Sometimes I wonder about the economy. I wonder how everyone is doing
and how bad it may or may not get. I know families that have
been caught up in job losses, friends caught up in home losses…I
watched peoples savings deplete and retirements go to nothing. I was a
little down about it all..but through it all I have found something
very important. I found God’s power in time and patience. My father
lost his job but is not happier with the job he currently just got. He
has better hours and a lighter workload, my cousin is also a victim of
a job loss but has found that he can change careers (he was never
happy) and he will have more time for his baby because of it.
We often get caught up with the negetive of the news and world
around us. Its funny to me at times how negetive our society can be.
Here we are in a recession of recessions. I have a job, but my
co-workers still complain about having to work and how much they hate
this place and they want to quit. I am not sure why..the job is
actually really good..with good benefits. They just dont realize how
the market is these days. I often praise God for what I have and am
greatful for it.
During turbulent times we should seek God. I had a chance to witness
to my cousin about it. We prayed together and I told him that God loves
times like these because this is when he shows his true glory. God is a
Champion and is the light in any dark situation.
If you or someone you know is going through times like these
remember to seek God out. Ask him to intervene and guide you out of it.
Remember that you have to have faith and truly believe that God can do
this, Sometimes I feel like I am being prepared for my own trial.
Pray with me:
God thank you for everything that you provide to me and to my
family. Thank you for giving me another day on this earth to spread
your ministry and to strengthen the body. Thank you Lord for even the
struggles because you love us and will deliver us from them. Father
please provide jobs for the jobless, patience for those that are going
through turbulent times, and understanding from their families. Lord
please provide hope and support and allow for them to be financially
blessed Lord. Thank you for being a provider and a strength for us to
lay our tired heads on Father. We love you Father.
Amen
Verse:

Philippians 4:19 (New International Version)

19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

This last weekend I was with my fellow brothers and sisters at the Flavor Fest in Tampa Bay Florida. If your not up on what that is check it out at www.flavorfest.org. It is held at a Church called crossover with Urban D as the leader of the congregation. While I was there my wife was at home with my sister. I missed her and and did not like having to leave her behind, she is my best friend. The question I was asking myself while I was there was at what point does family and ministry of music cross? I hear a lot of rappers and ministers in the church talk about it. I know the answer to the question, but I wonder how many may get it twisted.

The answer to the question of Family v. Ministry starts here:

God is a God of order

Lets start with this verse 1 Cor 14:40 But all things should be done with regard to decency and propriety and in orderly fashion. (The Amplified Bible)

God likes things done in order..when things get out of order they get twisted...so what comes first?

Your family is your first ministry...there is no way around this..If you are having problems at home you should attend your home problems. Take care of your wife and children and do not ignore your total family.

"If anyone wants to provide leadership in the church, good! But there are preconditions: A leader must be well-thought-of, committed to his wife...He must handle his own affairs well, attentive to his own children and having their respect"
1 Tim 3:1-4

"If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
1 Tim 5:8

Relatives is the key word in the second scripture. This means outside of your house! Your Grandma, Mom, Dad, Sister, Cousins. You can not save the world, but if they need help you should try to help them. Hopefully this opens things up a little..discuss it and get back at me if you want to chop it up..Love Yall!

Scripture: Daniel 4:27, 37 (New Living Translation)27

"'King Nebuchadnezzar, please accept my advice. Stop sinning and do what is right. Break from your wicked past and be merciful to the poor. Perhaps then you will continue to prosper.37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud."King Nebuchadnezzar was a very powerful man. Similar to the President of the United States today in terms of world influence, Nebuchadnezzar ruled the Babylonian empire when it was at its peak. He conquered countries, enslaved people and acculated vast amounts of wealth. He was also the same king who saw Daniel get rescued from the lions' den and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego saved from the fiery furnace. Yet, despite all of his success and opportunity to witness great miracles, Nebuchadnezzar failed to acknowledge the true and living God. He let his pride get in the way.We will likely never become as powerful as Nebuchadnezzar, but that does not make us immune to our own pride. Like Nebuchadnezzar, its very easy to begin thinking that we got a promotion at work, were able to grow our ministry or able to accumulate a little bit of wealth because of our own gifts and talents. And while we may have worked hard to achieve these things, it is God who gives us our gifts. And it was also God who gives the increase. (I Corinthians 3:6) In Daniel 4:28-33, the Lord humbled Nebuchadnezzar by taking away everything he had. As you can see in verse 37, Nebuchadnezzar eventually repented and even admitted his issues with pride. We shouldn't get to the point where God must humble us in order for us to acknowledge Him as our Lord. This is also where being intimate with God comes into play. If you know the Lord, it becomes that much harder to allow your pride to distort your view of Him or relationship with Him.

