, it is expected to warm up; but no one knows where.
Annual totals are the hottest on record; but from time to time during 2009, the Great Climate Change Debate has flip-flopped between hot and cold.
So much for conclusive evidence.
Maybe if we ignore it, it will just go away.

The Global Ice Consortium recently released an official statement of their perspective on this historical debate.  The frozen water's report on the situation was exactly four words long; and contained the following words.

"Drip, Drop.  Tick, Tock."

Political analysts of all camps have swarmed across cyberspace and television to join the discussion.  Building consensus is not their industry.  Their work as a collective group serves to dissuade conclusion.  Scientific websites meanwhile, will tell you what's happening and how; but not if, when, or why.

So much for the information age.  I'm glad I don't pay for television.

Frustrated, I walked outside and inquired upon a nearby bird.
Birds survived the last ice age, so they must know something.
He tilted his head, shrugged his wings, and flew away with the following answer.

"What to Say?  What to Say?"

I spied a group of kids playing in a sandbox nearby, and I approached them.
Whitney Houston might be right.  Assuming the children are the future, then maybe these kids could fill me in on what to expect.  Instead, they ignored me completely as I spoke.  They were throwing sand in each other's eyes, and pulling hair, and smashing the castles they had built.  Obviously here, the Great Climate Change Debate was frozen, while emotions were boiling.  A boy stomps on a girl's plastic shovel, which prompts words from her brother.

"Don't Stupid!"

And so the Great Climate Change Debate heats up, cools down, takes shape, loses steam, gains traction, and gives up ground.  It's lost the way; but it's still on track.  One step forward two steps back.

What to say?  I have no idea what to think.

All I know today is that it's raining again.

Drip, Drop.

Tick, Tock.

Cough cough...sputter sputter

If you have the chance, stay away from the swine flu vaccine.  I don't care if you have had years of experience with flu shots.  I have known many people in my life who have defended the annual influenza vaccination process.  Most of them become sick on a regular basis.  Never mind that influenza is a mutating virus.

Another way to look at it is that you SHOULD get a vaccine.  You should allow yourself and your family to be willingly injected with whatever it is that large corporations have created to immunize you against the truth.

The truth friends, is that fear is threatening your well being. Like the avian flu of 2003-2005, this particular virus has been engineered to scare you.  Sometimes the truth is so brutal that it tends to cause us more duress than the lies.  If you are so accustomed to believing what your TV tells you, then I encourage you to receive this vaccine willingly.

After all, what do you have to lose?  Your kids?  Your Life?  Many in the world are willing pawns for the unknown.  Such is the power of H1N1.  You watch TV.  The plague is less a reality of germs; and more a reality of how the TV thinks for you.

But we're so busy!  How is a working family, barely struggling to survive, supposed to survive an onslaught of media and injected chemicals?

A simple solution is to extend your middle finger and take a chance.  But does that work in the present day?  I think the lethal virus gambles that your fear will prevail.  You WILL buy Tamiflu in large quantities.  You WILL ignore nutrition and sleep and common sense and you WILL give into fear.

I have a very simple message for the H1N1 virus:  FUCK YOU

I will use soap and water regularly.  I will not mingle among large groups of fearful people.  Fear tends to create problems in the body.  If you let fear win, fear will win.  Should you choose to take a few days off work to sleep and rest; this silly virus will have no power over your life.  Unless you receive your flu "shot".  You have no idea what is in that syringe; although there are many who will allow it into their body.

Does writing my thoughts suggest that my immune system is invulnerable to H1N1?  It might; but it mostly suggests that common sense (if you still have any) is far more powerful than a bioengineered virus.  Most people will give into their fear.  It is the nature of the times.  Perhaps you are smarter than that; but if you depend on traditional sources of information, then your survival is highly in doubt.

The times are upon us.  How each of us responds is up to each of us.  Will your kids get sick?  Will you get sick?  A lot of what happens to you and yours depends upon your choices.  TV will play both cards, because TV benefits from your uncertainty (it means you will watch more TV hoping for a clear answer).

For lack of a better way to express the sentiment, a lot of people are losing their shit.  You can easily be one of them.  It is much less difficult to give in to the pressure being communicated to us than it is to think for yourself.  But there is soap and water.  There is Lysol spray.  There is such a thing as eating decently and getting a decent night's sleep.  There is also such a thing as pulling your kids out of school as a preventative measure.  Maybe it sounds crazy; but the Looney bin is full of people who were afraid to take sensible risks.  Cough cough.  Sputter sputter.

I realize that this may sound kooky; but it's all we've got.  Make your choice and make it now.  If you have already received one of the supposed vaccines, maybe you will be ok.  The most important part is that you avoid a diet of fats and sugars; and allow yourself enough sleep to boost your immune system.  Even if you have been notoriously unhealthy, there is still time to change.

