it's funny. I never set out to be a world changer... not like Karim Rashid, who wrote that book "I want to change the world" and believe me, I think his designs have...
and yet... in my own small design place, I would like to think I am doing a little part.
I worked for 6 years at a huge manufacturer that had a 0% waste policy. Somehow that got really engrained into my psyche and I just couldn't bear to throw away the scraps of ribbon and material that were left over after we were sewing the skirts... so Libby Dibby bags were born.
I designed the DoHippy myself, but I've also teamed up with an amazing purse designer that I randomly met and have since become friends with who takes my scraps and makes the most amazing creations from them! She's to be credited for coming up with all the handbag designs, and though my name goes on them eventually, she's the real brain and fingers behind all the little details. I serve as the inspirer... I guess... "hey, can we try something a little like this?" and she shows up with these works of art.
And so, we change the world, one bag at a time together... with 0% waste and a lot of love and creativity.