Grace and Peace,
Wade

Reading: Ephesians 5:1-20

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days– Ephesians 5:16 (New Living
Translation)

As you may know, I do mix show for Holy Culture Radio (www.holycultureradio.com).
One of the things I love about doing the show is that I tape it in advance. So if I
mess up, I can start it again and re-record it. Since I am a perfectionist,
sometimes I will do it several times until I get it to sound the way I want it to.
When I am DJing at churches or for artists however, I don't have this same liberty.
If I mess up, I can't just stop the music and say, "Guys I messed up here, I need to
start over." Sometimes I wish I could though.

Our lives are like the latter scenario. We don't get a chance to erase a previous
experience and replace it with a new one. If we are lucky, God may give us the
opportunity to correct a mistake. However, the original chance is still on the
record. That's why it's so crucial to make the most of every opportunity.

How many times do we have the opportunity to share the gospel with someone but we
put it off? How many times do we treat someone unfairly because we are in a bad
mood? How often do we just neglect our Bible and prayer life off? This message is
fairly simple today, but I just want to encourage you to make the most of your time
in this world. Think about ways to help other people and ways to build your
relationship with the Lord. God is going to ask us about that on judgment day.

Grace and Peace,
Wade

Remembering that Jesus died on the cross is very important...but remembering that he rose from the dead conquering hell is even bigger. We are forgiven for our sins. Jesus shed his blood to cleanse us.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. (NIV)

Jesus is truly the way to salvation.

Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. (NIV)

I know that many, including myself, forget how BIG this is. God’s son died on the cross and went through humiliation for us. A KING of KING’s new that he must die to save those that rejected him. It is truly amazing that this happened for us. This day is about his resurrection and victory over death. Because his victory is our victory!

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead... (NIV)

Matthew 27:50-53

I felt led to start a blog called, The Kingdom Music question to address some of the issues that come up Positive/Christian music. I also felt led to clarify things for those that are not aware of what our genre and culture of music represent. Of course, this is just my take on things gathered by myself through the walk and talk of the everyday Christian music movement. Today I wanted write on a very complex topic.....................Is there room for positive hip hop and Holy Hip Hop to exist together? When people discuss Holy Hip Hop and Positive hip hop there are different sides to the conversations. Some love positive hip hop and think it is great music and ministry....while others think it is a waste and feel they get nothing out of it. I myself believe that it is necessary to have both musics in our ministry of Christian hip hop. Reason being is this....It is simply put by Paul in 1 Cor 3. Chapter 3 discusses feeding milk to baby Christians and not giving them meat. Christians that are deeper into the faith do not always feel the lyrical content of a positive/Christian song becuase their level of understanding beyond what is being said by the artist. So some feel that the music they are listening to is not..how can I say this...Godly enough, or lacks content. What some in the church do not realize is that those unsaved individuals, or newly saved individuals are struggling with letting go of their old ways...to include music. They may not feel Truth, or Cross movement right away...but they may like an artist that is more grounded and geared towards people in the grey area. The question one must ask themselves is this..What about when i was a baby Christian? What kind of music would I want to hear? When I first came into the church (seriously), I did not want to listen to any Christian rappers. I did not feel them becuase of my state of mind. Now I do. I feel the artists out there now becuase they are dealing more on a level that I am currently on. So how can one form be wrong as long as it is within the limits of our beliefs and not self glorification. My prediction...someone will find a reason..why find a solution to a serious issue in our world when one can shoot it down while it is still growing into something? Wake UP....there is room for these ministries to work together.

The biggest issue is people want to judge music from where they stand and not from where they were, or could be. We as Christians need to stand behind the brothers and sisters that are ministering through music. It is very important that we stand by them and supplement young baby Christians growth. At the same time we need to be accountable to each other and keep our sword sharpened. It really is not hard to see the sense in the matter. Support all facets of Christian hip hop...the simplest to the most complex.