Other elements cannot be ignored.  Asthmatic children are especially vulnerable.  I don't have my own children; but I love the ones I know like they are my own.  This virus - if and when it takes hold - can cause heartbreak.  There is no shame in being a concerned parent; but if it comes down to your child's survival, then pull them out of school.  They will learn a lot more in the long run if they are not infected with the fear of the times.   Whatever you know to teach them at home will be enough.

I will not accept fear as a ruling force in my life.  The times (I feel) have been designed to confuse our intrinsic common sense.  In many cases, the sinister plan has worked very well.  What remains, above all, is trust in God.  That trust is a bond which works both ways.  You can vaccinate your family with unproven chemistry or you can hold out with faith.  When faith weakens, hope will overtake.  When hope is lost, there will always be love.  Personally, I will take my chances with H1N1.  Where there is true love, fear cannot exist.  Death of loved ones does not change the love in a person's heart, unless a person allows their heart to be jaded.

Swine flu (flew) over the cuckoos' nest.  It's another version of a hurricane.  If you can hunker down and wait it out, things will be ok.  But if you put your loved ones in the path of a nasty movement, then there is little hope, fickle faith, and the power of love is compromised.

Turn off your TV.  Get some more sleep.  Be good to yourself.

A trillion dollars and nine years later, the radical warfare in the Middle East has not been quelled, only relocated.

So now what?

That's the five trillion dollar question.

I'm reminded here of the lyrics to a song by a British punk band whose name - fittingly - is The Clash.

"Should I stay or should I Go?
If I go, there will be trouble
And if I stay it will be double"

The options being considered, as I understand them, are as follows:

Option #1:  Bring home our soldiers
Option #2:  Send more soldiers
Option #3:  Use remote devices to keep the insurgents running

If we leave Afghanistan - if we simply withdraw our forces and bring our soldiers back home where they belong - there will certainly be trouble.

But if we stay, expect it to double.  Here's why.

The Taliban is doing a better job destroying America with our continued military presence in the Middle East.  Add another fifty or hundred thousand troops, and we have suddenly provided our enemies with the opportunity to wipe out a substantial portion of our armed forces with nuclear attacks and disruption of supply lines.  As things go now, this war is crippling our American way of life.  Look around.  In case you haven't noticed, things have been getting steadily worse since 2003.  We have been murdering innocents in foreign countries.  There is no such thing in this world as an incidental casualty.  Try and explain American strategy to an Afghan father whose infant daughter is crippled from a drone attack.  Sorry about your village sir; but we did manage to kill a dozen Taliban fighters in the process...

In many eyes, our nation has become the ultimate hypocrite.  Preaching freedom while killing thousands upon thousands of innocent people is downright shameful.
Try telling a mother whose family has been shot in a raid that freedom isn't free.

I have personally come to detest that expression; because it has become an excuse for atrocity.  Not a single American alive today knows what it is like to be invaded and occupied.  I pray we will never experience that; but if we do, then most of us are going to be doing what the folks in the Middle East are doing.

Truly, I love the United States; but I fear the arrogance that has pervaded our culture.  Lest we forget, the war in Vietnam was lost.  Scores of generals came forward with bold, new strategies to win that war.  None of it worked.  That war nearly destroyed civility in America.  Our National Gaurd ended up killing university students.  The wounded who returned were often broken - in body and mind - beyond repair.  The cost of that extended war was so great that President Nixon was forced to take our currency off the gold standard.

At least in the modern times, our current commanders acknowledge that there is no fail-safe strategy.  Meanwhile, everyone in America needs to be aware that while our soldiers are dying and bankruptcies proliferate, the People's Republic of China has stayed out of the fray.  If I were a Chinese leader, I would be delighted by current American strategy.  We are making ourselves weaker while they quietly grow stronger.  We are failing financially, while they are buying property and resources around the world.  Their military power grows, unburdened by conflict, while some of our soldiers are on their third tour of duty.

China neighbors Afghanistan, as does Iran.  We need to remember that.  Even while morality is not the dominant platform for American guidance, a complete withdrawl of our forces from the region is reasonable by standards of economics and common sense.  Our soldiers can be much more useful to our nation by working domestically to fortify our borders.  Our clean energy economy could quickly jumpstart a new prosperity if these skilled men and women were employed within our borders to mitigate damage from climate change, and build new energy infrastructure.  With the money saved by having them home, it is entirely realistic that we can re-create our transportation networks and clean up the environmental travesties which stain our beautiful lands.

Nearly five thousand American soldiers have died.  Worse, in my opinion, are the wounded.  That number is over thirty thousand.  We are still at a point where we can absorb these tragedies into our society.  Push it further though, and we stand to destroy our great nation.  The legless, the armless, the blind, and insane.  These are miserable existences.  We cannot afford to tax our families further with theses enourmous burdens of heartbreak.

