Hi Guys,
We are starting work on our debut album very shortly indeed. We are all very excited about this and cant wait to get started. We are going to write, re-write and re-arrange songs so that we have as many options as possible when it comes to the recording process.
For this reason we will not be playing too many gigs at the moment and this is why we are not overly booked up at the moment. All our time will be going into this. On the plus side we will be showcasing new songs at the few gigs we will be playing this year!! We will be sure to keep you posted and would love any feedback you can give us. It will all contribute to the album.
There is no concrete release date for the album as of yet but the initial plans are:
Debut album, to be released spring 2010 (tbc) via Zine Records. The album does not yet have a name. Keep you posted.
Thanks for letting us bend your ear. All the best......

Day of Days are Perthshire lads. Not to my knowledge a particularly hot spot in the uprising of Scotland’s currently burgeoning wee scene. I don’t know, maybe it is, and apologies of course for any offence caused. Whatever the state of Perthshire’s music network, Day of Days are certainly the first to come to my attention any time lately shall we say. I still haven’t seen them live, so until such a time as I have taken them in live, I won’t decide completely what I think. How could I of course. Instead, this little review is based entirely upon the bands forthcoming single E.M.P, set for release on the 13th June. It is claimed on the bands myspace @ www.myspace.com/dayofdaysmusic that they have a live sound,
“so big that it is utterly impossible to resist!!!”
I look forward to that with great anticipation.
Single A side E.M.P begins with fifteen seconds of straight up drums bass and guitar energy that certainly sets out promising intentions. A rhythm section that clearly know what the script is, accompanied by a grizzly array of guitar bleepadelica. When the unmistakably Placeboesque vocal of Paul Petrie kicks in, we are given confirmation that this is a real deal outfit. You have the point of realisation, whether you like it yet or not, that this band are certainly good. It wasn’t for me a first time love affair. I admit that.
There is no doubt that this is a well crafted and well recorded single. The driving tempo, great melody, the build ups, the breaks, the guitar tone and for me most importantly, the stand out vocal, all combine in a way that I liken to something like that of the new Vauxhall Insignia. It seems to be perfect in so many ways, that you find yourself surprised a little when you find out it is a Vauxhall. You know what I mean? Day of Days sound like they have developed a real togetherness and maturity to there song construction. They have a sound that is certainly there own.
It does definitely demand your ears to keep paying attention, and when you do, it grows and grows inside your brain until your foot starts to tap. The bass line in B side Mindus is absolutely infectious. I grasp at the suggestion of a bit of Muse, then before I decide whether this is true or not, I hear something else. Something I can’t put my finger on. Whatever it is I do like it. I need to see them live to know if my ears have a relationship blossoming with this band on a regular basis, or if it is just a passing glance in the street in which I acknowledge a definite and genuine attraction for, but don’t stop.
Day of Days are 100% worth checking out. They will not be everyone’s cup of tea, but not even U2 manage to be that. They have likeability, a well crafted single, good solid musicians, and a vocal that although comparable to the distinct voice of Brian Molko, is still more original than most bands at the minute. Based on the single alone, If I was going to write one sentence it’d be this,
Day of Days E.M.P doesn’t become an instant favourite of mine, but what it does do however, is make me play it over and over and over, growing each time in my appreciation if not quite all out admiration, and fuck me does it grow on you.
For live dates all over Scotland see the bands myspace as per above. Glasgow June 13th @ ABC2(E.M.P single launch) is where I will be checking them out for the first time LIVE. I just hope it is as BIG as they promise. If it is, I reckon there is a chance my lugs shall hear more and more of these Perthshire lads. I shall let you know.

Hey guys,
We done a wee poll within the band for fun sakes and also as a way to show you how our 2008 went. Also to say thanks to the people who have made an impression on our year. Well here it is.............2008 in Categories:
Best gig: Big in Falkirk/king Tut's Wi 'The Fire and I' (sold out).
Worst gig: Scribblers picnic (One of our members thought drinking after Tut's was by far better an idea than sleeping.........at all!!! Result.................No words to describe!!!) Also not very busy. Cool wee fest though and we still thank you guys at Scribblers for the invite. Sorry for our performance. Will NEVER happen again.
Favourite song: Mindus
High Point/s: Debut single release and playing several amazing gigs on huge stages which we still felt to big for!!! Diva's!!!!
Low point: Scribblers picnic and Dumfries single launch (Just one of those nights).
Best or most fun band/s to play with: 10cc, The Fire and I, We were promised Jetpacks, Dunderheids, Rodan, Airspiel, Must be something, Descartes, Pablo Eskimo (not a good gig but a good laugh!!! They played gr8 set tho). We like the fun!! Ton's more but these bands really pushed the right buttons.
Favourite venue: King Tut's, Glasgow.
Least Favourite venue: Erm too many to mention. Sorry.........
Funniest moment: Garry directing a van into a parking space in heavy traffic thinking it was our van and after completing his task going to the passenger door only to see a strange man give him the thumbs up for helping him out!! Our van was the one behind, we seen the whole thing and lost the space. Classic Garry!!! We love him though. Kind of.
Goal for 2009: Album, Major deal and play all the Fests we can!!!! Take over the world pinky!!!
Thanks to: EVERYONE who has followed us over 2008 in to some gr8 venue's and some toilets (erm not real one's) and to the people who constantly pay money to see us. You all know who you are. To the girlfriends who endure or have endured the "band" talk and all the gigs pretty much non stop. Business side of things we would like to thank Ian Mackin for trying like a bear to better us, PM promotions for all the quality gigs (BIF 09???) and good banter. Mark at ZineRecords for pushing the single and also for doing a top job recording it!!! If we forgot anyone then we know who you are anyway. xxx
Thanks for a top 2008, we will see you for a much bigger 2009!!!!!!!!! Love Day of Days. xxx

Hey guys,
We are proud to say we have finally got our debut single recorded and it's ready to be released to the masses!! The official release date will be 13th December 2008 courtesy of Zine records.
The single is called 'Modern Expectations' and is strongly backed with not one but two b sides!!! These are 'Vertigo 2006 demo' and 'Chase (+48v remix)'. Vertigo was an old song recorded by ourselves a couple of years ago. We like to think it's still a quality tune that deserves to be out there. Chase is a favourite for a lot of you's out there but this version is different. It's a dance/techno remix by +48v. It truly is unique!! :)
We hope you all get yourself online and download the single from the available outlets. We will keep you posted on where these are very soon. It should be all major formats. There will also be a link from our myspace and official website www.dayofdays.co.uk
We will be doing some limited edition hard copy singles also that will be available at our single lauch gigs!! See you there............................
