Thursday, Jan 15th
5am Eastern Standard Time alarm rings. Sugar bubbles already up meditating on trip to come. Kvk aggressively hits snooze button in her drunken passed out stooper. (fyi: her b-day party was the night before, give her a break.)
5:20am sb & kvk roll into car to airport. Mission engaged. Kvk was ravenously hungry and attempts to eat the air-plane tickets. Embaressed, sb saves tickets and passes out.
10:30am Pacific Standard Time “…and please fly with American again.” Amir, SB’s drum genius, bow and arrow clad bestie, almost rents us a Mustang. Damn. We jet off in our Jetta down Pacific Highway 1 and dine at the infamous Taco Surf for lunch and beer. KVK’s hangover is intense. The beer helps.
4pm NAMM show walk through. Holy Shit.
Friday, Jan 16th
10-6 NAMM Show. Meeting so many people! Woo-hoo! “Come to our show…nice to meet you…give me free stuff...the pleasure’s all mine…oh, you’re a musician, too…oh, excuse me, you’re famous……..”
7pm kvk goes to EBS Sweden dinner. SB goes to Sabian Live.
11pm KVK, old friend Lauren, SB & Amir get smashed on bottle of Patron. Good blackmail pics. Haha SB, your days are numbered.
Sat, Jan 17th
2pm KVK & SB get lost in Chinatown on way to downtown LA. Illegally flyer cars around Whisky.
5pm Back to Aneheim to rescue Amir from NAM. I mean NAMM.
10pm Slammin music in hotel lobbies. Freaks. Geaks. Music Stars. Rockers. Gawkers and Stalkers. Killing musicians such as Delmar rockin his favorite tie-dye heart shirt and wailing on the key-tar.
Sun, Jan 18th
1pm drive through Hollywood Hills to soundcheck
6pm sound check. Yep we’re gonna rock this.
9pm we rock it. Hard. Ouch. That felt good.
10pm party with our LA peeps and passout at Andrew and Michaels. Thank guys.
Mon, Jan 19th
12pm brunch and film nightmare brainstorm about the Loft on S.11th, the bearded lady, her blind Dog, Talula, the giant trampoline, bedtime for “Bonzi” and other harrowing tales.
1pm homeward bound…

Glasslands Variety Show 8-20-08

Ladybugstingray  road diary entry 001
           Wassaic Project , 1st year 2008
               early am p.u. in brooklyn; sugar bubbles was wearing some nasty old cologne that smelled like grandma by mistake- woahh, bad choice
               2 hours of traffic to get out of the city but Dj K Fly saved the day spinning the happnin jammies
               Got a little lost, ended up asking two different sources; the first just picked wax out of his ear; the second were some helpful old-timers working in the rail museum (box car Charlie kind of stuff)
                @1:40 sent Sunny Daze some good vibes
                arrived @ Wassaic in early afternoon; breathtakingly beautiful; hills, clouds horses, picture perfect
                sugar bubbles was drafted to perform and earned the new name "washboard Pete" (don't ask) somehow causing KVK to cry laughing
               (t shirts started to sell from the down beat)
               The rest of the afternoon: checking 6 floors of art in the "Mill", readings, music, wading in streams, exploring some gigantic kilns; once more summoning Sonny Daze's spirit from across the skies.
                Show:  changing outside the porta potties, KVK looking awesome complete with water gun; SB dressed as a seriously funky cow (one for the locals) Three lady bug encounters, two on KVK and one on her keyboard (They seem to like her!)
             HIT the STAGE @ 11!!           Devastating!! people came from the hills dancing, even small children; in capes, hula hoops, feathers. SB was auctioned off for 50 bucs (not bad). Jam session at the bonfire . KVK's magical powers mustered up some killing chicken (funky fresh I say). returned the next day for good byes and sold the rest of the shirts. Had a fight over coleslaw in the dinner on the way back when KVK was able to rearrange SB's molecules with some sort of laser beem stair (very deadly)           ..........until the next ...............
