Hurrah!!!

The moment everyone has been waiting for...and when we say everyone, we mean everyone Gary Oldman style, a la Leon...

"EVERYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE"

Oh yes! YOu can pre-order the truly magnificent debut single from The Outside Royalty's by just clicking on this link...

Falling by The Outside Royalty

Which by the power of the ehter will whisk you into a Rough Trade virtual supermarket where you may part with your virtual money in exchange for some good old fashioned vinyl. Oh yes! Incredible this technology isnt it? Total Recall coming for you next kids.

This is the debut single by The Outside Royalty. It has already been championed by the likes of The Guardian, Colin Murray, London Lite, and just about every bloomin' online going. Robert Plant's even gone and gotton himself a copy!!!

And in case you're not quite sure...Robert Plant has bloody good taste in music!

This is also the first single to be released by Bloody Awful Poetry Records. So we are specially chuffed that its such a corker. Rosie Oddie and The Odd Squad's single coming your way soon too!

Yippee!

So go buy it. Make sure the band get some money so they can get some money, sign to a major, quit their jobs, make beautiful music, sleep with lots of people, shout at each other, and either get arrested, kill themselves or get murdered by a crazed fan or suffer a money grabbin', one legged ex-wife and lose half of everything.

And buy it so that we can get some money, sign to a major, quit our jobs, find beautiful music, have lots more time to sleep with lots of people, shout at each other, and become panelists on some Channel 4 Best Ever countdown show.

Go on!

Go Supermarket Sweep!

Bloody Awful Poetry at Nambucca, 17th March 2007

It has taken me a while to find an indie night where I can truly be comfortable going on my own, where - for want of a better phrase - everybody knows my name and even if they don't, I'm still having a very good time. Bloody Awful Poetry might be such a night not only for the genuine passion the organisers have for the music but also because of the seemingly carefree crowd with a complete lack of pretension. As a result going alone was not only a comfortable experience but a pleasurable one and it is with a hearty bellow that this writer recommends Bloody Awful Poetry. Check them out at www.myspace.com/bloodyawfulpoetryclub. Oh, and forget the overt Smiths reference, you won't find any hints of miserabalism or young men in trench coats with copies of The Picture Of Dorian Gray crooning about strange fears gripping them in darkened underpasses. And if you do, they'll certainly be more friendly and fun than their previous New Romantic avatars.

1990's - You're Supposed To Be My Friend
Thursday, December 14, 2006

We've been getting a lot of requests from bands alL over the country and some in Europe wishing to play our night. We do try to listen to as many bands as possible but unfortunately due to the volume of requests it's not always possible.

We actually prefer the old way before myspace and the net. Myspace whilst a great and useful tool has made some bands a litle lazy. Why not come down to our night and hand us a demo in physical form. It's so much nicer as we get to have a chat to you and hopefully make a new friend in the process. You can find us in the top friends list (Micky Blue Eyes, Perfect Fumble, or Handsome Devil) Of course we cannot guarantee you will get to play our night but at least you'll get to come down and see what we consider to be some good bands as well.

Now we appreciate that if your band are based  in Scotland or Latvia then you're not gonna be able to just come down to Nambucca, so of course we also accept demos through the post in any format. In fact why not be a bit retro and send us a casette demo.

WE LISTEN TO ALL DEMOS HANDED TO US IN PHYSICAL FORM!