World War Three is a ways into the future; and likely to begin in Asia and the Middle East.  Our geography - seperated by oceans - is a distinct advantage to our national safety.  But only if we use it.  Right now, we're not using it; and the effects are worsening in everyone's life.

The only option for an enlightened future is to pursue the moral high ground.  Thankfully, this moral high ground also preserves dollars and sense.  When a true enemy presents itself, then we can be prepared and ready to kick their ass.  In the meantime, there is no further room for misguided crusades.

Successful democracy requires courageous leaders.

Bring 'em home Mr. President.

Dear President Obama,

I am writing you this evening to wish you a happy birthday.  I am a month late, and so I will not cower behind the term "belated".  I heard you chilled out in your crib with your peeps.  I also heard that a group of schoolkids sang you happy birthday from across the White House.  My hope is that you found inspiration and comfort in these moments of happiness.

My thank you is based mostly upon your character, President Obama.  The world has expected more of you in eight months then it has of any leader in the past thirty years.  In eight months, you have countered much of the damage of the past eight years.  You have maintained the peace, and the people will honor your peaceful intentions.

I am working to become a teacher Mr. President.  Your integrity has inspired me to invest in the future of this world.  You represent the people, as a president should.  And you have earned every penny of your salary.  There are many in this world whose families earn more than yours by producing less.  Thank you for respresenting the people.  I reject those who attack you.  They have dumped their own problems on your shoulders.  A captain cannot steer the boat and repair the hull.  Please know you have all the help you need.

Thank you for being such a gentleman in your job as representative of the people.  You are a thoughtful man.  I read your book: The Audacity of Hope.  I listened to you take office as representative of the people.  You already knew you were walking into a big mess.  You did not complain; but rather sought to elevate our spirits.  From what I understand, you wrote two books before becoming president.  Our previous president was not a big fan of books even though he married a librarian.  Our previous president was angry at his father.  You wrote Dreams of My Father for a man you barely knew.  Your grandmother died when you made history.  I did not see you cry.  I saw you empathize with the others around you who suffered.  I watched you bring an old lady a cupcake on her birthday.  You are a class act President Obama.  We are lucky to have you as our leader.  The people of the United States of America are lucky that you are president.

President Obama, you have told the United States of America the truth.  You have not downplayed our difficulties.  In fact, you have prepared us.  I am grateful for your honesty; and inspired by your integrity.  The world needs straight talk.  Thank you for standing strong.  You have many standing strong behind you as well.

Sincerely,

Tom Schimmel

It can easily be said that a National Health Care Option depends upon a healthy population.  As a nation, the United States leads the world in gluttony.  Like pollution and energy use, poor health is not a good category for leadership.  So let's look at our own leaders.  What is the overall level of Congressional fitness?

The National Health Care OPTION provides the opportunity for all Americans to access health insurance.  In Congress, there is a staunch partisan resistance on behalf of the Republican party.  I find this both strange and disheartening.  Strange because most members of Congress enjoy their National Health Care Option.  Strange because many members of Congress would not still be alive if it weren't for their government health insurance.

Meanwhile, I am disheartened because many Americans have quit thinking about Liberty.  I understand that the inscription upon our Statue of Liberty reads "Give Me Your
Tired, Your Poor, Your Hungry".  Truly, if the wealthy leaders of our nation have forgotten to care for these citizens; then the Statue of Liberty itself becomes an idol of hypocrisy and a hollow testament to the pitfalls of wealth and authority.

Liberty offers compassion and humility.  Liberty elevates our spirit when we lend a hand to those who most need help.  If the leadership of our nation cannot unite under Liberty, then we have not progressed at all from the feudal systems of the last millenium.

Have our riches emptied American souls of humility and compassion?
Has the TV impregnated American minds with selfishness?
Has Liberty been lost to the darkness?

Within the pages of the Bible, Jesus of Nazareth proclaims that "The Body Is A Temple".  I do not see those words respected even by many of our leaders whose prosperity depends on Christianity.   I see gluttony and poor health among many at the top.  Perhaps they could tour the darker corners of their own districts and witness the hardships that many of their fellow countrymen endure.  Unlike the feudal age, we have sufficient infrastructure to provide for our people.  Private health care could certainly benefit from some competition.  Many providers suffer from ineffeciency.

We have lived through thirty years of mostly unbridled self-interest.  This has left in its wake, the problems we are working through today as a nation.  Technology cannot produce compassion for the less-fortunate.  Wealth cannot purchase empathy and goodwill.  These things come from within.  A National Health Care Option is a necessary act of Liberty.  It is the right thing to do, to care for all the people in America.

