This morning we departed hotel around 10:30am our flight was for flight to MADRID from ALICANTE was 1:35pm and we had to find the rest of the bags They were there, they got in after 1am Sunday morning and ask to keep them at the airport.

 ....

After getting to hotel we had a little time before we had to go to sound check....

I did not lay down today, stayed up did some e-mails and some face booking and before you know it, I was getting ready to go to sound check and stay for the show we left the hotel at 6:45pm for a 7pm sound check that took a little ....

Longer then it takes as the room had some troubles, don’t get me started on that it was not good and it came back to bite us in the buns doing the gig Sco was doing a guitar intro to someone to love and the active DI on the piano pick-up fried at first we though it was Sco playing with toys but then he looked at us,  I though it was my cell phone and went for it and it was off (I said not me) Sco said not me  and after about a 2 minute, it’s not me it went away we found out after the set it was the piano DI had fried, it did not mess up anything but the set took on another color and I was not sure if we were at all happy with it, we all played very well to great and all in between but something was not right, well you can’t win them all that is in side you, the people went nuts we hit a home run with them, that to counts to the buyers when that happens your phone will ring again, you will be back.....

Some times we want more from ourselves and go home asking why am I not feeling that this one got away from me, what could I/We have done better to feel that thing that only we feel, it is way better then the S’ word when it is on and we get to do it a lot more, smile. OK this could just be me, we had just played the 8^th show in 8 straight nights flying 7 of those 8 shows maybe we/I had just ran out of gas, we know how to play well even great on no gas it just leaves us/me not as happy, OK that my story and I am sticking with it. SMILE.....

I am writing this report at the airport in Newark as I set for my flight home with a almost 6 hour layover, don’t ask and no I could not fix it so I am here, across from the food court ya right just where I need to be, LOL.....

Hello It is 1:25am Sunday morning we just got of the stage about ....

A half hour ago, I will get back to that later here is how our/my day started. after I tried to go to bed last night and it did not work I stayed up because 5am was going to come quit and it did, I looked at TV till it came and was ready to leave and we did, our flight was for 7:25am we were on time but ran into trouble at IBERIA airlines @ LONDON /HEATHROW airport but Ben was on top of it or so we though we would not find out till later when we got off our sec flight from MADRID to ALICANTE, that our bags and gear did not get there with us, 

Sco, Cleary and I had our guitars so we could still play the gig Higgins cymbal did not make it and Sco’s pedal board did not make it, that made for a new look at what we were going to play and how it was going to get played, it turned out very nice, more about this later toooo.....

 ....

After getting out of the airport in ALICANTE, we had a 123 km  drive, almost 2 hours I am not sure well I took out my powerbook and started looking at Sanctuary from TV 1^st season, Pt. 1 it ran about 48 minutes our driver was going well over 140 mph I did get to see the hold show, we got to the hotel guess what no internet how can that be it is 2009 people where is the internet around the corner but they don’t open till 5pm our sound check was for 4pm a hour without internet OMG I am going to, LOL, no die, damm.....

 ....

OK so I did not die after sound check I got some internet in till about 6:30 came back to my room, I did not want to do it but I set my phone for 9:30pm wake-up call and I layed down, when I did I though we were going to play at 10:45pm so getting up at 9:30 was going to be cool and I can get to see some of our friends from home play before us, Cassandra Wilson had a few guys from home drummer Herlin Reily, on piano was Jonathan Batiste and Basses Reginald Vea, the other players I did not know but I wanted to see those three guys play, well I did not at 11:15 there was a bang on my door I got up and open it this lady said (you must go to the stage, I said I though we did not play till 10:45 and she said but it is 11:15, I said GTFOOH ran and put on what I had on all day remember we got no bags and ran to the theatre well turns out we were not to play un-till 11:30pm so I had 10 minutes to spear, that has never happen to me before is that what happen when you get to be almost 62 over sleep, I don’t like that, not at all, O getting old over sleeping I worked hard to get old and I want too enjoy it smile.....

