New Song to be released March 12

After a year and a half of recording I have reached the light at the end of the tunnel. I am happy to say it sounds great. I will be releasing a new song titled “A Time for a Revolution” on March 12^th. Also, I will be releasing a new version of “Fog of War” the same day.

Album Update: It will be mixed and mastered by the 20th of FebruaryI am pleased to announce that my concept album will be mastered on February 20th. This will be the final stage before the CD pressing. The music sounds great; I’m very pleased with the way it has turned out. The CD will be available through iTunes and other digital outlets. The physical disc will be available for sale on my website.

A very important message!

I need your help!!!!

I have been waiting for this album to come out, but now is the time to create a buzz about its release. Uri is in the studio working on the final mixes. The mastering should be done by the end of the month. I do plan on releasing some songs in the near future while the CDs are being pressed.

I'm in search of a MySpace street team. More specifically this person will be in charge of the local fan site for their city. The site will be create for them so the only thing they will need to do is add people and help create a buzz and possibly meet new friends!

These people depending on how well they do will receive free merchandise as well as prizes for achieving certain goals. An Alarming Rise to be mixed and mastered by the end of January

We are in the final month of the recording process for my rock concept album "An Alarming Rise". It has been a lengthy process, but I promise it was worth the wait. Another Milestone for the Album

Last night I had a 6 hour session to finish up the lead vocal parts to my album “An Alarming Rise”. Now that this is done, the mixing will start around the New Year. I’m very please with how the songs have turned out. Hopefully there will be no need to revisit this part of the recording process, but it is hard to say for sure. I’m exhausted today and my voice is very tired, but I feel this album should be enjoyable for everyone… so it makes it all worth while.

As most of you know I am going the independent route with my music. That being said there are positives and negatives. The positive part is that I have complete creative control of everything I record. The negative is lack of distribution to the retail outlets. The only way that you will be able to get a hold of my music is through digital outlets such as iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and many more. I plan on having my music distributed to every single one.

If you plan on purchasing the physical CD you can do this at my store that will be located on my website (http://www.mattcode.com). A few people have asked me about preordering and I will be doing that. The store area of the website is in development and I will let you know when preordering will take place. The store will be highly secure so you will be confident in ordering and merchandise for my store.

It is very hard and costly being an independent artist, but at the same time I could have never created this album the way I wanted if I was with a label. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

My rock concept album "An Alarming Rise" is nearing completion. My producer Uri Djemal and I have been in the studio for quite some time placing elements and re-tracking vocals to point where we are satisfied with the outcome of the songs. I am very pleased with how the album is starting to come together and I'm hoping to have it released before the year is out.

The first of a trilogy

Ever since I was a young kid it has been a dream of mine to create a concept album. I grew up a fan of The Beatles, The Who, and Pink Floyd. I also have been influenced by other bands such as U2, Radiohead and Led Zeppelin, but it was "Sgt Peppers", "Quadrophenia" and of course "The Wall" as albums that made me want to become the story teller and not just the song-writer.

"An Alarming Rise" is the first of the trilogy of concept albums, "The Sleeping City" being the second album and "One Particular Fall" finishing the story. This particular album as suggested in its title deals with the rising nature of world events, religious and political philosophies in a pre-9/11 world in both America and abroad. I do not want to go into detail about the upcoming albums, because some ideas may change a little, but I have started scratch tracking "The Sleeping City" and will in the third album dive into a post-9/11 world as "One Particular Fall".
