Press Release – Mumsdollar farewell tour

Recent Vodafone Tui Award winners Mumsdollar are gearing up to take the show on the road for the final time.

Having been together for over 10 years, Mumsdollar have independently produced and self-released 5 albums, the most recent titled "Ruins" in 2008.  Over the years the boys from South Auckland have seen success in ..New Zealand.. and overseas including ..Australia.., ..America.. and ....Japan...., where the latest two albums have been hits.

The 2009 Tui Award has come as a timely pat on the back for the boys, who have regretfully decided to call it a day; the primary reason being that singer Ben Claxton is heading off on his big OE.  Rather than leaving everything up in the air on what will happen when Ben gets back, the boys have decided to close the gaps and call it a day.

Over the years Mumsdollar has received heaps of support from their core Kiwi fan base.  Mumsdollar would like to take one last chance to say a big thank you to all the fans and people who have supported them over the years, by going back to their roots with a ....North.. ..Island.... in early December 2009.  Unfortunately because of scheduling Mumsdollar are unable to make next year’s Parachute 2010, so this tour will be the final opportunity to see one of ....New Zealand....’s all time greats in concert.

A Mumsdollar performance is a memorable experience regardless of the occasion, and these last concerts promise to be even more electric than usual. Make no mistake, this will be an unforgettable tour that you cannot afford to miss.

The tour dates are:

Thursday 3 December – Tauranga (....Mount.. ..Mosaic....)

Friday 4 December – ....Hastings.... (Atomic Events Centre)

Saturday 5 December – ....Wellington.... (The Rock)

Thursday 10 December – ....Hamilton.... (Elevate Youth Hall)

Saturday 12 December – ..Auckland.. (Zeal ..West Auckland..)

With support from ‘The Jury and the Saints’ and ‘Sleeptalkers’

Tickets only $10, onsale Thursday 28 October from www.undertheradar.co.nz

Hi guys and gals..... if any NZ people could keep their ears to the ground. Getting your gear stolen bites the big one.

STOLEN BAND GEAR!!!

At about 10:30pm on Thursday the 30th of November, Hionas white Toyota Hiace van was stolen from Aviemore Rd in Howick, Auckland, New Zealand.

Inside the van was the following:

*White Gibson Les Paul Custom with Black pickguard, in case
*100 watt Marshall JMP 1959HW guitar head, in hard case
*Blue 16ohm THD Attenuator
*8x14, 40 ply OCDP Snare drum (Black with flame grapihcs), in hard case
*14" Zildjian A Custom Hihats, 16" Sabian Crash, 20" Zildjian A Custom Crash, 22" Zildjian Z Custom Ride, all in cymbal hard case
*Pearl Kick Pedal
*Red Ibanez Telman guitar with white pickguard, in case
*Teal Fender P Bass with white pickguard, in case
*Peavey Bass combo
*Hardcase with leads, a Boss tuner and ErnieBall 'Not Even' Strings
*All our merch including CDs and Tshirts

Thats around $15,000 worth of gear as well as personal things like CDs and Ipods. None of this stuff was insured. So any information to the where abouts of any of it, or if you see any of it for sale, we would greatly appreciate it. You can contact us by message on here, email at all_left_out@hotmail.com or 24 hours at 027 2240061

The snare drum is one-of-a-kind and the Marshall head and Red Telman are reasonably hard to come by, so these should stick out like a sore thumb.

The van registration number is YW4647.

Any accurate info leading to gear recovery will be duely compensated.

Here's something from the newspaper a few weeks back. Thanks to Joeh for bringing it to our attention.

THE MUSIC MAN
Onosa'i Tololima-Auva'a (Rugby Player - Auckland/Blues)

He takes his guitar on home games, and religiously hums the song Rescue Me by Mumsdollar in his head before running out on to the field of every game. And when Onosa'i's not psyching himself up with punk songs, he relaxes to Ben Harper and John Mayor. Music isn't his only passion. He's a smart cookie too, studying towards a Bachelor of Scinece degree at Auckland University, majoring in mathematics.

Nice to know we have friends in high places.