We got on stage at 11:30pm to do a 80 to 90 minute set here’s what we ....

able to pull it off after just getting up, OK so I am cool with it, but this is where the night got good, remember when I said that our bags and gear did not get in ....

and that was we were going to have to play this music coming from not having 1) Sco pedal board with all his toys and sounds, smile, that ment he had to play just guitar tonight, I love this sh—the man and his ax, it does not get any better and it was great he played both guitars the pink strat that Cleary plays on Doctor and I fly away, and his baby, both have sound that only they have, well just lets say he did not let anyone down, I had a smile on my face the hold night. The rest of us came to play as well and play we did it was a great night of music without high or low tech electronics’, just the man and his guitar this was Scofields night. Smile’....

Friday, November 13, 2009....

I did not sleep again last night well not for any good time up and down it was like looking at a bad movie well I did look at a few really bad acting. I got up to stay about 4:30am checked e-mail talked to some friend on facebook and skype and about 5:30 went to the lobby to get checked out we left the hotel at 6am for a 7:15am flight, when we got there all was good for the first flight but for the sec flight from OSLO to LONDON/HEATHROW, Cleary, Porter, Higgins tickets could not be found and we had to checkin at BRITISH AIRWAYS In OSLO so you know what that ment we were the last to get on the flight middle seats for well guess who, that’s right ME, who did I p/off up there, I was just dreaming it I did not act on it, O’ too much info, smile.

 ....

We got into LONDON/HEATHROW early a little before 1pm, going though customs everyone was cool but a new lady though that our paper work was not all there and wanted to check with her front office, O’ this time it was not me it was Higgins but I was with another lady, and T’s lady stopped us Sco was though Ben was behind me so now we or on hold till little miss need to know come back about 10 minutes later she comes back and say what the other ladies had did let us though our papers were all right.

 ....

Getting out of the airport was not so bad but it took us almost 2 hours to get to the hotel, I though driving in NYC was bad LONDON has more cars on the street then any city in the world, well that is just a guess I don’t really know that and I know someone will get me told on this one.....

 ....

So I am setting in my dressing room before our set tonight it is now 6:53pm I am going to take a break and go for food and get back for the gig.....

The Cleary Family was out very strong and they loved their son and he loved Them right back very nice.

This trip is doing very good things for my mind and my soul it is music that makes you happy, all music should do that but it takes more then just the music I know that now and need to place myself in the middle of people that want to be there and bring it every night not just tonight but every night, that is what I need that is what I have found out here. ....

It is today Friday the 13^th I am writing yesterdays report as yesterday was a bad day for me there were parts of my body I did not know were there less on hurt, it was a ruff one.

 ....

Our day started well my day started at 6:30am that what time my cell went off and I got up and packed my bags and went down for food and be there when the band gets there, I found Cleary down there and Sco came down shortly after food was, I ant going to talk about it, you don’t want to know LOL.....

 ....

We pulled away from the hotel about 3 minutes after 8am not bad not going to tell you who was late got to COPENHAGEN airport late there was a mess on the road we sat in it for about 30 minutes started to get worried, we got there about 20 pass 10am could not get good seats we were late, so the first flight ....

to OSLO did not help my back the sec one was a little better but not great 

added to a bad day was that it was cold and I mean cold my long ones needed long ones, LOL, well maybe not there are somethings that should not be cold and it was very cold and I was not happy.....

 ....

OK we only had about a hour at the hotel before we had to go to the gig for sound check and stay for the gig, O’ did I say it was raining, BODOE/Norway was not only cold but it was wet tooooooooo.....

 ....

There is not a lot to say about the band that you have not heard already it is good and is getting better every night if we had a nother week we could go right into a studio and cut some great tracks because we are playing off eachother so well with more time, well we don’t have that so I wont go there but if we did, O’ yes it would be onnnnnnnnnn. so cold that the people are just very cool and only give it at the end.....

Wednesday, November 11, 2009....

