With the release date set for September 22, we thought it would be a good time to make the cover art public. So here's your first look at the product of all of our effort over the past few years:

We began way back in March with a trip to Capricorn Studios to track drums. Since then we've been working non-stop in three of our members bedrooms on what will be the debut full-length. Engineered, recorded, edited, and mixed entirely by our own members, it's been a long time coming and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you. We don't want to give away too much, but expect sounds never heard out of us before, and a couple of massively rewritten tracks you already know. Have patience though; we're putting on finishing touches and working out how to release it. It'll be worth the wait.

We're happy to announce that we have become the first band on Rock Against Illiteracy's roster. Rock Against Illiteracy is an organization a friend of ours formed to donate books to local schools in need and encourage youth to read for enjoyment.

From now on, if you bring a book that you think a young teenager or pre-teen would like to one of our shows, you will either receive a bit off of the ticket price or something cool from the Honest Iago merch table.

Check out Rock Against Illiteracy's myspace page here.

We've got a profile on MtvU.com, and shortly after we posted our new song "Less Martial Law, More Martial Arts" they sent us an email saying it had been banned because it was too violent. That's ironic because the song was written as an anti-violence effort, to help stop a genocide.

We could go on for pages about this, but odds are it was actually just a glitch on their system that removes songs with words like "blood" or something. After posting the original version of this blog, representatives from MtvU emailed us to let us know that the mistake had been fixed, and to shows us just how much they have been doing to try to help the situation. As it turns out, they have set up a great online resource center to help you educate yourself and do what you can to help in this crisis as well as others here, or at the link below.

At this point, simply "not supporting it" isn't enough anymore. We are lucky to have the ability to reach more than just our circle of acquaintances, and we will continue to use that to try to create some good in the world. Salvador Dali said that an artist isn't one who is inspired, he is one who inspires others. Hopefully we can do some of that and inspire others to take action on today's issues. The following links are to groups we have worked with who have ways for you to help, as well as some other resources. We will continue to add to this list as we continue to do our part.

STAND (A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition)

Stand Up for Kids - Helping at risk, homeless youth

World Aids Campaign

Climate Crisis - Homepage for An Inconenient Truth

Doctors Without Borders

Participate.net - Activist film and a wide-ranging resouce page

MtvU Activism Resource Center

Hey there to everyone in the orchestra seats and the balcony alike, got some good news. Honest Iago has been chosen by Students Taking Action in Darfur (STAND) to record a new song for their up coming benefit CD. So expect a new Honest Iago epic within the next month or so. Sorry for the delay but 7 minute lyrical and melodic moodscapes don't just happen over night. Until then the theatre is closed.

hey everybody honest iago won (were not quite sure how) the battle of the bands at UCSD, so come to see us at soma on 4/20. Plus more importantly the show is a benefit concert for one of the best organizations around, The Stand Up For Kids Organization. They help runaway and homeless teens get back on their feet. So regardless of wanting to see us rock out or not please come to support Stand Up For Kids. www.standupforkids.org
