LONDON - SAT 18TH APRIL

fg1

FILTHY gorgeous Presents: Mr & Patrick ZigonGet your diary out and make sat 18th a red letter day...for there's a veritible bonanza of a party on at The Lightbox in Vauxhall... and we'd rather like for you to be part of it!

By now you've heard the hype about the club, and trust us, it's as good as you've been told - see how good here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j51byBcN6qU

It's only £8 if you buy your tickets before Tuesday evening, and you can even win VIP entry for two if you enter the competion listed below... As for the line-up, it's fair to say that it's our best to date, with the names pretty much speaking for themselves - Mr C (Superfreq), Patrick Zigon (Cocoon), Dean Muhsin (Bearweasel) as well as backroom support coming from Genius & Pete's 50th.

So get out your pens and put a mark in the 18th April - this is one fiesta you won't want to miss!

Mr C:
As part of The Shamen Mr C catalysed rock and dance music into a  blizzard of change with incredible stadium shows that still set the  benchmark for today’s live electronic music extravaganzas. Turning his  hand to record-label-guru he went on to pioneer underground artists  such as Derrick Carter on his own Plink Plonk label. Then in 1996 he  opened a club that was to change the face of London clubbing forever.  It is unlikely that anyone into London clubbing has not experienced a  seminal night out at The End, and as the man behind it, Mr C  effectively re-defined the music that we all dance to now – coming up  with the term “Tech House”. Not only did he coin the phrase but he  continues to raise the bar in its production and delivery. Electronic  music at it’s most warped yet wonderful, one thing is guaranteed with  Mr C – he never fails to impress.

Patrick Zigon:
Joining him on the night is Patrick Zigon, an exceptional talent who is  turning heads worldwide with productions on Cocoon and Puzzle Traxx to  name but a few. A prolific producer and remixer, Guy Gerber and Gui  Boratto are among those to have called upon his talents to provide a  fresh perspective on their own work. We are very excited indeed to have  secured his name on the line-up, and you’ll understand exactly why if  you’ve had a chance to hear his latest mix (link below)

Dean Muhsin (Bearweasel):
Headlining the backroom, which is being hosted by Club Genius &  Pete's 50th, is one half of London-based producers Bearweasel – Dean  Muhsin. Up and coming on the London scene, with a string of  hotly-tipped deep-house productions in their arsenal on labels like  Steve Lawlers Viva Music, Supernature, Tsuba & 8-Bit. We continue  to source the best in local talent to give you an unrivalled night of  musical excellence.
Early Bird Tickets £8 (til tues 7th April - 9pm) / £10 Adv there after

After what can only be described as an absolutely riotous battle of the
DJ's on Easter Sunday 2008, Diversion vs Filthy Gorgeous is back this
year for Round 2! Ibiza's top workers party meets Glasgow night
*Diversion* for a second round of hedonistic craziness. Expect an
electric atmosphere as the rivalry between the two nights encourages
the DJ's to churn out their top House, Electro, Fidget and Techno tunes
in the time space allocated. Each DJ will have two sets of 25 mins to
step up to the decks, wow the crowd and hopefully steal the crown for
their night, before airhorns sound and control of the music passes to
the other night's next DJ.

Indeed a whole year may have passed, but the tension between the nights
is no less than it was at this time last year, as these comments from
some of the DJ's will show!

"Filthy Gorgeous?? Isn't that a Scissor Sisters song?" - Elliot Castro
(*Diversion*)

"*Diversion* should take a Diversion and just not show up if they know
what's good for them!" - Jamie Gittins (FG)

So with more action than even Don King himself could handle - the only
question is, will you be a part of it??

IN THE FILTHY CORNER...
Scott Martin (FILTHY gorgeous/We Love...)
Jamie Gittins (FILTHY gorgeous/Cream/Disco Bomb Ibiza)
2 Manky DJs (The Basement)

VS

IN THE DIVERSION CORNER...
Elliot Castro (Diversion/ The Basement)
Dirty Basement (Diversion/The Basement
Evil Ean (The Basement/Minimize)

8 DJS... 8 DECKS... 2 MIXERS!!!

EASY EASY EASY!

Sat 28th March @ The Lightbox, Vauxhall, London

Flashing lights and techno beats... Want some more?

That’s right, after our incredible launch-party last month at one of London’s coolest new venues, with an amazing set from the legend that is Kevin Saunderson. FILTHY Gorgeous return to the Lightbox at the end of March with a line-up that is sure to have you bouncing high all night long.

Headlining the party will be Kiki, who is signed to Ellen Alien’s uber-cool imprint, bPitch control, and a regular headline guest at venues such as Watergate, Panorama Bar, and Rex Club Paris.

