Hey so there have been a couple people ask me to put some poetry up on the myspace. It's been awhile and I know that I'm not the best or anything but I do like poetry quite alot. So, thanks for the encouragement to explore other passions.
I recited poetry and sang to the stars
Until they began to melt
down on my guitar
and drenched my heart, mouth and mind
Falseto thoughts refined
While the moonlight to my wineglass crept
then to my lips its potion kept
till down my beard
a medley wept
of subtle song and light.
Oh council me celestial eyes
exchange my song for that reprise
a medley ticks of crying eyes
some slow hour of the night.

Last night BDS played the party on the patio and it was just wonderful! The boys from the morning X were there in rare form and certainly brought their usual element to the party. (FUN)! The Outlaws were also there to represent. Thank you Bob and FM! Erin King guarded the merch with the strength and cunning of a Samarai while wearing the same hat that I am wearing in my profile pic. It was also great to see some old friends from back in Hatfield. Rhonda Duckett and John Baldwin. Not to mention Jenny who was so forgiving to some friends and I when we rearended she and her boyfriend near the park last summer because we were too busy playing cash cab. Thank you Jenny for your forgivness. The show was just wonderful! Alot of dancing and cheersing, and Woot woot! What the heck was that suppose to mean?
Love you guys,
benjamin

Flower Gazer
So Recently Someone asked for the Lyrics to Flower Gazer and I thought that I would write it as a blog so that anyone who wondered later could just come by and look. Here they are. V1. I've got two shoulders for you my dear,
One's for you to cry on if you need to cry cry and I'll be right here. there's a chip on the other one, and that's the choice that you have got. Cause there's a time to make love, I know but I know that there's a time to just kick some ass. Chorus- I know the time/ I'm just a flower gazer, that likes to pick the stars, for all the pretty girls to make their dwelling smell so near to God. V2. If all you are is a lover, and someone comes to threaten your babe you'll be quoting Byron while your baby's just a cryin and the villain takes your baby away. if all you are is a fighter and all the battles with all the villains have been won well, you'll probably abuse your love cause you've got one shoulder come on come on. Chorus. Bridge- I'm a bottle broken off in the name of Chivalry waving in all of the faces of the villains don't look at my girl, don't think about my girl she doesn't belong to you. When the taste of that first kiss is still in your mouth I'll be the angel like candle light that started it all I made a baby smile, I made a bullet wince with fear.

Benjamin Del Shreve has been writing and touring for over a decade. A traveler by heart; he has made the bohemian lifestyle a trademark of all his work. His first CD "Enjoy Me While I'm Here", was recorded in Bloomington Indiana in the autumn of 01. The whole CD was recorded at his brother Randall Shreve's apartment in a bathroom that had mattresses laid against the walls to deaden the sound. Soon, it became a rule that he would record any important songs that he had before he would take any long trips. Most of the songs are written in transit. From Indiana to the Escalante in Utah. From Orlando to the Bahamas, or Key West on a whim. From Northern California to backpacking Europe on a dime with his best friend CJ, living and working out of youth hostels. From Arkansas to Finland dancing the night away at a jazz pub using only trains for travel with the band. And most recently going up to Maine to finish the writing of the newest full length while doing migrant labor on a farm and staying in a cabin. Then, sofa surfing New York City and writing the song "Dance, Sing, Talk, Pretend" while riding the subway. His songwriting is a constant wrestling match between the lover and the poet, and the asskicker. Songs like "Flower Gazer" explains how everyone has two shoulders, one's for people to cry on while the other one has a chip on it. "Cause there's a time to make love I know but I know that there's a time to just kick some ass"! The song "Girl From Spain" coins the phrase "I am romances passionate younger brother yeah the one with the chip on it's shoulder". "We just want to make people more alive", says Shreve of his band and he. To do all things in excess, "to let what is simple remain astonishing", as said in the song "Going Gladly Mad". The not yet titled full length is expected to release sometime this summer on Ring Road Records. The band is just now celebrating their winning of the "Modern Rock Band of the Year", for North West Arkansas. Be on the look out for new songs for sale and the occasional free download.

We just want to thank everybody from Fayetteville for being so supportive of us these days. All recent shows have been packed full of dancy beautiful people, and we are so greatful for that! We are releasing a four song unmixed EP of the new stuff on the 9th at Georges where we will be playing with Hero Factor and Soular on the main stage. This will be our first show on the main stage by the way. So feel welcome but not obligated to come and shake your money maker. Also, We are teaming up with Chad Copelin of Hero Factor to put some finishing touches on the new record. We thought the record was done when we left Carnaby Street studios in Orlando but the extra time playing the songs live added a couple of new ideas to the mix. Thank God for amazing people like Randall Shreve and Chad Copelin for investing their time into bands on their way up! It looks like the new record should be out early summer. Also, an entire new line of merch should come out at the same time. Thank you all for the support and prayers. We hope that your lives will be beautiful, and that we can help them become so even more.
Cheers Benjamin Del shreve.

Universal things
There is the skins reluctance to things too sharp, and it's refusal not to feel.
There is never the misinterpretation of a wild animals growling as also laughter and flirtatious glances are understood without question around the globe. And here we see that some of the barest characteristics of Gods personality are seen in what is universally understood.
It is the language spoken among angels and demons alike that is heard when an animal growls or a lady loves. When a heart is broken its shattering sound needs no explanation in any world. For sadness has been expressed not just in Hell, not just on Earth, not just in heaven, but by God Himself.
But do not only be sad you who hear these words! For gladness is also felt in each of these worlds and in every tense of time "past, present, and future".
And gladness is felt the strongest where it is most rightly had.
"What language is the growl of a wild Beast? For that is also the language of Love. Those words that no ear can misunderstand, and no heart can do without." 4/28/05
