News regarding the new Setherial full-lenght album "Ekpyrosis" 2009.

We have now recorded six drumtracks and this time we decided to go for a fully acoustic drumsound using no triggers or other modules.

This week we will continue with the drums and also continue with the guitars and vocals. We are aiming for a much more organic production with this album since it fits the overall concept and the pre-productions we’ve done sounds extremely promising.

The lyrical theme of "Ekpyrosis" is about a metaphoric connection to the unavoidable conflict of the universe, through the satanic angle and perspective.

The Ekpyrotic Universe draws its name from the ancient Greek word ekpyrosis, meaning "conflagration" (disastrous fire or conflict). According to an ancient cosmological model with this name, the universe was created in a sudden burst of fire. 

A tribute to the complete obliteration spiral of all particles that is ever created where the allseeing/alldestroying eye of Satans singularity is represented by the destructive forces and dark energy of this vast, unknown universe.

We are currently also working with different ideas for layout and we will present it to the public as soon as we has made a decision of which artwork to use.

First of all, we in Setherial, would like to thank the bands, the staff and the very devoted crowd in Paris at the La Loco for a very memorable weekend. The Black Metal Is Rising Festival was beyond all expectations and we are very eager to return to France again spreading our gospels of inhumanity.

In order to develop skills, and be a solid part of the horde, terms as commitment, focus and determination is absolutely necessary. Due to mostly not being committed enough we’ve decided to end our collaboration with recent bassist Funestus Inferis.

For the upcoming album the bass will be handled by Kraath. A session bass player will later be recruited for upcoming live rituals.

The new official Setherial line-up is:

The recording of the new album will start this week and we are also preparing to record a additional new track exclusively for a split EP with Corpus Christii.

The new, yet untitled, Setherial album will probably be released this winter through Regain Records.

After our last very succesful European tour we decided to take a brake for a couple of months. Now we are back on track again, rehearsing new songs for our upcoming, yet untitled, full-length album. So far we have a couple of songs under construction and they will not disappoint all of you who is supporting Setherial. Our goal is to record our most violent, sombre and technical album so far. Fans of "Nord" and "Hell Eternal" should prepare themselves for a very excellent release.

Songtitles and audioclips will be revealed in a couple of months.

As some of you out there should know we have split ways with our guitarist Choronzon after 11 years.

We have recruited a new guitarplayer and we have done 2 shows with him so far and it has turned out excellent. More info about our new member should be up soon.

The european tour this autumn/winter is getting prepared right now. Some new dates can be checked out at www.setherial.com. Keep yours eyes and ears open for updates in that matter.

Horns Ablaze!

We have just added another song to our myspace-page. It is a song from Hell Eternal called "Shadows of the throne". It would be up in a day or two depending on how fast myspace is in that department. Right now we are writing some new material to our next album and rehearsing for upcoming gigs. The LP version of Death Triumphant is soon available through Regain records. Stay alert since this little slice of hell is only to be released in 300 copies. Prepare for annihilation!
