Tomorrow my Sacramento team Twist It is playing and we seem to have a strong team.  My coach wants me to pitch, but I have been enjoying playing right field and staying out of trouble.  lol, I get so intense when I'm pitching and usually cause quite a rukkus.  I am successful as a pitcher though and my teams tend to win.  I feel a bit uneasy about it all since I got hit in the head last November and put in the hospital.  Anyway, my swing is coming along and I threw 3 out on the bases last weekend from right.  We are playing on a turf field and for some reason I haven't hit well on those kind of fields.

I have a team from the bay area wanting me to play full-time for them, but they sucked in Pleasanton last weekend and I told them I would like to play a couple of tourney's with them to see how it goes.  I already have my reservations since the guy and girl are doing the coaching duo thing and that tends to be a problem.  Only one person should be the decision maker otherwise, thing just get too complicated.  I have to admit though, the teams in Sac haven't asked me to play except the one I'm playing on Sunday, so it would be nice to get on a good out of town team and kick their butt. hahahaha

My friend Tia from Carson City is currently grieving the loss of her sister.  I hope the family is doing okay.  I don't want to bother her right now so I am waiting until she is ready to talk to me.  I hope that's a good plan.  I have been looking forward to playing bal with her again since I played for her women's team in Winnemucca.  Not to mention I'm also looking forward to hanging with the Carson boy's and beating them in washers, lol.

I need to get my 4th workout of the week done, but my body is fatigued and I need to get a lot of work done at home.  I must do my laundry, but other than that I will likely get nothing done and aim to get my workout done after the tourney Sunday.

My roommate let me know a few days ago that he requested to go back out to sea and that I had 3 months or sooner to find a place to live.  I found a one bedroom apartment in Sacramento and it will be my first place I have lived alone since my early 20's.  It is somewhat exciting, but at the same time a bit scary.  It's not my ideal place and I will have to constantly worry about my car and motorcycle sitting outside on the street.  It was bad enough to have them parked in the gated area at my current place.  Oh well!  What can ya do?  Just have to let the chips fall where they may I suppose.

This year, an astounding 178,480 people will be diagnosed with breast
cancer
in the US. And the unfortunate fact is that one of them may be
someone you know a loved one, a colleague, a friend or even yourself.

I believe this is unacceptable and that's why I'm doing
everything I can to fight back.

In October, I will be joining the American Cancer Society's
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, and I want you to join me.
All the money we raise will directly fund lifesaving research, access
to mammograms, and free services that make the battle against breast
cancer easier for patients and their families.

The walk is the West Steps of the State Capitol building
on October
19, 2008
and it's an easy walk through downtown. It will be a
fun morning, and you will feel empowered to be part of a community of
over 16,000 walkers dedicated to fighting breast cancer and
celebrating survivorship.

I've already set up a team online. Click here to join me. Please
make a donation if you can. Every dollar makes an impact, and together
we can save lives.

Tomorrow, I have to move to a different cubicle because the woman in the cubicle next to me complained.  One of the complaints is that my key strokes are too loud when typing.  This would be because I am typing with my nails.  The funny thing is that she makes all kinds of noises on the other side.  Evidently, she has done this before and has moved cubicles.  They told her the last time she was going to stay put.  The primary issue is that she is pissed that she didn't get promoted to my position.  The company requires having 5 ASE Certifications and she didn't make the effort to obtain them.  Parts of the job are advantageous to have an experienced certified Automotive Technician I believe primarily for customer service situations.  I'm a Technical Editor 2, and have to learn all aspects of the job including the Senior Editors position to be able to function in his absence.  I have to sit back and let the stuff unfold right now.  In the shop working with men we could have it out and things would be over.  Here it's all about dealing with the cattiness.  This woman has worked here for 8 years and the other 21.  They are both making waves.  The bottom line is I had the qualifications they were looking for and got the position.  It's not right for them to be rude to me when I didn't do anything wrong.  I typicall would go toe to toe with them about this, but I am just going to keep coming in everyday like everything is going just fine.  A big smile on my face and a good morning and good night.

We had a 7:30 co-ed game last night; the last one before playoffs.  We will be the number four seed playing the number one seed.  I got to pitch for the second game in a row.  The second to the last inning I walked 3 girls.  I haven't pitched all year until last week so I have to work out the kinks.  I figured out my release point concentration is what usually keeps me on track and not allowing to many balls to be thrown out of the strike zone.  I smoked them in the last inning.  I got command of my pitches and worked off the zone when ahead of the count and worked in my knuckle ball.  I hadn't used it all game cuz we were kicking their butt until the inning I walked those girls.  So they were shocked to see a nice slow floating knuckle ball and it threw off their timing enough for easy outs.  I also hit two balls deep to the fence over the outfielders head and crushed a line drive to the pitcher that seemed to have hurt his hand.  I was trying to go deep to right field and didn't wait long enough.  Anyway, we won and hopefully I can keep the score down against the number one seed better than the prior pitcher to give us a chance.  It was funny cuz he was trying to tell me how to field my positon and that is one of my strong points.

