-So how about that storm ,and that pycho in Virginia.  Wow, May flowers, huh...

So we are almost done with Wonderland, which has morphed into a really cool collaborative project with the talents of smallwins, elasticnoose and friends and of course lots of computers, keyboards, bent kids toys, and the MUNNY.  We are mixing it now, and should post some of the songs somewhere on the internet soon.  Copies will be available, maybe for free, we are working that out... at the very worst it will be a couple of dollars. 

Check back here for this and other exciting projects coming up. 

- small records (why do i insist on speaking in the third person) is releasing  wonderland, a collaborative project between smallwins, elasticnoose and friends like lucky, KSAM and Lloyd.  It will be super.  The first run of this super project will be 50 cd-r's with super cool covers - you know how we roll.  They will be given to family and anyone who writes and asks for one.  We are kicking around exactly what type of music to call this with "Indie Psychotica" leading the pack. You should get one and help us figure it out. We will post about it here when it comes out (or the first week in april, which ever comes first.

-  Thanks to everyone who wrote to ask for a copy of the mixtape, we hope you enjoy it. 

- So Many Dynamos is coming to Central Florida for some shows!!  This is great as I have missed them due to extenuating cirumstances in Brooklyn (the clubs fault) and Jacksonville (a vans fault).  I am super excited and cannot wait.

- Our good friend Drown Radio keeps putting ou these killer podcasts that I can't stop listening to.  You should listen too.  i mean it, itll be good for you.

- Nilo and .tape. both gave some digital love by posting stuff about the mixtape on their sites.  We love you so much, we wish we could have a made a million mixtapes and given them out to everyone we met on the street because of people like you.

There's lots more, but Im tired and it was a long day at the office.

 Its almost SPRING y'all.    

As you may or may not know Mixtape will be released any day now, and elastic noose and I have noticed a strange phenomenon, namely that a lot of people don't hear  what we hear. For example

-When the CD went to be mastered, the engineer (love ya Justin) asked "Is this song SUPPOSED to sound like that?"

- Now that the cd is being duplicated we get a frantic call from the company that our CD has a couple of "BROKEN" tracks.  We had to direct them to various websites and ensure them that no, they are not broken!

While some might be disheartened by these perspectives, we at small records just laugh our asses off and try to empathize with the first people who put out a distorted guitar album (any body know?) or the first jazz record, or the first phonograph even!  It gives the warm fuzzies to know that at the very least we will annoy some people for a minute (punk rock anyone?) and that they just might discover something they hadn't thought about before.  Like I told the crew at small records. "At least we know we're not pushing something people have heard a thousand times already."

So wish us luck, we might need it.

Happy Holidays!

We hope everyone's holiday is as hectic as ours.

A thourough update on the compilation:

The Lineup of artists is set as follows Nilo, team forest, Skarv, Healamonster, So Many Dynamos, System System, smallwins,The Boy With a Broken Leg, Flora, .Tape., Drowned Radio, Chris Curtin., Arland Nicewander

Everyone mentioned above has been super cool and we couldn't have done this without their support and time.

We have all the tracks being mastered as I write this by our new friend and smallminded person Justin Payette.  

The cover art is done, and everything will be ordered to make the covers as soon as we hear the finished master.  

The plan is still 200 limited edition copies, numbered with 5 copies to each artist and the rest going off to be reviewed in magazines and websites and friends.  We are confident that they will be mailed out mid-January.

What else, OH! elasticnoose is going to be spinning at that Tatame spot DEC 28th, so if you are in the Winter Park area and want to see what makes small records tick, come by and dance like a maniac. 

Also, we are working on a release of some tracks put together by The Trifecta: elasticnoose, lucky and smallwins.  Some seriously demented sounds brewing for that one.  Check back in February to hear more.

Otherwise I will post an update in January as to mixtape's countdown to release.
