"The three of us in Point of Grace grew up with wonderful daddies in our lives. We can all remember dancing on the feet of our fathers and looking up to them as if they truly were the “King of the World.” Although they may not have been perfect, they made us feel special and helped us believe that we could accomplish anything.

In this world that our children live in, it is so important for a daughter to grow up with a father who loves them and makes them feel like a princess. This wonderful book celebrates that special relationship. Take time to sit with your little princess today and read it together.

Hi everybody,
Hope you are doing well.  I've been meaning to write but you know how
time just gets away from you.  So I guess it takes me getting a touch
of the flu to actually sit down and write.  It started yesterday
morning with the chills and aches, then the fever, and now I just
don't want to get out of bed.  I can't believe it is already almost
the middle of February!  Where did the time fly?  Like Leigh said in
her last blog, we have been out of the road promoting the single "I
Wish".  We've met some wonderful new friends.  Speaking of the
single......  If you hear it played on your radio stations (Christian
or Country)  we would love to have you call or email them and tell
them "thank you"  for playing the song.

I don't have much to update with you today.  Like I said, I'm just
laying around.  Right now I'm watching Martha Stewart and realizing
that I am sooooooo uncreative.

We are going to Florida on Friday.  I can't wait to be in warm
sunshine :)  Although I have to say that the last few days have been
great here in Nashville.  I'm supposed to be training for the 1/2
marathon in April and I am sooooo behind.  This little flu bug isn't
helping me out either.

Have a very blessed day.   Remember this  Valentines Day that you are
ultimately loved first and foremost by Jesus!  Because of His love, we
are able to show love to others.

Much Love,
Denise

Hello Everyone!

What a wonderful time we had in South Carolina over the holidays. Lots of laughs with the family, great food, and most importantly, time to reflect on the reality of our Savior's birth.  The Nativity DVD has been a favorite of ours, as it truly brings a visual picture of just how miraculous that first 'Christmas' day was! (and the journey it took to get there!....)

We are getting ready to film a new concept video for I WISH, and the song is now charting in the Country Format. We are thankful for the opportunities and new friends we are meeting on this journey. SALT & LIGHT seem to be a recurrent theme with where we are today!

We will also have the honor to join several other Country artists and visit St. Judes Children's Hospital in Memphis toward the middle of this month. We will look forward to sharing our experiences there with you in the days ahead.

Love and Blessings to you all on your '09

Leigh

One of the most frequently asked questions we get as Point of Grace during the holiday season is...... What is your favorite Christmas memory?

Well, I have one that stands out more than all of the rest.  Christmas is and always will be a very special holiday.  As a child it was no different.  There is just something wonderful about being with your family and friends, singing in a Christmas musical, making goodies for the neighbors, opening gifts, and everything else that comes with the season.   However, looking back, there is one particular Christmas that stands out to me.  Our day started with waking up Christmas morning in our pink sponge rollers and Christmas PJ's to what Santa brought us.  I'm not sure what Santa brought me that year, but I do remember that I got my favorite "teddy bear" from my sister.  I named him Brownie, and I still have him today.  He's a little flatter and has a few holes under his arm, but that bear got me through a lot of tears through the years.

I do remember that Santa brought my sister Dayna a little cassette player that also had the microphone that you could record onto the cassette tape.  We were all about it.  Later that morning we headed out towards Phoenix, AZ  from our home in Norman, OK  to visit our cousins who had moved out there earlier that year and we missed them dearly.  We were looking at about an 18 hour drive if I remember correctly.  These were the days long before video games, DVD players, or anything electronic.  So, you had no choice but to entertain yourselves with car ride games, reading books, coloring or whatever you could think of to stay out of trouble.

We decided that it would be fun to pretend we were a radio remote.  My dad was the DJ and my mom and sisters were special guests.  Sometimes my Dad would be a guest like Ernest Tubb or Porter Wagner.  My mom was Mabel Carter or Dolly Parton and we were the "Carter sisters" and sometimes we were ourselves making it big.  I was four at the time and had a little trouble pronouncing my "R's" correctly.  On one of my appearances I chose to sing the song "Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer".  As I was doing some rearranging in a book shelf I came across the Cassette tape of our radio show.  So, I thought it would be fun to let you hear what I sounded like as a four year old.

Can you believe that as an adult I had the chance to record the same song?  It's amazing to think that all those years ago God knew the plans he had laid before me.   Wow.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this mainly to let you know that during this season of trying to pick the right gifts or host the right party that most of the things we remember about our past have to do with relationships.  So, make some memories that will last a lifetime.  Gifts will come and go, break, or get lost, but the time you spend with one another never leaves your heart.  Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Denise