This morning our day started for me at 6:30am but I did not sleep the hold night well I did go to bed about 11pm but was up at 12:50am and stayed up 

till about 4am after talking with Ara who told me to (GO TO BED) and I said yes dear, smile and I did got up at 6:30am check in at home, checked e-mails, facebook and was out the room by 7am it is now time for food.....

 ....

We left the hotel at 8:03 Sco was late, smile well the front desk was slow, very slow, 30 minute drive to airport and that when we found out that my ticket was no longer there, OK I tried to up grade my return home flight and got it but they also messed with my Europe flight we had to buy tickets and get what seat was left, not good for a 6’2 person last row on the flight for 1 hour 10minutes and then a two hour drive to ODENSE/Denmark, I almost died when we got to the hotel my back was in a mess I could not stand up stright took pills and fell in the bed and cried a little, I do that some times helps me ground myself, I am not a machine and I do hurt, some times I push me too hard, it is now 2:15pm.....

 ....

I slept till 5pm, lobby call was at 5:45pm sound check. I have to go time for the gig it is now 8pm.....

The gig this room was a very nice room for a club it is more like a events room with tables in it well I guess it can go boths ways that’s great sound was very good and the turn out was good also I am not sure why they did not sell more tickets they could have put a few hundred more people in there well maybe not with the tables.....

 ....

I can go on and on, on how good the band plays but you have heard that before so I am going to talk about how great I played tonight, smile got cha’....

 ....

No tonight it was Terence Higgins he was on fire he took us to the front of the room and did not let us tired old men go set down it was nice I for got my back was hurting he played so good, OK and the rest of us played good tooooooooo.....

I am going to go and get some sleep I think I will tonight 6:30 will come quit ....

 ....

After last nights 6:15 drive back to Berlin airport we parked right across from it and I went to sleep as the The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror part 1, played on 

I guess I will have to look at it again I don’t remember a thing I saw, LOL, we headed to check in about 8:15am and went looking for Starbucks well some of us funny. Got on our 90 minute flight to Stockholm and drove about a half hour got in my room why am I not laying down, I want to get in front of this day, now I am going to lay down.

After a short laydown this afternoon I was in the lobby at 4:45 for a 5pm sound check we ran over a few other songs that we did and was done by 6pm, doors were at 6:30 we took the stage @ 7:15 for a 90 minute set, one thing I will say this band can play and Sco like it when we play no one try’s to out play him but we come very close, smile’, here is what we played:

PORTER JR. TOUR REPORT - Day 4 of 11....

 ....

It is 12:40am Tuesday morning we are on the bus aon our way back to Brelin for our flight to Uppsala, Sweden for the third gig.

 ....

First I need to start from the weeks before, I have been in a very bad place in my musical life for a few months and it was wearing on me very hard and my way to fix that was to walk away From one of the best bands I every worked with but I had to do it, I very much needed to be true to myself and myself was not happy at all so I walked, I was not all that happy after I walked I felt very un-happy, I knew I would have to work very hard to get what I had back but I new I had to try.

 ....

Thursday night I played the Maple Leaf w/Batiste and Tony Hall it was very nice I had a great time Friday was at the airport at 8:30am to fly to Berlin by way of Newark with a 5 hour layover before we got on the overseas flight, I am not going to tell you how bad that was well I can say it in two words, (very Bad) LOL. We meet Sco and Ben in Newark and we all made the trip together.....

 ....

We got to Berlin about 8am on Saturday morning and got to out rooms about 10am went down for the count that is after getting on line and letting family and facebook friends know we are here.

 ....

Saturday 4pm lobby call for sound rehearsal it is by the way a new band now Terence Higgins is on drums and it was the right thing to do, he nailed it, LOL, I new he would, Sco is very happy, and Ladies and Gents so did I, just being a player is good for me right now too bad it not a longer tour like last November, any way after rehearsal we went for food not sure what I ate, it must have been good. I went to bed before 10pm up at 4am back to sleep at 5:30am up a 9am went down for food and then to the hall for sound check at 10am that went great good gear great sound, back to bed, well after Terence, Cleary, Ben

and I went for a nice walk around town and then to bed about 1:30pm, lobby call 6pm for dinner at the hall, show at 8pm, here what we played:

OK, so does riding a bike come to mind, that was just what is was, we just got On and on we were great solos be Sco, Cleary and the signing were better then I remember that had to be, how you say DAMM’, LOL.

