I have been working hard with optimus leg/arm joints...but you can hardly tell by looking at it, so I will not bother to put up any new pictures of it since arm and leg joints are not that exciting to look at anyway.
most of the parts are close to being complete now, I just have to make his head (and hands ofcoarse...) before I can start covering him in plastic film!
I have already started with the sketches/blueprints for my next robot!! I'ts always the most fun part, planning and drawing blueprints... when I have the complete picture in my head it's just the manual labor left.. since I already feel like it's done it almost feels unnessery build it, but to be able to share my creations with others I still have to build it I guess...

I have made som new parts: upperarm (with arm joint), feet, upperlegg.. those are the hard parts to make because it takes some time to figure out how to make the best possible arm and legg joints.. optimus prime isn't really known for being a really flexible robot so I don't put as much energy in to making him articulate as I did with the gundams, but I still want him to be able to pose properly..

I have started building on my third "new style" robot.. this time I decided to build optimus prime (old school style) from transformers.
Transformers had a huge impact on my childhood, I used to watch the animated seris on TCC (on satelite dish) all the time, but the actual figures diden't come to sweden until much later, and by then I was to old to play with toys..
I will post the pictures from the building process here soon!

I'm almost finished with two new robots, the first one are covered with transparent plastic film, and the second one is soon to be covered... both robots are missing their hands and some other details that I'm still working on. both robots are from the "gundam" series, the reason I chose to build existing robots instead of my own design this time is that my next exhibition is in the theme "childhood dreams" and I wanted to build robots that have inspired me.. and I wanted them to be transparent, abit like daydreams... I'm planning on building a few more robots in the same theme.

I have started to work with some of the "joints" for hips, shoulders and knee. this is a closeup of the hip joint, I had to do alot of thinking before I found the way to make the hip to be able to move in two different directions. closeup at the shoulder joint. not as complicated as the hip joint, but still quite hard to get right... knee mechanism, with a piston that will make it possible to lock the knee in different positions. I had to try a number of different solutions before I ended up with this construction. knee mechanism in the leg...