Members of Congress and the opposing members of the Republican Party:   If you say we can't afford a National Health Care option; then the greater truth is that America can't afford you.

THE CLEAN ENERGY REVOLUTION
Why Now Is The Right Time

Across the United States and around the world, the earliest effects of global warming have already decimated economic prosperity.  The expenses of repairing and replacing buildings and infrastructure from tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes are already outpacing our ability to recover economically.  Farmland is being destroyed.  Insurance companies are paying out more than ever.  Your TV is blaming just about everything else except climate change.

Global warming is just beginning.  What we have seen in the last ten years is just a tiny taste of what's to come.  The clean energy revolution has the purpose of slowing down the change to a more manageable level.  The polar icecaps will melt, but the severity of this impact is up to us.

Climate change happens naturally; but it is our human impact which is accelerating it dangerously.  Human infrastructure produces an incredible amount of heat.  Think about summertime gridlock anywhere around the country.  Think about air conditioners, tar rooftops, and blacktop parking lots in July.  The heat we produce makes the polar icecaps melt faster than ever.  The weather goes haywire.

Either we re-create our energy system and focus on efficiency; or Earth will recreate our economic model for us.  That's a nice way of saying that our present system of economics will be destroyed by the elements.  Ask anyone in New Orleans if they concur.  They probably do.  When the Gulf of Mexico starts backing up into the Mississippi River because of sea-level rise, a great deal of states are in a lot of trouble.  The clean energy revolution offers a genuine opportunity to preserve our nation.

I watched the House Minority Leader (John Boehner from Ohio) on C-Span yesterday as he dissected the first draft of this historic American legislation.  For the most part, he did a good job pointing out poor wording, and his concern over added beauracracy.  These are valid points.

What was also evident, is that the Minority leader did not understand  many of the benefits of clean energy.  It concerns me that there is so much supposed opposition without considering the alternative consequences.  The reasons for the clean energy revolution are primarily survival.  Unfortunately, the level of awareness is so poor and misinformed, that it has to be sold economically.  These days, that is admittedly a tough sell.  However, it should be noted that investment in the future is the only way to guarantee a future.

I am a big picture guy.  I picture a dozen Katrina scenarios around the country all at once, and I am ready to act quickly.  I see flooded farmland as a serious problem for food supply.  I see a roadway system that is unsafe, unaffordable, and unsustainable in the face of nasty weather.  Are we going to wait until everything fails?  If we do, there will be no opportunity to make things right.  We are lucky to have some time as a nation.

Republicans live in the same country as everyone else.  As a group, they are uninformed about the consequences of climate change and also the savings-benefit model offered by the clean energy revolution.  Representative Boehner was ignorant of a balanced and blended model.  Geen investment matures over ten years.  It creates significant energy savings.  The returns are most indeed profitable.

Another way to look at it is that building oil wells and nuclear reactors will take ten years in itself.  By that point, human pollution and thermal output (the heat from our machines) will have tipped the scales beyond Earth's natural capacity to balance it.  Republicans are worried about jobs lost, when re-creating the energy system will employ the entire nation.  The physical world itself is changing.  Successful economics relies on the physical world.  We have to change with it.

The clean energy revolution is already underway around the world, and probably in your backyard.  We already have the technology to reduce human impact on Earth by 80%.  That's right.  80%.  A lot of things are simple. like cleaning up, and growing plants to scrub the air and shade our homes.

So what do you get if you support this most important bill on climate change?  Does anyone actually want to breathe dirty air?
North America has the highest rate of cancer deaths in the world.  Asthma is also a serious problem.  Curbing pollution saves incredible amounts of money.
Some of the biggest benefits are clean air, water, and land.
Economically, this translates into affordable health care.

Representative Boehner from Ohio may be under the illusion that his resistance is saving our children and grandchildren from debt.  Yet he would speed our destruction through his willful ignorance.  I cannot see how poisoning future generations will save any money at all.  The costs will likely be even higher if we pass along a legacy of pollution and destruction.

The clean energy revolution does not seek to shutdown the industries of coal and oil; but rather to create clean alternatives over the next decade.  That way we can enjoy a less-abrupt and more-prosperous transition than that offered by natural disasters.

A new kind of nuclear power - called FUSION - is on the way.  It is mostly free of deadly waste. In the meantime, the megawatts from solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power add up.  There is also the natural gas home energy system, which produces heat and electricity independently.  That way, when the next storm rolls through, you still have heat and lights.

Republicans - and anyone else who seems opposed to clean energy - should consider that even some coal mining companies are re-training their workers for solar and wind installations.  General Electric, Dupont, Target, Wall Mart, 3M, and a million other companies have already begun their transitions.  The economic interest is certainly there.  The United States Air Force is the nation's largest consumer of wind power.  And government buildings DO in fact have the ability to lower prices for consumers on solar panel and wind turbines by purchasing in bulk.