After the show we went back to out rooms and some of us went to bed me for one but the two John’s had a little trouble getting there fell a sleep about a hour before it was time to get on the bus for our 8 hour drive to OSTROW Wielkopolski/Poland it only took 7:30 hours O’ we were going to leave at 6am but the bus had troubles of it’s own and did not get there after 7am about 7:15 or so well that gave us time to hit the food and hit it we did, LOL.

On the bus into the bunks out I went sleaped the hold trip we got to the hotel about 2:30pm Ben went to set up Sco, Cleary and I went for food and all in the same place went to my room To check internet access got on but it was not great kicked me off a few times, O’ it is now 4pm I need to be in the lobby for sound check, I am late don’t like that being late that is, smile.

We had to be done by 6pm we were done by 5:30pm like riding a bike smile.....

 ....

Back to the room check e-mails get kicked off some more, OK I am done you wind I will just use My cell at $3.95 a minute I wont be talking long.

You can always set back and sec guess your every move in life I don’t want to do that I just want to play music have fun doing it and if I make some money doing it great but if I don’t make some money then I damm sure better be having a hold lot of fun, that’s it for tonight.

It is 10:40am Sunday morning we are on the bus all of us are in the back room Cleary is playing guitar music on his Mac off of youtube, I am setting across from him typing and think how did this happen, smile I don't turn music on this early in the morning and I am not sure how I can get out of the room with being rude, OK I will suck it up, and do my report, O maybe I will just put on my headsets.

I just saw that my days / gigs were off sorry about that, I will try and fix that later today.

Last night a really good night great turn out really great music from a group of players that
make a living doing other music but have one thing good thing in common, they are checkin' out things going on around them, so no one get's stepped on by someone else playing too much, of curse we do get on top of it some times but not in each-others way, makes for a great night of playing/music. Last night was one of those nights, when it all was in the right place.

OK here I am eating all the words from two post before, John wrote out the set list as he always do and I mark the keys next to the songs as I lose my mind some times and forget the keys. I know I skipped sound check we did one very short we wanted to eat so we cut it short, thats OK Ben got us by now he knows what to do to make it happen.

We went to eat, it was not a good food night for me I had something The Vegetarian Chili it is the sec time and two Fridays in a row that I had to try and eat this stuff, I or should I say my stomach is not happy and it is going to make me pay later well has already started.

OK back to the gig so we had this 11 song 90 minute set ready to roll and then John start jumping around the set list I was loving it hell lits pitch the list, alright I settled down and we began to have some fun, Did I say I like this gig, smile. Here's what we played.

Sco has found a set of songs that he like and like all band leaders, he is starting to call the same sets because they work, for me I would like to see him take some chances it is just music and you like it when we do, sh-- I like it when we do. Here's what we played.

As I said taking chances is what some jam bands do I know a few that rehearser 6 weeks before going out on a tour I don't call that a jam band, and what we are doing is some ground breaking music because we are taking it our side like a jazz player would do and that leans on jamming but if we stop going out and taking chances with the songs that
don't get called any more, I don't know what that word is content is that it, I don't that but as I say to a few of the other bands I play in when you stay in one place to long and they know the song list before you play it, the hand writing is on the wall.

OK just when you think well it is about to go all wrong Sco does a change up the first set look the same but played out as always so the sets are never the same. The sec set took a turn

OK back to my point Sco love the vocal songs because most of his gigs are instrumental so
he likes hearing Jon and I singing, but at the end of the set tonight when he played that Blues
those kids went nuts, they like to hear him play too not that he is not playing all night because he is very much. I was happy to see that there were some of the same people that come see Porter Batiste Stoltz play this room came out and was happy to hear and stay for the music we were playing, I think music is music and when played great people will stay and check it out.

Stay they did nice.
