Category: News and Politics
While we have not been up to much in the last couple weeks, we are coming back with a bang.

Monday 11/12 6PM: We will be meeting by the bus stop on the corner of Washington and Lark, to hit the streets with the infoboards, as well as handing out pamphlets and dvd's. We should be there for at least an hour, and we usually get a great response here from passerby's, so this should be a good event.

Wednesday 11/14 6PM: We will be meeting on the corner of Washington and Fuller (by Empire Commons) to bullhorn some traffic. This is a great way to increase exposure, and can be a really fun event. Hopefully the weather holds out and the lack of sunlight doesnt hurt us too much. We should be out for at least an hour.

Thursday 11/15 11AM: We shall be tabling in front of the Campus Center in UAlbany this day, from 11AM till at least 2PM. This is a really easy event, people who are interested simply come up to the table and talk to you. There will be plenty of materials to hand out, so stop on by and give us a hand.

Wednesday 11/28  7:00 PM
Regime Change '07
6 Political Minded bands take to instruments and rock a musical coup.  Cultural Relativity starts the whole thing off at 7:00 p.m. free dvd's will be provided.  Recieve the 5 song demo with each $8 ticket purchase.

Sunday 12/02   3:00 PM

Potentially the most important film of our generation releases it's third and final installment.

Last door on the 2nd floor

Hopefully you can make it out to some of these events. Keep an eye out for upcoming events (we are currently brainstorming on activism ideas for the winter months), plus we wil be planning the trip to the second annual Boston 9/11 Truth Tea Party on December 16th. This was an awesome event, and promises to be even better this year. Also, we will be arranging a couple of screenings of the just released and much anticipated Loose Change Final Cut. I saw this on September 10th in NYC, and it did not dissapoint.

9/11 Truth UAlbany will continue its tradition of commemorating the 11th of every month with a full day of Truth Action. Before we mass mobilize on the streets of NYC on 9/11/07, the focus for 8/11 involves state capitals. Join us in Albany, NY for the following events:

Saturday, August 11, 2007

2:00 p.m.  Meet @ Daily Grind
204 Lark St, Albany, NY - (518) 434-1482

2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Group up with some people you might not know so well, and roll out to the fire stations to help our most noble of civil service people find out that we're on their side.  When you get done – grab a bite to eat, get each other's contact information, and then head over to the State Capital.

5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Outside of the Capital Building – sidewalk protest.  (Unfortunately, I didn't realize I was heading this up until it was too late to get a permit for protesting by that nifty statue out front, but that's okay.)  Should be hitting the 6 O'Clock whistle by the time we really get cooking.

Suggested Angle of Bullhorning:

-Firefighters, 9/11 Toxic Dust, EPA scandal

-Government doing their job (or not at all)

-patriotsquestion911.com

We really need as many people as possible to make it out from all over the state. This event falls on a Saturday afternoon, so there are really no excuses for anyone to not be able to make it from all parts of the state.

And, it would be nice to see some people from NYC "put up or shut up" as the saying goes and make it out to Albany on 8/11. Yes, Manhattan is literally ground zero for this movement, but if we're going to get anything accomplished as far as getting a new investigation, we must also have a show of force at the state capital.

Please get in touch with Mike (mm7103@albany.edu), Sean (mihop2006@hotmail.com) or Jesse (jcrelativity@yahoo.com) for more info.

Truth Actions aren't just for the 11th of each month. Truth happens at seemingly any moment. Check out how the members of 9/11 Truth Albany spread truth throughout the city each and every day with two new street action videos:

Lazy? Poor organizational skills? Let your city do the planning for you and crash a major event/concert/festival. Check out how the War on Apathy and 9/11 Truth Albany invaded TulipFest 2007:

July 11th is almost here, and we have organized a day full of truthing to coincide. Hopefully you can make it out and give us a much needed hand.

Wednesday 11th

10 A.M.:  we will meet around this time at the Daily Grind on Lark St.

We will then proceed to Broadway and work our way up all the way to Quail st. We hope to pass out several thousand pamphlets (4,000 is the goal), as well as around 1,000 DVD's. This will continue until around 3PM, or when we are finished with all the pamphlets and DVDs, whichever comes sooner.

4 P.M.: We will then go back to the Times Union HQ, on the corner of Albany-Shaker Rd and  Wolf Rd. This proved to be a great location last month, with lots of traffic, curious Times Useless workers and the TU sent a reporter out to talk to us. Maybe they will even write a story about us this time. If we can get some good numbers here, this would make quite an impression.

This will go on until at least 6 P.M.

Hope to see you out there.

Part 1 of 3

What's goin on, just got back from the 9/11 Truth "Emergency" conference in Philly. It was a good time overall, with several shining moments in between. Here are some thoughts/observations:

On Philly:
-What better place to celebrate the Declaration of Independence? I love this city for many reasons, and now for a few more. I was amazed at the seemingly daylong protests in front of Independence Hall from a variety of different activist groups. Props to the Coalition to Free Mumia Abu Jamal, the Black Panthers,  Free Tibet, and the 9/11 Truther/Ron Paul supporters who were laying it down.

- Cops, cops, cops... everywhere. Okay, okay, yeah it was probably just because of the thousands of people roaming the streets for the Indepence Day festivities, but it was a tad excessive. It should be obvious to everyone that they are trying to build a prison, in the words of System of a Down with all the cops, security, marshalls, and homeland security agents visible from all angles. And I thought Albany was bad.. anyone from Philly wanna comment on the police presence during a normal day?

- Cheesesteaks: i recommend the ones from the street vendor.

On the Conference:
- A solid conference with some great speakers, including Dr. Bob Bowman (don't understand why the crowd turned on him. probably just the hippies), Kevin Smith, and Webster Tarpley (can sorta guess why the crowd turned on him, but some of it was uncalled for) . It was nice to see a little bit of unity with the local peace groups, but there's still a lot of room for improvement on that front. The speeches from the two 9/11 family members were extremely powerful and reminded us all why we were there.

- For an "emergency conference," i feel we were really just treated to more of the same. As mentioned there were some great speakers, but I had seen all of these people give similar speeches in the past few months. The conference failed deliver on its promise to give us a chance to communicate, coordinate, and share strategies with one another. There was a lot of "preaching to the choir," which was partially necessary for the peace groups in attendance, but there was no need for it later on when the group started to break up...

- ...The format could've used some tweaking. I mean, come on, how appealing does a 7 hour lecture sound on July 4? It was nice to hear from the delegates from the different activist groups, but the speeches should've been kept to the first few hours, with the second half actually being devoted toward the strategy session. And where was the ACTION? Sure, we didn't let the lack of an action plan stop us (see next bullet), but really now... it's time to stop bitching and start a revolution!

- Shining moment of the day: some street action with Luke and the guys/gals from wearechange.org. Essentially, the younger crowd got tired of the hours and hours of lectures (without a formal break!! ahhh!), so we decided to get out and make some waves. I do feel bad for the poor NBC reporter whose live shot we totally ruined. She was hott! But, she is lying corporate news reporter so she had it coming. It was really cool to have members of the major 9/11 youth groups (we are change nyc, philly, student scholars, and albany of course) working together and tearing shit up. Be on the lookout for all the photos and video magic on the way.

On the shitty weather and lack of fireworks:
- Shit happens, but all in all, a good time.

stay tuned for part II and III, through the eyes of my comrades.
