Today is the last day of work here at Happy Holiday Resort. It was a crazy hectic summer and way too busy, but it's all over now. (And didn't that just get the Rolling Stones song stuck in my head!!)

I still have to shut down the office and give it a good cleaning, but that won't take much.
We are going to take a week to spend here at the resort as regular tourist-types. We've seen most of the stuff around here over the last 3 summers, but there's always something else to do or see. One thing on my agenda that I'm looking forward to is visiting a local winery. I've never been to one and I've always wanted to go...and not just for the free wine tasting either!
We are planning to hit the road next Monday, but we're going to be traveling very slowly. We have so many stops planned, I think it's going to take us 3 days just to get out of South Dakota, and 9 or 10 days to get to Texas.
We'll be spending at least October in Canyon Lake, Texas, which is near San Antonio. There is a really good chance we'll stay there for the entire winter. We are both thinking we'll really like San Antonio and are looking forward to exploring someplace new.
I do hope that San Antonio is not overly crowed due to all the folks hurricane Ike has displaced. And I'm sure those people are really looking forward to getting back to their lives.
Okay...overly caffeinated and probably babbling. I think I'll go clean something!
