hey out there!
This is it! The last part of the history of Red Lights Flash part 15!
Thats how we looked like on part 1:
And this is from the "for your safety" photo shoot in 2009:
for all of you who just jumped on the blog waggon - you can easily start from part one and follow us through the years.
Its strange to play in the same band over all these years, i mean and time goes by.. but its defenitely special. same four people still feeling it. looking forward what the future brings- lets see...
so where did we start the last time? oh yes, strike anywhere europe tour and pre production for "for your safety".
In 2008 we also got invited by a wilhelm scream to do a european tour with them. We got to know them on the "for blood an empire" tour 2007 and had a great time together. Somehow we came along pretty well. (bling bling - back to drinking)
We met them in germany where we jumped on the black bus. a great vehicle indeed. consti our "gasoline brother" loved it! After 2 weeks michael sabina, the great guitarist of AWS had to go back to the us for 3!!!! days. So we had to fill in - and believe me- its not easy to replace the guitarist for a wilhelm scream. tom learned some songs and myself and christian also worked on some to help them out. Hard work, i remember sitting in prague learning the whole day "the king is dead". in the end we did a good job and we said good bye to them after 3 weeks of successfull and funny rocknroll stories.
After that tour we started to work on "for your safety". We recorded the drums in germany- principal studios - same studio where we mixed and mastered our last record "free". Great work together with toni - he did a really good job. Consti used the best snare drums in history, - killer sound!
After that we returned to Graz, our hometown, to record guitars in a smaller studio. to be honest- you only need a big and expensive studio (big room) for the drums - the rest is easy to record in smaller studios or rehearsel rooms. The rest was recorded in our old rehearsel room, living rooms and homes. it was just relaxed.
Later on i called my friend tim from Rise against and asked him to ask bill stevenson to to do the mixing and mastering on "for your safety". After 5 minutes i got a mail from bill and we sent the songs to the blasting room studios after a great post production with armin breuer. thats it.
After that we produced a video for the single "cities Burn" with our friends in obscura, started an own record label and released "for your safety" 2 weeks ago. It just made perfect sense to do it like this. Loads of work but i dont regret a second of it!
Its now time to say thank you to some people who helped us out the last few years:
Tom 20, Tonimeloni, Bone, Jürgen, Girlfriends and Families, Armin, #2, and all the people who supported us in any way. We owe you a lot.
on dec. 5th @ Kapu Linz our tour for "for your safety" starts, would be great to see you out there!
I hope you enjoyed the ride,