We will still require oil and coal for awhile; but he less we use now, the more is available over the upcoming years.

I wish both insight and wisdom upon all members of Congress as they make the historic energy and climate change bill into the best law possible.  God bless America!

Here's the deal America.  Your "unsinkable" ship is sinking.

Whether you know it or not, you are already very fortunate that your fate is different from another unsinkable ship, called the Titanic.

Unlike the RMS Titanic, the United States made the wise choice to slow down and change course.  Now we are steering an improvised course with unknown obstacles.  We have also suffered great damage.

This has caused a lot of grumbling.   It is hard to avoid.

Some who have a true right to grumble have instead chosen to support their new captain.  They have chosen to help with steering and engines and repair.  Whatever is needed, is what they will do for their American ship.

Why is that?

Maybe because unlike the Titanic, we have absorbed some huge blows and we are still afloat.  We have not sunk.  Our survival has defied the odds; but there are many tests to come in the next decade for which we need to prepare.  United we stand.  Divided we fall.

A United States of America will not survive the next two years without a concerted effort by its citizens.  This fact is understood by many, criticized by others, and ignored by most.  Some seek to sow hatred and discordia, even though it is their own weakness of character which they demonstrate.  We don't have the luxury of cynicism anymore.

A point for those who have never experienced mutiny:

Take out the captain, and you're still in the same deep, icy water; but more screwed than ever.  Remove the officers and you remove the folks who know how the ship works.  If the crew begins to fight amongst itself, the damages to the hull will not be repaired, and everyone drowns in the most foolish way.

Swimming is a final and undesirable alternative.  The water is very cold and deep.

Meanwhile, we have a national ship to repair, enemies to confront, and obstacles to avoid.  These tasks are better addressed without a lot of cross-talk.  If you don't have any solutions to offer, and really don't care about the problems; then for your own safety please shut up and get out of the way.

Courage is putting your fear aside, and doing your job.

That being said, which kind of American are you?

Dick Cheney doesn't want you to feel safe.  He wants you to be afraid.  When you are afraid, or angry, Dick Cheney makes money.  So does Rush Limbaugh, but the radio show host is more like an annoying loudspeaker which boils the blood if one stands too close.  Mr. Limbaugh may be the voice of anger and opposition in this new century; but Mr. Cheney is the dark wizard behind the curtain.  Above any other human being in the United States of America, Dick Cheney is the supreme criminal.

Today again, I read that the former vice president seeks a national insecurity debate.  All of the major newspapers and websites spelled it wrong.  They should have read my blog.  When you are afraid or angry, Dick Cheney makes money.  His concubine of corporate subsidiaries - from general contractors to oil wells to security forces - are the ones which have profited most from the Iraq war.

Haliburton has since upped and moved significant operations to the United Arab Emirates.  The United States government was duped out of corporate income tax returns on their five trillion dollar investment by the very group that started the Iraq war in the first place.  I will point no fingers, but I still have my doubts about 911.  Haliburton was the corporate machine that moved the Iraq war.  You and I have our struggles because of it.  The Iraq war alone has cost five trillion dollars.  Make no mistake.  Mr. Cheney feeds on your fear like a wraith, except that he extracts both dollars and sense.  His private army has recently changed their name from Blackwater Security Forces to a cryptic title.  In case you didn't know, Iraq ordered the corporation out of the country.  This looked bad, so they changed their name to Xe (pronounced zhee).  These letters are the periodic symbol for the element Xenon.  The significance is elusive to me.  Xenon is known as a "noble gas" because it is extremely stable.  There is nothing stable about Dick Cheney, the Haliburton Coporation, or Blackwater Security Forces. They change name, identity, and allegiance.  They are anything but noble.  The former vice-president has indirectly orchestrated mass murder that continues to bring us all economic and emotional hardship.  His relationship to this miserable Iraq war is so intense, that his business has indeed become making you scared.  That is the kind of guy this Dick has become.

FYI:  Don't go hunting with Dick Cheney.  He might shoot you in the face.  It has happened before.  Was he the reason that the former president showed up on TV with facial contusions and abraisons in 2001?  It may not matter anymore.  All I remember is that it was a surreal television experience.  Shortly after the Saturday Night Live parody which demonstrated such aggressive behavior, I watched a single press conference of his. He spoke incoherently with a cast on his wrist and attempted sweeping air drawings to illustrate design changes to our country's military.  It was very disturbing.  Medication was definitely involved, but he never pissed in a cup.

