2. A same sex physical relationship....

They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.....

3. A fantasy- filled life....

Seriously why do they call it...I heard through the grapevine? Has anyone ever really heard through a grapevine? Sounds weird to me....

Anywayz! I heard Rush Hour was awesome today! Honorable mentions:

-Set up crew! Even thought I was not at the service I did go in real early (7am) to help set up a bit. We were down a few but they rocked it out. Each week they do that and I am very thankful for them all.

-Bands! Yeas i said bands...we have two! First everyone really needs to give it up for The Rush Hour Band and star player Isaac Horner! The band is always on point, always sounding great, and always makes me want to shake my buns! And Isaac my friend, I know you give so much of yourself to this ministry and I want you to know I love you bro. You are like family to me and I just want you to know that Rush Hour is as strong as it is because of your dedication, heart, motivation, and love for God and His people. thank you for what you do. Also Colere...for there smashingly diverse sounds and vision lead by Dougie Fresh! Doug and his team are another part of this solid rock of a youth ministry team that I am blessed with! I am honored that I can serve next to you all. 

-Lisa Pleban! She has a gift to teach in a creative relevant way and makes the Bible come to life! Sweet action Jackson!!!! I wish I was there to see it!

ONE MONTH TO LIVE

Week 1 – Determining What Matters Most

 

What if you knew you only had one month to live?

 

We need a new perspective on:

 

1. Time

 

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.

James 4:14 NLT

 

-We don’t have all the time in the world so we can’t waste it!

 

2. Death           

 

“For you were made from dust and to dust you will return.”

Genesis 3:19 NLT

 

-Death is inevitable…and until we are faced with that reality we will never really embrace life.

 

3. Life

 

Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

Genesis 2:7 NLT

 

-We were created by God to be loved by Him and engage in a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.  We have a choice to live that life we were intended to live.

 

Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love.

Ephesians 1:4 The Message

 

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 NLT

 

Start living like you’re dying...live life to the full!

 

1. Decide to live with passion

 

-Accept that life is temporary and real life, real hope, the real fulfillment comes from something we can’t buy, acquire, create, achieve, or work for…real passion comes from living a life for Jesus Christ.  That gives you passion to wake up and live for something eternal or forever! 

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

Mark 10:27 NIV

 

2. Be determined to make the most of your time.           

 

-Spend time determining what really matters in your life and work on that.  Make a list of things you would do if you had one month to live…what needs to happen to achieve these things? 

 

3.  Depend on God’s Power to live this life of fulfillment.           

 

-Realize the strength you have access to…if you choose to believe.

 

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

ONE MONTH TO LIVE

Week 3 – Leaving a Legacy

 

Teach us to realize how short our lives are. Then our hearts will become wise.

Psalm 90:12 NIRV

 

-There are actions of the wise & actions of the fool – it’s wise to obey

 

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse (WHY?) because it is built on bedrock. But (Famous Buts) anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

-Obedience to God’s ways will produce fruitfulness (Galatians 5…look up fruitfulness)

Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

Cast your legacy VISION – Pray, seek God, and write down things you    

want to accomplish and start heading that way!

 

Create a FINANCIAL legacy – Don’t live for money…help others. 

 

Commit to a legacy of FAITH – Reach out to others so they know Christ.

 

GOD [power]: acknowledge God everyday – Who are you acknowledging eachday…the God of self, the God of popular opinion?

How to deepen relationships that matter most

 

1. I need relationships even though they are messy

2. Admit and list my own faults

 

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?

3. Let people know they are important to you.

-Identify these people and show them they are important.

 

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

4. Clean things up.

-Forgiveness is a choice not a feeling.

 

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

Yo it is Friday! It is so beautiful outside right now. I just came from the gym and all the way back home my windows were down and I was soaking up the air! Man amazing out there!

So I hope you guys are enjoying the long weekend. I know my kids have had a great day. So Sunday...you gonna be around? Come to Rush Hour this week because I've got something for you. This is our last week of us talking about when people meet Jesus. We are starting something new on Easter that is gonna be BUCK WILD!

That being said I will have some things to hand out to each of you so we can getmoving on growing Rush Hour. It's gonna take some prayers, some focus, some guts, and the invitations I have for you. I am asking you to invite 4-5 people that have never come to Rush Hour before. Invite them to Rush Hour for Easter. The new series is gonna be off the hook...It's called ONE MONTH TO LIVE.

During this series we are going to be giving away a FREE IPOD TOUCH. Every week you attend you will be able to put your name in the drawing. If you bring a new person that has never been then you can put your name in an extra time. On week three we will have the drawing.

Finding Freedom from Bondage

1. Embrace the facts about your PAIN.
History merely repeats itself. It’s all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.

• God knows your secrets
• There’s no past “demons” God can’t get rid of
• You can be restored
• There are people who want to help

2. Remove yourself from the path BONDAGE.
Once you were slaves of sin. At that time right living did not control you. What benefit did you gain from doing the things you are now ashamed of? Those things lead to death! You have been set free from sin. God has made you his slaves. The benefit you gain leads to holy living. And the end result is eternal life.

3. Put your faith in GOD’S WAY.

I'm sitting here this morning loving listening to some music. I remembered as I was rocking out...that we have an amazing band at Rush Hour. Isaac Horner leads this team into battle weekly. It is not an easy task either. They practice Monday's and throughout the week they each have to make sure they are practicing on their own, they come in early Sundays at like 7:00am to set up, they deal with all kinds of crazy issues the equipment gives them, and they stay and tear down on Sundays until like 1:00pm. This team is incredible and the band is amazing! I love that we have this amazing piece of the Sunday morning ministry. I love that I can scroll through my ITUNES and see numerous songs they've done...and done well! It's all different styles, all different sounds, and all different types of people can connect to them. I just want to stop and thank the band for their hard work, dedication, and will to overcome the hard stuff.
