Current mood:  chipper
Today is the last day of work here at Happy Holiday Resort. It was a crazy hectic summer and way too busy, but it's all over now. (And didn't that just get the Rolling Stones song stuck in my head!!) I still have to shut down the office and give it a good cleaning, but that won't take much.

We are going to take a week to spend here at the resort as regular tourist-types. We've seen most of the stuff around here over the last 3 summers, but there's always something else to do or see. One thing on my agenda that I'm looking forward to is visiting a local winery. I've never been to one and I've always wanted to go...and not just for the free wine tasting either!

We are planning to hit the road next Monday, but we're going to be traveling very slowly. We have so many stops planned, I think it's going to take us 3 days just to get out of South Dakota, and 9 or 10 days to get to Texas.

We'll be spending at least October in Canyon Lake, Texas, which is near San Antonio. There is a really good chance we'll stay there for the entire winter. We are both thinking we'll really like San Antonio and are looking forward to exploring someplace new.

I do hope that San Antonio is not overly crowed due to all the folks hurricane Ike has displaced. And I'm sure those people are really looking forward to getting back to their lives.

Okay...overly caffeinated and probably babbling. I think I'll go clean something!

Current mood:  mellow
Whew! We made it!!

By now I'm sure the majority of us have stuffed ourselves on enough Christmas dinner and stocking goodies to makes ourselves ill. The presents have been opened, the left-overs have been divvied up and put away and the family gatherings have wound down. It's time to wish the man in red a fond bye-bye. Until next year big guy...chill.

Bring on Father Time! That's right! Here comes the big blow-out drinking holiday..the last one until Cinco de Mayo so Bring It! Man!

Seriously though, I hope everyone had a good Christmas. I hope you were kind to those who care for you (and maybe even decent to those who don't). And I hope you all have a great...and safe...New Year Eve.

Current mood:  calm

So, I have more than one blog...hell, I have more than two blogs, but I misplaced one of them some time back! OMG!! I'm a bloggerhead Freak!! Eeeek!!

Anyway, the other day Mark made a wonderful entry into OUR blog here:  http://road-trippin.blogspot.com/, and I was thinking I'd just put a link in my MySpace blog so I could share it with anyone who happens to be at THIS blog.

Now, where did I have that other blog?? Hmmmmm....

Mark and I decided since we are going to be in one place for so long, we should take advantage of the time, space and campground's workshop to redecorate the RV. It's only been 3 years since we finished the initial remodel and moved in, but in a space so small it's helps to change out your decor from time to time.

We packaged all the nautical decor and sent it home with Mark's folks when they were here to visit recently. Today we finished putting a new ceiling in all the areas except the bathroom. The plain white ceiling we had was just too boring. The new ceiling is a mottled pattern of creams, tans, whites and a sagey-green shade. (I don't actually see the green, but Mark swears I'm color-blind and it's there plain as day!...whatever...)

Next we are going to replace the backsplash of the sink/stove area. It's also a plain white and we bought some wallboard that looks like tile without adding the extra traveling weight of real tile. We are also going to replace the shower/tub walls with something a little more textured and durable than what we chose in the beginning. After that it's a matter of putting up the trim and we'll be on to the part that I enjoy most...decorating!! Yeah..

Our plan is to end up with a decor that has a Tuscan/Italian kind of feel without having to resort to a plethora of fat chef or grape patterns. I found out with the nautical decor that very much pattern goes an awful long way in a 25 foot RV! So we are thinking if we keep the base a neutral shade, we should be able to use color in pillows, curtains, towels etc to give some extra character. We also have our eyes on a few choice pieces of kitch that might add some flavor.

How about that...it really isn't rocket surgery or brain science. All I had to do was push away from the caffeine and take a minute to READ! But now I think I'm getting the hang of MySpace. The only problem now is that I want to be online too much messing with it!!
OCD can realy be a bitch, huh?

Ok...so I'm fiddlin around with MySpace...whinin' and wonderin' why everyone else has such cool looking blogs with music and all kinds of extra goodies and I can't seem to find them anywhere on my page. I mean, I'm really starting to feel pissy and whiny and just plain dumb.
Then, viola! I run across the answer!! I am using Mozilla's Firefox for my browser rather than Internet Explorer (which I don't really care for), and I realize that MySpace has yet to make itself compatible with other browsers.
Whew...waiting I can handle...being dumb and missing out on something because I "just don't get it", is not something I'm prepared to tolerate.

*sigh* Yep.

I was going to post to my blog this morning. I was determined that as soon as I finished doing some things around the house...and checking my email...and downloading some illegal music...and writing the great American novel...I WAS going to post to my blog.

*sigh*