More and more, it seems like former President Bush was groomed from boyhood onward into a circle of vile and corrupt power.  I have spent plenty of time not-liking the former president.  However, the arrow points more accurately to a Dick.  His trail is as murky as the ink cloud of an octopus on the move.  The ink cloud is the curtain which hides what the tentacles are doing.  Hundreds of subsidiaries (good luck IRS), the corporate name changes (good luck IRS and everyone else), the constant presence in Iraq (five trillion dollars and counting), and his constant warnings about what could happen indicate again that Dick Cheney has a dedicated interest in national insecurity.  Cause the problem, create the solution, use Rush Limbaugh as your loudspeaker.  I've had enough of doubt and fear and disinformation.  How about you?

"The Fall of The Taliban"
by Tom Schimmel

At three-thirty in the afternoon in local time, Osama Bin Laden scratched his balls and grunted.  He then reached for the remote control and turned off the sound to his flat screen.  The TV went mute, and he realized too late that some sweat from his crotch had attached itself to his clicker thumb.  He sniffed the remote control and winced at the piquant odor.  As all spoiled cowards tend to do, he used frequent outbursts of anger to compensate for acts of stupidity.

The remote control was not designed to fly, but it managed to survive a direct hit on the far wall of the cave.  The batteries would need to be picked up.  Ishwar could do it after he returned.  Bin Laden was eager for the next load of flash drives.  The new Western technology made it even easier for him to poison the infidels with fear and infect their personal lives.

Bin Laden was not a man with a personal taste for killing.  In fact he could barely stand the sight of his own blood.  This, along with the fact that he never felt loved or accepted by his father, may explain why he had chosen the career path of a cave-dwelling antichrist.

Through many years of meticulous study and research, Bin Laden had done two very important things for the people of Earth.  First, he had revived a scholarly interest in the Koran.  Muslims who had strayed long ago from their faith began in difficult times to pray more often, and even to read more of their holy book.  The Koran gave people hope, which they needed to survive.

Osama Bin Laden was born into wealth.  He did not rebel against it until his teenage years, when he decided once and for all that his father did not love him.  He did not like sports, or really any form of anything which required too much physical effort.  Reading was his thing, and his anger found a root to grow with him over the years.  He found his socio-religious arguments to be well absorbed by angry men and women with laptops and cell phones.  Many were willing to train at his camps and form his army.  It was his destiny to lead this jihad, this holy war.

Bin Laden had hated America since he could remember.  Every despicable and wasteful point, from lawns to late-night fast food, to Las Vegas caused him to seethe.  They were heathens playing a façade of following Jesus while they consumed twenty-five percent of the world’s energy growing fat.  Through his eyes, the West was the whore of Babylon.  She had corrupted the world with her lust, deceived the world in her greed, and led people astray with her mockery of God.

One of the roles of an antichrist on Earth is to catalyze growth.  The same is true of a messiah of life.  It is their means, and not their ends which make them mirrors of one another.  Osama Bin Laden truly believed he was fulfilling the prophecy of the Koran.  He believed himself to be the iron fist of Allah.  Years passed, and he had argued his common sense into a small dark corner of his brain.

Also hiding in that small dark corner was another truth about his life.  He was born wealthier than most any child on Earth.  Also, he was a sissy.  That is why his father did not love him.

Many a vile and murderous leader throughout history has been unloved by his or her father.  Many were not sissies like Osama Bin Laden, and many enjoyed the dark ecstasy of spilling blood.  Psychologically, the closing of the mind to affection produces the same effect regardless of what factors are involved.  It is always an open invitation for demons to enter.  Adolph Hitler was a perfect example.  Between his regression hypnosis and the psychedelic drugs, one of the most powerful demons on Earth had crawled into his noggin and taken over.  While the group called Nazis were stopped, it wasn’t before that antichrist had caused so much havoc and disarray that over ten million people had died.

Bin Laden had studied Hitler a great deal.  He knew a great deal about the strategies invoked by the former Chancellor of Germany, including those which had not worked.  The Taliban leader understood American tendencies and had capitalized mightily on the cowboy ego of a former president.  America had almost been finished, and quickly at that.  The United States of America had overextended herself dangerously; but she had not sunk.  She had righted herself, and in the process, was cleaning up her act with amazing speed and magnitude.  A large portion of Bin Laden’s genuine complaints about Western wastefulness and arrogance had been eliminated by the Western people in recent years.  Truth be told, America was stronger than ever, and engaged as a country to protect and promote peace for all.  Her people’s spirit and ingenuity seemed unbreakable.  Even her leaders now conducted their business in the light of day.  Their willingness to place aside personal and political differences had caught on quickly throughout Europe and most everywhere there was an internet connection.

