Hey Friends!
Do you need a new Facebook profile pic? I mean a
real, good, casual pic of you doing your thing - not some headshot from
ages ago, a glamour shot or better yet, a pic you had to crop someone
out of.
I’m excited to announce that I’m partnering with
Toronto’s "Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation" in a fun initiative where
you can save some lives, while looking hot doing it. The event is
called “I Need a New Profile Pic. Help!”.
As a bit of
background, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in September 2006. The
news left me devastated, especially when I had thought of myself as
being a healthy person my whole life. Shortly after diagnosis, I
underwent a successful Thyroidectomy at Mount Sinai Hospital that
November and subsequently, Radiation Treatment in January 2007.
I
made it. And I wouldn’t have been able to do so without my friends,
family and the caring staff at Mount Sinai Hospital. Now is my chance
to give back and I'm thrilled that the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation
are enthusiastic about promoting this initiative together.
It’s
quite simple really. You can schedule a quick photo shoot with me at
profilepic@will-w.com between now through October 31, 2009. Each shoot
includes 10 digital frames at a minimum donation of $20 (payable in
cash). You can pick a Toronto area location of choice and your high
resolution photos will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours. Minor edits
like colour correction and blemish removal can be done at a nominal fee.
Although
some music bloggers have referred to me as Pop Maven Will-W.,
photographing people is something I have always loved to do.
Previously, my photos have appeared in publications like The Toronto
Star, The Globe & Mail, The Toronto Sun, Now, Eye, Canoe and 24;
some of my celebrity photos also have appeared on blogs like Perez
