Thanks to everyone who made it out to our Athfest show last week. It was a tearful affair for some, and all in all it was a great way to say goodbye for now. Gnarly G became Clarence Clemons for a brief moment. We all sweated our liquor out much too quickly. Thanks to Jazzchronic, Mass Solo Revolt, and Fester Hagood for being there for the experience.
Who knows what comes next? We'll finish the EP and chances are good that it will a) be out late Summer/early Fall.... b) contain a little more material than we originally intended... that's the goal at the moment. Chances are very good that we'll end up playing a few shows around the area to welcome its release.
Meanwhile, 2/5 of the Bros are rocking it away in Choptop.... Dennis Wilson is somewhere in the woods... Chris is still one of the greatest guitarists I've had the pleasure of playing with.... and I'm going to start playing out and about, and continue writing once I'm in New York... but the Brothers Gore are far from gone.
More to come.
Cheers! Jason

I never like to say that the band has broken up. In fact, in my prior two bands, we never officially did. I like leaving it open to the possibility that something else may happen, and in the case of The Brothers Gore, I think something might.
I'm moving to New York City. I will continue to write and even play shows in the city, and even continue to write Brothers Gore material. I hope the Bros will play more shows soon, but for now, our Rye Bar ATHFEST show this Saturday night is our last….. or "last" if you will. DPW never had a last show. Neither did The Most. The EP will be released down the road, and you never know, shows could come from that.
We're playing ATHFEST on Saturday night at 12am (technically Sunday). Please come out and say "goodbye".
Your pals in rock,
The Brothers Gore

.... The first show we played in Athens was in 2003, at Georgia Theatre with Stereo (Anna's band that later changed their name to The Vinci) and Television Buzz. Over the years we've played quite a few shows with these guys and become friends with them. When a band that you enjoy sharing the stage with, decides to hang it up, it's sad. Depressing. They will definitely be missed. At least we get to have one more show with them, this Friday night at Rye. It's a free show and the entire shebang is being recorded, and no one likes live recordings with just a few people hooting in the background…. so come out and hoot in numbers. This will be the last Brothers Gore show in Athens for some time, at least until mid-June and whatever pans out for Athfest. We're going to hang back a bit from playing live, to finish the EP and work on some new material. So with that in mind, we hope to see you on Friday night at Rye (on Clayton Street…..used to be called DT's). Cheers! Jason

Finally feeling recovered from the rocksplosion that was GO BAR the other night. Thanks to Sleepy Horses for coming out and sharing the evening with us. They are definitely one of my favorites now. Amazing sound, truly wonderful songs, and smoke coming out of the bass drum..... who could ask for more? I hope we can share the stage with them again soon. Thanks to GO BAR and thanks to everyone who enjoyed our set. Can't wait to get back to GO, and if you enjoyed the show, we're playing again THIS FRIDAY with our compadres in Velveteen Pink. It's all going down at Caledonia. We've been trying to line up a show with them for months now, so we're excited that it's actually happening, and we're ready to deliver the full on rock show that you expect from The Brothers Gore. A LOT of people have been asking about CD's lately, and I have to say that we are working on it. We recently recorded two tracks at DARC (that you can listen to on our page) and we're looking to go back soon. What remains to be determined is if this recorded output will be an LP or an EP. We will have that final word this week for you.
BUT, in the meantime, you may have noticed quite a few FRAG songs in our sets lately. We feel they've been completely revitalized with the addition of Hammond on guitar, but that's not knocking the album versions at all. FRAG is a rough and tasty beast, and a great first, home recorded album from The Brothers Gore. We still think it is great, and in fact, it is STILL available for download.....for FREE. CLICK HERE to get your FRAG on. I don't know how much longer it will be available, so get it now. Soon, we will have copies available at shows again. That's all for now. Looking forward to seeing you at Caledonia this Friday night! Cheers! Jason

New songs on ye olde player. "The Same Shit" and "Helen (Half Of Georgia)" produced and mixed by the wizard himself, Eric Friar @ DARC with assistance from Jeff Cobb. We've never experienced a recording session that busted our collective ass for results....and we think we have them. Two great new tracks and we can't wait to get into DARC to do some more. ---------------------------------- Thanks to everyone who listened to Live In The Lobby tonight, and thanks to the amazing folks at WUOG. ----------------------------------- ALLEN'S. FREE. SATURDAY NIGHT! 9PM! Yep, The Brothers Gore

Greetings and salutations, We hope you're having a great 2008 so far. After taking some time off for the Holidays, we're back in full gear to rock. Tomorrow we're heading into to DARC to record "The Same Shit" and "Helen (Half Of Georgia)". We're going to submit these songs for the 2008 Athfest CD, and they will also appear on "Paper Yachts & The Reasons For The Whiskey". We've decided to go in some new directions for the new album and it will be in your hands this Spring or Early Summer.....we promise. Especially since Chevy will be missing in action for 5 months, growing a killer hobo beard while walking to Maine. We'll miss his M. Night Shamalyan loving ass, but our sister Anna will be (hopefully) taking over for him while he eats roots and sleeps in a stinky assed tent. He's leaving in April, so that's why we will have the album done by Summer. Tons of great rock coming up. Thursday 1/17 - Live In The Lobby, WUOG-FM, Athens. 8PM. You can listen online at http://www.wuog.org. In Athens, 90.5 FM, but chances are you already knew that. We'll give you a reminder as we get closer to that date. Saturday 1/19 - An Evening With The Brothers GoreAllen's - 9PM Acoustic, Two Man rock, Full on rock!, ELO magic, soulful synth action, many surprises. A glorious night of rock with The Brothers Gore, and it's all free. Come get your eat on. Friday 2/1 - The Brothers Gore, Sleepy Horses, and Part BearGO! Bar - 10PM Really looking forward to rocking with these two amazing bands, and playing at GO! More shows and more album information coming up. Cheers! Jason