In a manner similar to Hitler, Bin Laden was responding to the impending and total failure of his militant ideology by launching an all out attack on anything and everything.   He was having more and more difficulty convincing people to die for his cause.  It just didn’t make sense anymore to commit suicide and take a bunch of innocent strangers along with you.  Even in his own country, violence was increasingly frowned upon.  It threatened his popularity.  The tide of humanity was turning; and was demonstrating an increased resistance to fear.  The people of Earth now proclaimed often across cyberspace that they were no longer afraid of Osama Bin Laden.

Unknown to Bin Laden, his mission as an antichrist had already been accomplished.  His forces of fear and destruction had successfully catalyzed the improvement of humanity.  In the process, the demon had consumed him.  Osama Bin Laden found himself obsessed these days with a single, dark purpose.  No ideals remained, only hatred.  His fate was that of all other vermin who has played the role.  He had become the one he was fighting.  He was the demon.

When Ishwar returned with two thousand flash drives in thick, waterproof cases, Osama Bin Laden patiently prepared a multitude of files for distribution.   He loaded each group of flash drives separately.  The video messages were themselves a blasphemous interpretation of the Koran; but they brought obedience.  Within his recordings were other messages.  One handful of flash drives contained ultra low-res video and disinformation.  These would be leaked to the Western media.
Bin Laden would not accept help in loading the data files.  He was meticulous about his authority and willing to scream at anyone who questioned it, or even offered to help.

This time, even his own terrorist army would not understand what they were about to do.  Hundreds of redundant trigger codes lay hidden among the other messages and instructions.  Dispersed to India, Pakistan, Palestine, Israel, Syria, and North Korea, these digital storage devices would change hands many times.  The information within would be viewed by all along the way.

Bin Laden’s paranoid state was indicative of the heinous act he was attempting to orchestrate.  The demon inside him would only accept total violence as a final outcome.   Arming codes would contain only two targets:  Afghanistan and North Korea.  The target to the North was the U.S.-led coalition force.  Missiles and rockets would arrive there from all directions.  Attacking North Korea would provoke a hasty launch of their aging and untested nuclear warheads, which would veer off-course and destroy every ship in the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf when they landed.  The water from France to Sicily would boil and turn to blood.  The oceans would die.  The Earth would die.

Watching from the astral plane, Muhammad had kept his patience for a long time.  But now the demon had his human.  He watched the human smile as he thought of the destructive legacy he was about to leave on the Earth.  His evil smile was the proverbial straw which broke the proverbial camel’s back.  The people of Earth had suffered enough already.  Their faith would be severed with this act which vilified the prophet’s loving message.  After conferring with his younger brother Jesus, the prophet Muhammad paid a visit to the material plane.  His most promising leader of the new age was now attempting to nuke countries, oceans, and even densely populated cities in Europe and America.  The good words of Allah had been twisted into sadism.  Old stories of jihad in the last apocalypse had been plagiarized and then distorted to map the way for cruelty and discontent in the modern age.  Jesus had expressed similar anger over Zionist aggression in his name.

Even as the third world war showed signs of escalation, neither of the brothers had interfered; and for good reason.  Simply put, if either or both of them had appeared in public, they would be met with every form of resentment, doubt, and hostility that humankind had to offer.  And as a rule, each of the brothers had already spent their time on Earth, enlightening a generation or two back in previous millenniums.  Their words had allowed humanity to grow in the centuries that followed.  Even two modern wars had not failed to derail their guidance; nor would the third, which would be followed by a unification of human perception.

Osama Bin Laden sealed the multitude of flash drives in labeled plastic bags.  The waterproof bags were them placed inside larger heavy-ply plastic bags and then covered with simple burlap.  Anyone watching Ishwar leave the cave entrance would assume he was a simple Afghani peasant, making his way through the mountains.

Realizing that Ishwar had not fixed the remote control, Bin Laden rose from his pillows on the floor and mended the thing himself.  When it was finished, he again reclined in the large array of pillows and clicked on FOX news.  He watched a bushfire in Australia consume a large home, and he began to fiddle himself under his robe.  Then an ice storm sent by Allah to cripple the infidels precious electricity.  He began to grow erect, and began fiddling faster when an explosion of light and sound smacked him upside the head.  Bin Laden hit the far side of the cave wall with his semi-hard penis still in the grip of his fingers.  He awoke to find an extraordinarily strong man standing in front of him, looking very pissed off.

“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?” screamed the man in Arabic.  He reached down and scruffed Bin Laden like a kitten.  This time, the question was repeated at an even closer distance.  The leader of the Taliban was both terrified and confused; and demonstrated this by urinating and defecating on himself.  He remained several feet of the floor, dripping like a dysenteric whelp.

“Who are you?” cried Bin Laden, and felt the grip on his neck change to include his throat.

