I'm a strange man, I know. Maybe I'll get serious about this someday. Maybe soon. Maybe not. I really just want to be real. And happy. Real happy would be okay too. I am real happy, so what I want seems to be working out just fine, eh?
Life is beautiful. It's so good to share.

A good time was had by all last night. The room was a little thinner than I would have liked, but it's Summer and a Wednesday night at 10pm. Makes perfect sense. The Mayhaws were outstanding as always. I can't recommend their music enough!

So, some of you may know that I am on a mission to become a full time entertainer/artist/songwriter/actor/etc. I've spent a lot of years thinking I was doing it but really avoiding it. Not any more. I'm booking more and more shows lately, and today I started busking (playing street music) in downtown Athens. It was great fun and not nearly as scary as I had imagined it would be. I made thirty bucks, sold two homemade cds, gave away a flower, got some free pizza, made new friends (Sam and Mitch) and collected a great many smiles. It was awesome fun! If you ever wander your way downtown, then you'll be seeing more and more of me right there too, singin' like an angel and whistling like a bird...
I love all you honeys!

I made a new friend the other day, a local artist named Will L. Eskridge. Check out his paintings...
http://willeskridge.com/gallery/portraits/portraits.html
Here's his Myspace page...
http://www.myspace.com/beachfloat
Will is also a songwriter and musician, and does some really nice music as well as his painting. He's also a very cool guy to spend an afternoon with on the porch watchin' the ladies go by...
I mention Will also because he'll be doing the artwork for my cd. We took some photos the other day, and a few of them I've posted here, so check 'em out and maybe you'll get an idea of just how cool the cd art is going to be. I'm super excited!
Later sweet babies!!!

Wow, it's been about five months since I last posted anything here. Naughty Sean! How can anyone know what's up if you don't post? One moment while I spank myself...
Okay, I feel properly reprimanded now. Things are going well. The cd is being mastered right now. I've played a few good shows lately, and there are more on the way (which I will post on the calender soon). I've had some new photos made lately, though I haven't seen them yet. You'll get them when I do, which I hope is any minute now...
I also have a new song, called "Shine". It was inspired by a short essay by Marianne Williamson called "Our Deepest Fear...". It's an inspirational piece that I've had hanging on my wall for a few months now, and I guess it started sinking in because it led me to the new tune, which I think is just a hoot. I hope you like it too...
In fact, I hope you'll like it enough to buy a copy from my new online music store right here on MySpace. Hopefully I can sell enough copies to put me a long way toward getting the cd pressed and barcoded so we can have a real life, old-fashioned cd release party! Yay! So please spread the word to your family and friends, and maybe a miracle can be hurried up. ;)
More news soon and more often from now on. Promise!

Finally, the new year has arrived. 2006 smacked me one more time on the way out. The show at Farm 255 had to be rescheduled. It turned out that Saturday night just wasn't such a good night after all, as the club and the rest of the town were quite dead that night! Ha! So it goes. Seriously, no big setback. I've played before empty rooms before, being canceled is by far the preferable alternative. Anyway, I'm focused on finishing the album now. It won't be long...

I'm a busy animal these days, but I love it. Things have happened...
The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) exceeded all our expectations. We played to mostly full houses and a couple of sold out crowds. We all froze our butts off in the back of Jittery Joe's Coffee Roasting Co. (780 E. Broad). The mayor came to see us as well, always nice. It was a great start for Rose of Athens Theatre Co. More good things from us to come in 2007.
Pinocchio's Wish is almost finished. I plan to shrink wrap it by the end of February. Wish me luck! I'm in the studio once more for some final tweaking in January. Happy New Year to me!
End of year shows coming up...
I'll be at The Melting Point (295 E. Dougherty St, Athens, GA) next Wednesday Dec. 20th. This is part of the weekly songwriter showcase hosted by Ken Will Morton. This week features myself, the duo of Moore and Williamson, and Jason Harwell. Also of note, this show will be a benefit for The Northeast Georgia Food Bank. Three cans of food or five bucks gets you in to see a great group of songwriters. Show starts at 8pm.
The next gig is all me! Late night cocktails and crooning at Farm 255 (255 W. Washington St. Athens, Ga) Saturday Dec. 30th from 11pm to 1am. There is no cover for this show, and I will also have fresh cut "Townie Girl" flowers for sale. Yes, you want one! I have some new songs to play for you, as well as a few new covers that I'm very excited about. Come on out and "dig in"!
Love to you,
~Sean

I just got home from a brief radio interview at WUGA 91.7 about The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged). It was fun. Lisa Mende and I did our best without our fearless leader Lisa Cesnik. It was what you might expect from a public radio interview. Kind of dry, but we did try to inject a little of the humor into it. I'm looking forward to doing my own performance there in April.
Time to get ready for tonight's rehearsal. Catch you soooooooooooon.