Tuesday night my softball team played my old team and we kicked their butt 19 to 3.  I hit two over the outfielders head.  We then had to play the undefeated team.  At one point in the 2nd inning we were down 22 - 2.  Yes, we got an old fashioned arse whoopin'.  I did hit one over the outfielder's head though.  I sucked arse at 2nd base.  I really hope the coach let's me pitch in the fall.  It's my favorite position.

Thursday I helped my friend Tamie who I worked with at Target get her car running.  She has an 01 Saturn SL2.  I installed a battery, and an alternator.  It took longer than I expected and didn't have time to exercise.   She had been without her car for 3 months and she used her stimulus check to get the parts.  I was doing it for her as a favor because I know what it's like working for those wages and under 40 hours.  She insisted on paying me so she ended up giving me $45.

Friday, I had a date with a guy I met over a glass of wine on the 24th at 5:50pm to watch Batman and dinner afterward.  He is a 49 year old executive type from Tiburon, near the Golden Gate.  He has not asked for my phone number yet.  I had to stop at the bank after work to withdrawal cash for my share of the rent and stop at the nail salon to fix a nail I broke at the batting cages Tuesday night.  I then put my hair up, showered, make up, and out.  I was supposed to meet him between 5:30 - 5:40 in the lobby of the Iron Point Cinema.  I left my house at 5:30 and arrived at 4:48.  He was nowhere to be seen.  I waited until 6:15 before leaving.  I even forgot to put my earrings in I was in such a hurry.  I think the took of and watched the movie at 5:40.  I then went to KMart to look for some white costume earrings and a necklace.  They didn't have any.  I then stopped at Panda Express to get some Orange Chicken, and Chow Mein.  I had some Merlot with it too.  I wasn't in the mood to exercise.

Saturday, I had a motorcycle safety class from 9 - 5.  That was really fun riding a bike for the first time.  It was quite warm outside and I was completely exhausted afterward.  I decided to stop by the Sacramento Brewing Company in Citrus Heights for a quality brew.  I had the Imperial Stout and sat next to the regulars at the bar for my happy hour drink.  After my drink, I tried the double pale ale.  I tasted like grapefruit and I didn't like it.  I then felt a buzz and ordered the sampler and a Red Horse Pale Ale.  A guy offered to buy me a drink after that and I declined because I was ready to go home.

Sunday was the last motorcycle safety class from 9 - 5.  I am happy to say that I passed the skills test and will be getting my M1 license.  I have to wait up to 10 days to get my paperwork in the mail to take to DMV.  Then another photo and the license will take about two more weeks to arrive after that.

As many of you know, I have not been hitting the ball well this season in softball.  My timing has been way off and I have become uncomfortable at the plate.  I have been going through a lot of changes due to exercise, moving, job, boyfriend, and not pitching which I'm sure could be part of the problem.  Today it's play-offs for my Tuesday league and I think I am ready.  Our first game is against my old team.  The LGBT one.  They have made some improvements and are the 2 seed now and we are 3.  We are missing our best female player because she is out of town for job training and one of the guys who is a good hitter is not going to be there either.  My coach mentioned me possibly pitching tonight because his male pitcher throws a lot of meatballs and the opponents have hit the ball pretty hard off of him.  I, on the other hand, rarely throw strikes let alone meatballs and I have a knuckle ball for a good change of pace.  I also change my cadence, height, and location.  The good thing is that I can usually put in in for a strike if I have to.

I told my Monday coach that I tend to be in the game more when I pitch and it could be affecting my hitting since I get kind of bored out in the field so he let me pitch.  I walked three before clearing the cob webs from my lack of pitching time this year.  I then proceeded to hit the fence on a line drive to left center 3/4 the way up my first at bat.  Yes!!!! I was about 3 feet from hitting my first out of the park home run ever.  My second at bat would have been a routine fly ball to right center, but they were playing me to the fence after my first at bat so it fell in for a base hit.  I then hit an easy one to left center and to the pitcher my last at bat.  They guy that owns the bat I used is playing in the game after ours today so I asked him if I could use the bat and he let me take it home.  So I will take a couple of rounds in the batting cage with the bat today before the game.  BTW..... I called Tuesday coach and told him I hit the fence and I pitched so hopefully he will put me on the mound tonight.  (he kinda likes to win) hehehe  The monkey on back; however, is that I have not been able to get multiple solid hits in a game and I really need to come through for the team tonight.  I have only one hit against my old team in three games.  That was a line drive over the left center fielders head in the last play-off game against them.  I am overdue for a good hitting game.  I will let y'all know the outcome tonight.  I blogged last night and Raven's computer locked up so I typed this in the morning prior/during work.
