SOBRE LA NOVELA GRÁFICA

INFESTACIÓN: LA MITOLOGÍA es una novela gráfica, realizada entre 656 comics y Adversary Comix, en ingles, de 372 páginas, a blanco y negro, en pasta dura que toma lugar en la frontera entre México (Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua) y los Estados Unidos (El Paso, Texas), donde una plaga de zombis se ha apoderado de ambas ciudades y Juárez se ha convertido en un santuario para toda esa gente que buscaba el sueño americano pero que por una u otra razón no mas no llego.

INFESTACIÓN: LA MITOLOGIA se divide en 3 secciones. La primera parte “Outbreak”, relata los primeros días de la invasión zombi en ciudad Juárez, gente común y corriente tratando de luchar contra un enemigo desconocido. Segunda parte “Survival”, la masacre de los muertos vivientes cruza la frontera hacia El Paso, Texas y solo los más arrogantes, egoístas, patanes y auto indulgentes héroes podrá sobrevivir a Hell’s Pass. La última parte “Deliverance”, toma lugar en Juárez varios años después del caos. La poca gente que queda ha organizado una nueva sociedad alrededor de su mesías, un hombre llamado Dante, que desapareció de la nada dejando a su nueva comunidad a merced del destino. Las Naciones Unidas, junto con las células, empiezan a formar un plan de evacuación llamado “El ............Éxodo”, para sacar a los últimos sobrevivientes de Juárez. Todo marcha sobre ruedas hasta que el salvador de Juárez regresa.

ABOUT THE GRAPHIC NOVEL:....

INFESTACIÓN: THE MYTHOLOGY is a ground breaking graphic novel set on the border between ..Mexico.. (..Ciudad Juárez.., ..Chihuahua..) and the ..United States.. (....El Paso.., ..Texas....), where a zombie plague has taken over both cities and all they have to survive is each other.  A border that has now become one between life and death, or un-death. ....

This area is very conducive to this type of story because it plays on all the fears that we as a people have living in this part of the country. The borders, the different races, the traditions, the growing threat of violence, the land itself, we’re in the middle of a desert here where all we have is each other, but how can we trust one another if we fail to accept the differences we all have?....

Of course, its all there, the racial tension, the problems that Chicanos, and Hispanics, and Mexican Americans have fitting in. we also have the social commentary in the form of how we are all separated by these silly social classes that make no sense, how we choose to separate our selves and subjugate our own people, because of our own fear of each other. We don’t know our neighbor, so we’ll keep him at arms length, but as soon as he turns into a zombie, you know who we’ll be putting a bullet into their heads at a moments notice!....

Karmesi… Anti-Hero of Juárez
It’s been said that it’s tough being a Mexican these days. One of the richest countries in the world is also one of the poorest. The disparity between rich and poor, and the proximity to world’s remaining superpower has left the country ripe for social, economic and even political upheavel. Drug gangs, femicide, Swine Flu, militarization, all have taken its toll on the populace, particularly in border towns like Ciudad Juárez, across the border from El Paso, Texas. Some say it would take a superhero to make things right. But as reporter Monica Ortiz Uribe discovered, some local artists have conjured up an anti-hero, instead.