We first saw Kiki back in 2006 on one hazy Sunday afternoon in T-Bar. Still up from his gig the night before, he breezed into the room, launching into a set that sent a proverbial firecracker off under the backside of the ailing crowd, provoking scenes of mass hysteria. We’ve heard he’s got better since then too.

Originally hailing from Finland, but residing in Berlin for the most-part of his DJ-years, Kiki’s sound is fresh, raw and ever-evolving; making him as exciting a talent as there is around. His sets offer more energy than a prozac’d up kid that’s washed the pills down with Sunny Delight and a splash of coke. A pure maverick behind the decks, expect twisted tunes with massive crescendos, the sort that can breath life into even the most-drained-out souls… this will be something special!

Also guesting is Chymera, a rising Irish star now based in Barcelona. Lauded by those ‘in the know’, his productions feature swirling, hypnotically melodic techno, constructed with meticulous craft. With his tracks already being included on mixes by the likes of Luciano and Felix da Housecat, you will be hearing his name a lot in the next year or so. And we wouldn’t want you to miss hearing first-hand what all the fuss is about now would we...

Add to that the usual intoxicating mix of hedonistic irreverence that an Ibicencan fiesta brings, we welcome you with open arms to join us for a night of celebration. Whatever the reason might be, it doesn’t really matter, does it?! Just get your dancing shoes on and join us at the front!

Full Line Up

Kiki (bPitch control)
Chymera (Ovum / Figure / NRK)
Scott Martin (We Love...)
Jamie Gittins
Daniel Lopez (As If)
Lee Brinx (Techno Prisoners)

Room 2 hosted by Metrik
Anthea (phonica/mojuba)
Fabio Teti (aparitivo)

* NOW THEN - NOW THEN *

Ladies, Gentleman and Insomniac Freaks! Your attention please! Lend me your eyes for but a minute to relay upon them notice of a future treat - one that you might share with all your senses.

SATURDAY 21ST FEBRUARY! (I shout)

But a week will have passed since cupid’s arrows rained down on our hearts, so let us inflate them once more with the love of music...

DIRTY POUNDING TECH-HOUSE MUSIC!

Ask not: why? Why not! Just unite! Rejoice! And dance until the cockerel crows, (and after too if it takes your fancy!)

with KEVIN SAUNDERSON (Detroit)

A master will be in our midst, shining forth his majesty. Not since yesteryear has he graced these shores, one not to miss, nor to forget in haste. Plying his trade for over a score of years, his legend is widespread and on this night it will be for all to hear.

at THE LIGHTBOX (Vauxhall)

With Ibicencan warmth we shall greet you and welcome you into our home – a
box of light as bright as Helios shines on his birthday.

BY JOVE! A party has been promised, and a right royal shindig we shall have! Hedonism, debauchery and dancing feet- your invitaions are on the side... All others, take this as so, COME!

* WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT THEN?? *

On Saturday February 21st Kevin Saunderson returns to London to play for Filthy Gorgeous at the Lightbox in a rare visit that is sure to have fans twitching in anticipation.

When you talk of legends in techno music, only a few can really say they were there at the beginning. Along with Derrick May and Juan Atkins, Saunderson made up
the "Belleville Three” who are widely credited with inventing the genre in the motor-city of Detroit. Names from Carl Cox to Sven Vath count him as inspirational in their own journey to greatness, and after last March's roadblock London Coronet show, he proved once again that his style and passion for music are as fierce as ever.

Underground tech-house party-starters Filthy Gorgeous are putting on the night,
adding a chupito or ten of Balearic hedonism to South London. It is their first date of the New Year, after 2008 saw a residency in the Ibiza institution that is Space as well as tours of Mexico, Thailand and Australia. Residents Scott Martin and Jamie Gittins both appeared for We Love Space and on Cream Terrace respectively in 2008, while Lee Rands and Nic & Kaleb are current hot-properties on the London
underground party circuit.

They will be joined by Leftroom records' MarcAshken, one of the rising stars of London's party scene. A prolific producer, who has come into his own within his home, the Leftroom imprint. Ashken treats his productions as a personal journey,
an expression of his influences and his environment, never conforming
MarcAshken is making his own rules.

Hosting the back-room will be "Metrik" the brain child of some very serious industry players! They've drafted in the telented (oh and gorgeous) Rebekah to see their
debut off with a bang!

All this is taking place at The Lightbox in Vauxhall, a spectacle in itself with 15,000 separate LED lights and lasers lining the main room to put on a show that provides a unique clubbing experience.