“WHO AM I???” screamed the giant.  “WHO AM I???”  He dropped Bin Laden to the floor, who mistakenly interpreted the action as a good sign.  Then the dark, muscular figure spoke, he spoke in a voice that had once belonged to an inquisitive teenage boy named Osama.  Through the mouth of a glowing giant, his own adolescence quoted the Koran.

“Then evil was the end of those who did evil, because they rejected the communications of Allah and used to mock them.”

Mohammed grabbed this hapless traitor by his robes and inflicted a type of discipline which requires very high status on the astral plane.  In the mind of his captive audience, memories were coursing though with mystifying speed and power.  The demon screamed, causing his body to thrash.  The arm of Mohammed did not tremble at the demon’s resistance, and merely waited for the demon to flee, which it soon did.  They always did once their host remembered love.

Had there been a camera of any kind watching the event, the comic book and anime industries would have had enough creative raw materials for centuries.  Fortunately, there were none.  Through a camera it would appear that a very tan and muscular man was strangling a man and also zapping him with some kind of special power.  Hence the potential boom in the cartoon world.  Perhaps the characters would have had special zap energy powers.  It’s hard to say exactly how many new characters might have sprouted, and easy to remark on the good fortune of its non-occurrence.

They would have missed the truth.  In this case, the truth was that in a span of about a minute, Osama Bin Laden had taken a high-speed journey through his memory banks.  The chronological path took the antichrist through decades of affections and kindness shown to him by others.  Juxtaposed with precision were paragraphs of his hypocritical poison.  He saw himself speaking falsely of Mohammed’s intentions to destroy the infidels in the west.  A lot of memory in a very short time, which, if aligned more closely with the actual experience would read like this:

Father kisses baby.  Young boy screams at father.  Father reaches out.  Boy withdraws.  A young woman offers her hand.  A rocket launcher.  A sister gives him a necklace.  He breaks it in front of her and smiles.  Reading the Koran.  Hating the purity.  Ashamed of masturbating.  Terrified of women.  A car bomb.  A training camp.  Forest arson.  A schoolteacher smiles and pats him on the head.  He hides a snake under a maid’s desk, and then spies on her while she changes.  Jihad.  Groups chanting and screaming.  Fire, smoke, screams, explosions, and finally, again his father holding his infant self above him and smiling proudly.  When the memories are finished, the demon and the prophet are long gone.  He is a shamed and failed shell of a man.

When the coalition force arrived, they found the Taliban leader in the same position.  He was awake and mostly unresponsive as a Polish special forces officer grabbed his hair to sit him up straight.  The commanding officer (a Canadian) confirmed that it was the computer’s GPS beacon which they had been following.  Within an hour, they had packaged up everything and begun their ten mile jog to rendezvous with transport.  The leader of the Taliban was treated with indifference by the team.  They worked calmly and quietly, and with a purpose that all of them would later describe as otherworldly.  The soldiers splashed water on his face when he would not drink, and then duct-taped him to a lightweight stretcher.  He was not dropped, slapped, taunted, or treated with any disrespect; but he died in the helicopter.  Generous efforts to resuscitate him were not successful, and twelve hours later, the American president told the news to the world.

“This great evil which for so long has plagued our world is dead.  Let his fate be a clear message to the darkness before it would return again.  We will not be broken.  Our spirit is stronger than yours.
We will always defeat you!!!”

And then later is the same speech,

“I call upon ALL people of the world to come together in generosity.  If you are the enemy, place down your weapons and unclothe your trickery, and we will accept you also as our family.  This is a time for humanity to create a new world of awareness.  We shall remember the pitfalls of history, and we shall step around them as we walk together to a place where our children may grow without war.  If we are to survive our future, we must prepare for the threats outside ourselves.  To accomplish that, we will all need to work together towards that goal”.

Later, many, including the president, would agree that he got a bit carried away there, but they would be laughing and enjoying a glass of champagne.  Tears of joy and amazement would also be shed.   As most intelligence around the world predicted, matchsticks flared around the globe for a few months.  The end result of these tiny but many conflicts was in fact a stronger peace, as the locals worked together to stomp out the fires.

The Pentagon was quick to rife through Bin Laden’s computer.  The specialists determined that since the man never left his cave, passwords must have seemed unnecessary.  Slews of arrests were made when INTERPOL received the extraordinarily precise details of briefcase dirty bomb strikes around the globe.  The final report was slowly digested by the media, who had a lot of backtracking to do once they understood they had been getting duped for over a decade.  Nonetheless, the leaders of networks and journalists concurred without argument that they should admit their embarrassment in a series of letters from the editors of major publications.  Also, the public needed to know the details of their deliverance so that the stories could be shared through generations.  It turned out the corporate cynics were actually deeply caring idealists who were inspired by the idea of working together.  As people around the world quickly discovered, it came quite naturally.

Almost”, wrote one editor “as if this is what we were meant to be doing all along”.
